I'm a Yankee fan but rooting for the Mets as a lot of my old NY friends are Mets fans. Although most/all of them would never in a million years cheer for the Yankees lol. Doesn't look good for the Mets at the moment.
What I like is how the Mets keep giving me hope, only to rip me apart. Every inning. This is hell, yes? Amazing.
Darn Over a billion dollars committed the previous off season has really done a lot for the Dodgers organization and I hate it.
Both teams in the World Series are big spenders and I hate that a lot. But given the options, I'll root for the one that reps the place I lived for 12 years.
Not the World Series I want but I do find this one strangely compelling. No plucky underdogs, the heroes are dead, darkness won. Just the two evil empires of each league with the most brutal lineups money can buy bashing each other over the head like a couple of bloodthirsty titans. It’ll be a spectacle if nothing else.
Well I never thought we'd take the NLCS to six games back in May when we were 10 games below .500. What a run. Definitely my favorite Met team since 2015.
After a regular season that had incredible high stakes right down to the final day due to the expanded postseason, and then said postseason that made for must-see TV, again due to the expanded wildcard bracket, we end up with what the pearl-clutching oldhead traditionalists wanted to begin with, namely the two top division winners going to the World Series. The two teams with the two biggest stars in the sport, but both teams that lacked a real spark of drama this year. A Tigers-Mets or Guardians-Phillies or Royals-Padres World Series, or really any configuration of those teams, would've been way more exciting in my opinion, than the milquetoast Yankees versus the main$tream Dodger$. Oh well, I'll still be watching and it should be a great series. Go Yankees!
Ironically enough, my brother, who's a Mets fan, actually went to Barclay's last night to watch the Liberty's final game to clinch. None of us had ever been to a WNBA game before. He was following the ballgame on his phone, but obviously resigned to the outcome by the time the basketball game was over.
Return of the copers singing the oldies but goodies about Yankees payroll and "evil empire" and man, all I can say? We. Are. So. Back. Dodgers are scary. Not gonna lie. But I keep telling myself, we weren't supposed to win in 1996 either. Go Yanks.
