This is what they showed us at Celebration last week. My guess us that it will scratch a few itches and leave fans wanting more, but I’ll sit back and watch instead of actively comment.

    That was epic

    RIP Paz!!!

I have no idea how this series is going to end.

apart from a thrawn end credit scene.

I’m still hoping for a Boba/Ahsoka and co.. appearance but hope is fading.

    10/10 this week

I suspect someone is coming to help the Mandos, I reckon it will be Ahsoka and/or Sabine + friends, including the NR pilot.

Can we get a head count on the members of the Shadow Council? I want to say at least one of them was Warlord Zsinj. Funny how they’re just completely ignoring Rae Sloane. That one dude just looks like Aleister Crowley.

I think Boba Fett is gonna 100% show up next episode. Him and Din are gonna have a never ending chain of favors to one another.

Phenomenal episode! Disney seriously needs to stop pumping budget into the first two and last two episodes of their original series and having everything in between look really cheap.

Well, they needed a perfect episode to make up for last week -- and this exceeded perfection.

It has everything I've wanted from the show: amazing action with depth and character. Punches in the gut, and heroism.

    This is the way!

    A+++

Looked like someone had repurposed a super battle droid's head as a pauldron.

I like what they’ve done with Moff Gideon here. He’s an Imperial and has connections to the larger picture but he’s definitely a Mandalorian enemy. He destroyed their planet and has now appropriated it for his own designs. He’s even made himself his own Mandalorian armor.

Impressive, most impressive. They really set up the finale, I wonder what the naysayers are saying now? Probably 'nay,' but that was a spectacular episode, with a spectacular ending.
I didn't have "Mecha Grogu" on my bingo card!

I wonder if they are setting him up as a rival to Thrawn, seemed like it.

So, correct me if I’m wrong, but Gideon’s ultimate goal was not to resurrect Palpatine (though he was contracted by Brendol to assist), but to create an army of force powered clone Mandalorians supercommandos at his disposal?

This has nothing to do with the episode but it came to me as I was watching it. I bet Lizzo and Jack Black help rebuild Mandalore once Gideon is gone. The domed cities on Plazir-15 are already quite similar to the ones used on Mandalore.

Good shout. They did say they would petition the Republic to recognise Mandalore as a sovereign state.

Excellent episode - 9/10 on my first viewing on my phone while at work. Could this be my first 10/10 when I watch it on a big screen with my full attention later tonight?

I can't really share the overall excitement for this episode to be honest. It was enjoyable certainly but for me by no means great. I actually like it less than last episode but I'm probably an outlier with that one.

There were certainly a lot of good elements though:

    - The meeting with the Mando survivors and nearly all the scenes on the Mando skiff were absolutely amazing and finally led to some questions being answered at long last.
    - The scenes on Nevarro were brilliant. I knew about Grogu getting an IG suit from the leaks and I was skeptical but the execution was actually brilliant and provided some much needed levity for the episode.
    - The Shadow Council meeting at the beginning was also really good and interesting to see how Pellaeon and Hux are playing the Council here. No Rae Sloane was a small disappointment though, this would've been an excellent place to bring her into the TV shows.
-Din getting captured was kind of intresting, even though not unexpected. This might really give him an opportunity to shine next week.
-Axe and the Armorer being the people with the fleet right now is certainly an intresting pairing, I hope they use that in the next episode.
-Bo-Katan continues to be the highlight of this season.

    What I didn't like:

    - Unfortunately this season for me continues with the unfortunate trend of flattening Mandalorian culture. I still feel like the Mando arcs in Clone Wars and Rebels portrayed Mando culture a lot more nuanced, than 3 seasons of a show called The Mandalorian really managed so far. When they met the Mando survivors I'd really hoped to finally see some unarmored Mandos but it was not to be. But this is more a personal disappointment, it's just not the story this show wants to tell. I don't understand why but it is what it is.
    - The monster scene with the skiff really did nothing for me, I'm so tired of Favreaus love for giant monsters and I honestly think Star Wars works perfectly well without them.
-The action scenes at the end were also not really for me. I'm still holding out some hope that Gideons troop are not just randos in Beskar armor but actually Imperial Supercommandos but considering the shows track record it's quite slim. Also I'm so over Gideon as an enemy, his scenes really do nothing for me anymore. He really should have stayed gone after Season 2 and they should've introduced a new villain.
-Paz heroic sacrifice also left me quite cold, never really cared for the character and always felt he was some kind of overpowered Favreau self insert, so I'm actually glad he is gone and I guess somewhat had to die to establish the Praetorian Guards threat. Though honestly three of them taking down one wounded and exhausted Paz also only did that semi effectively.

Overall it was a good episode, I'll give it 7/10. But it also proved to me once again, that this is just never gonna be anywhere close to my favourite show.

Pellaeon is played by Xander Berkeley.

I didn’t recognize the name, then I looked him up and realized he’s in pretty much every movie and tv show I’ve ever liked (step father in Terminator 2, Gregory on The Walking Dead)
