    Is it just me...

...or does all the dialogue seem like it was written by kids?

None of the convos are all that interesting, gotta say...

Never saw them in Rebels. I like that they're basically all white. They took the original Boba Fett concept with the white armor and red triangle on the helmet.

And...Now that Bo got the call to align the factions, we're definitely going to get these guys and run directly into some challenges.

    So I watched the episode.

    'Twas a good episode.

But the dialogue doesn't do it for me.

    Too... same-y?

    Too... expected?

Can't quite pin it down. I think it's my only problem with the series thus far. It feels like they're just rushing some scenes. But I love the situations the Mandos (and the Mando) get themselves into so far. The chase through the asteroids The spider-thing on Mandalore... The Mythosaur... Paz Vizla's kid... And now the battle over Nevarro's main city center. The action, if nothing else, is top-notch and visually stunning. And the N-1 rocks as far as scenery goes. Really just blends with the action but also stands out.

And Ahmed's the Best! Glad he's back!

That was a really thoroughly enjoyable episode. Nice that we’re starting to get some dots connected

Nice progression of the overarching Mandalorian storyline in a number of ways. Great to see them making the step from hiding underground, to be being back on Navarro and living out in the open world. Also some interesting dialogue and progression for both Bo and the Armourer

I also enjoyed the New Republic scenes. I do wish that they would sometimes show the NR as actually doing things well. As so far from the sequels, this and Boba Fett they’re coming across as pretty useless from day 1. What they did a good job of though is showing how these ex imperials such as Kane are still influencing things and clearly have ulterior motives. One thing that I particular enjoyed, and it has been mentioned further up the thread, is how we’re not only getting the first look at how the First Order formed, but also the Resistance. It seems that many in the NR are becoming complacent and turning a blind eye to the growing threat of imperial factions etc, while some people like Carson Teva are starting to really recognize that something is developing and they need to prepare for it

The swerve at the end was certainly interesting. I can certainly see the logic in a number of theories:
    1) Bo Katan seemed very uneasy in her conversation with the Armourer. Is she hiding something ? Has she made some sort of deal gone wrong in order to extract Gideon and now regrets her ways as she’s started to feel at home with the covert ?

    2) Is there a group of loyal imperial supercommandos out there or Mando-Imperials who’ve rescued him ? Is Gideon Mandalorian after all ?

    3) Is this actually related to Thrawn ? We know that Morgan Elsbeth works for Thrawn and she possessed Beskar weaponry. Is this somehow all linked together ? After all we do get a certain cameo in this episode which you could certainly say relates to Thrawn/Ahsoka

Either way it’s left me really interested and intrigued to see where this series is heading. I’d like to see a bit more of Din and Grogu as at the minute they just seem to be the connective tissue linking different planets and people together.

The N-1 has been a great addition. And loved seeing the Mando scenes in live action, scenes we’ve seen so often in TCW and gave me goosebumps seeing them drop from the ship

And finally as alluded to earlier…. ZEB!!!! As a huge huge lover of Rebels I really loved this subtle cameo. I was pleasantly surprised by this version of him. I just love his voice, there’s something so unique and soothing about it. I’d seen a spoiler that a Rebels character was appearing so I’d fully got myself geared up for Sabine and hadn’t even considered it would be anyone else. So when he was there I shouted at the tele!

It was pretty flat. The only line that stood out enough to bug me was when Pirate Shard said "it's the Mandalorian!", when Din was attacking his ship. Like I don't mind that Greef calls Din Mando. That's his nickname. But for an enemy that doesn't know him personally, but knows him from previous attacks, and I guess knows his name by now ... why would he call him "the Mandalorian"? Does he call all individual Mandalorians, "the Mandalorian"?

Just something that stuck out as odd.

So with Bo going forth to unite the Mandalorian Tribes...does the Armorer expect them all to follow the Way as strictly as TCoTW? Or will it just be a thing that as long as they are willing to come together that is all that matters. Cover your face or not you are still Mandalorian...as long as you fight for Mandalore?

She said that all Mandos must unite and follow the way, but Bo walks both worlds so she can remove her helmet. So...maybe there's some flexibility? I dunno.

How would a tracker explain anything? There would be no reason for Carson to expect that R5 was with Din Djarin.

My guess is that R5 pinged Carson. Or Carson pinged R5 asking if he’d seen any Mandos, and R5 said: You won’t believe who I’m chilling with right now.
She clearly implied that she recognizes all Mandos don’t (and will not) follow the one way she follows. She finally recognizes two different paths after Bo tells her of the mythosaur and leads them to victory on Nevarro. “She walks both worlds” is a reference to that. So no, clearly and unequivocally, she will not insist that non-CotW Mandos wear their helmets all the time. It’s all right there in the dialogue.

I mean, bad dialogue isn't a new thing in this show:

'It says here you are from Alderaan, I served at Alderaan. Did you lose anyone?'

Seriously, until Andor came along, all Star Wars stories had their share of bad dialogue, including The Mandalorian.

Today was a fun episode. So quick recap:
    I liked that Ugnaught
    RIP Gorian Shard
Someone was wearing the Sarco Plank head and I could see their clearly human arms so I thought that was funny.

I gotta say I am a bit disappointed with Gorian Shard going down like such a chump.

I’m not sure exactly what role he could have had in the story, but he was such a cool looking character Only to go down so easily.

I rank this an 8, side-by-side with Chapter 18 - this brought more spectacle, but 18 had more character work and a bigger “reveal” moment with the Mythsoaur.

Did anyone see Gorian Shard's body?

    Somehow, Gorian survived.

It bugs me that only pirate ships have big wheels for their helms. There was one like that in Trek Strange New Worlds, too. Come on, art departments, don't you think that's just a little too on the nose?

I figure Din already beat the pirates twice. First a shootout. Then in a dog fight.

If they didn’t catch his name during the shootout they definitely would have asked around he blew up half a frozen pirate starfighters. The name the pirates would have gotten is Din’s bounty hunter name of The Mandalorian or just Mando.

I think it makes sense the pirates know him as The Mandalorian.

Better than last week (although that's not saying much).... and at least they are trying to go somewhere.

This entire season feels like a first draft written after a brainstorming session and then they realized they had to start filming the next day so they just went with it. It has been extremely disjointed and some of these plots had barely any build up and then were just resolved trivially. Sometimes it almost feels like scenes from different shows were cut together. Some of the plots just come out of nowhere. All of a sudden the armorer has Bo take her helmet off and she's her big hope. The x-wing pilot randomly finding that shuttle - Moff Gideon all of a sudden didn't make it to trial? They really should have been slowly building these plot threads instead of having things feel like random inserts.

It's painfully obvious that at one point Grogu was not supposed to be around right now. The show has no idea what to do with him and it would have been so, so much better to keep him apart from Mando for most or all of this season (which could have been built up to a meaningful reunion). Such a bad decision to not stick to the narrative decisions/outcomes of season 2.

It doesn't just feel like the show is written for 12 year olds - it feels like it's written by 12 year olds. There's little to no dramatic tension and the action has barely any stakes. The enemies are all boring and far too easily dispatched. It's also hard to care about any of the characters, which mostly have the depth of a puddle that's almost dried up.

That being said, there was some dumb fun and entertaining/cool parts and at least this week I didn't feel like it was a total waste of time to watch.

If it was just him attacking them, maybe. I could see him saying "It's the/that Mandalorian". But they're being attacked by a group of Mandalorians. His pirates on the street are in a gun fight with them. And he's like it's THE Mandalorian to just Din.

It's more like the character is calling him that because that's what the show is called. It's almost as if he said "It's Superman". "it's the Rocketeer".

Speaking of bad dialogue, the best/worst line in this entire series appeared in season 1 when Greef sent a hologram message and said, "Mando! If you're receiving this message that means you're alive!" Amazing! So dumb that I love it.

When Din heard that was he thinking, "huh...I am hearing this! I guess that means I am alive! I didn't know that until now!!!"

That’s a very literal take on what Greef is saying. Greef speaks in a flowery dramatic and often old fashion way.

That line is a way to congratulate and recognize Mando’s accomplishment of evading everyone on his trial so long. Greef follows it up with a false invitation to team up and push the Imperials out of Navarro.

It’s meant as a trap but after Grogu heals Greef with the Force Greef does team up with Mando for real.
