This is more or less my point. If you're going to be bad, at least be fun. The Rockies right now have TWO players with an OPS+ over 100 and that includes role players. Losing 14-11 has to be more fun for the fans than losing 8-4 with the humidor. Amazing.
It’s good that we got a Coors Field no-hitter out of the way early on because we would be counting down the outs the minute a pitcher gets through the fourth inning without a hit otherwise.
Not watching any of of this Yankees vs As series since its over on the West Coast but I see that Jasson Dominguez has 7 RBIs. It's been 1 game. WHAT the ACTUAL.. time to find some highlights to see how that is possible, Turns out it is a Grand Slam and an additional Two other home runs. Wow. But does that even count in a minor league stadium? Baseball is weird this season. As and Rays both in Minor League Parks.
So, does anyone get the joke of why the White Sox congratulated Leo for being the 268th and not the 267th Pope? Little White Sox trivia question
I was convinced the A’s would run away with the AL West this season since they have the advantage of playing half their games in that park, and their offense was pretty potent the second half of the year last year. What I forgot to factor into my projections was the fact that they’d be playing other actual major league teams in those 81 home games, and that those teams would feast in that place. We saw it with the Cubs, now we’re seeing it with the Yankees.
I think we are all in the wrong profession. I was watching a video from one of those YouTubers that films their travels and him and a friend were at a Rays game. The Rays mascot knew them because of their videos and gave one of them a seat just above the dugout and let them lead the crowd in the 'Take Me out to the Ballgame' song.
To be fair, it was the Rays. Bet most of the people at the park were watching Youtube on their phones anyway.
Despite all that's gone into why the Rays are playing where they are this season, I did get a kick out of yesterday's game being the first rain delay they've had in a home game in franchise history. Friendly reminder while I'm at it, while there's been a smattering of weather delays at Dodger Stadium (I was at one in 2013 ; a game with the Marlins was moved ahead of its originally scheduled date in August of '23, when we had that tropical storm Hillary out here), the last time there was a rain-out of a game was... .
Now that Bud Black is gone, the Rockies will surely reel off thirty consecutive wins to move themselves into shouting distance of first place.
