So first MSW said that Mando s4 was being turned into a movie and Sneider said he was wrong. Now it’s the other way around. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t a Star Wars fan…

Not quite. A while back, MSW said that Lucasfilm was entertaining the option of Mando S4 being turned into a film depending on the results of the strikes, and Sneider at the time said that wasn’t the case. Now MSW is saying that they decided not to go that route, and Sneider is saying they are. So,,,blurg.

 

Two credible sources in conflict

This is what happens when people think that some sources which happened to get a couple of things right once in a blue moon, are credible sources. It is also what happens when fortune tellers and false prophets make a billion predictions and 5 of them come true. People start to believe that they might be on to something. At this point in time, LFL and the Filoni group might not even have decided what Season 4 will look like and if there will be a movie, but apparently Bespin Bulletin and whatever other website out there entertains theories and predictions know better even than Filoni and Favreau.

I would personally hate the idea of getting the ending (or a chapter?) of this story as a movie. I would rather get Season 4 (and why not 5 and 6 - they have an empty canvas and the characters to tell the stories) as well if possible. I know this is probably financially less profitable for the greedy corporations, but I can still hope. After all, Rebellions were built on hope.

I think The Marvels has put Disney not in the mood to spin off their streaming TV shows theatrically.

That’s a bit unfair to leakers such as BB to say they only get things right every once in a blue moon puts them on the same level as Mike Zeroh or Doomcock

 

Well to me all of these are indifferent and I have zero interest in following any of them.
I don't even know why anyone would care about the rankings of various Star Wars theorists.
It's not like they have awards and Olympics and whatnot.

To the point, I have seen a lot more incorrect "inside info" posted by Bespin Bulletin than correct.

 

Some of them get things right once in a blue moon; some of that is because they got an accurate nugget from a source, but more of it is probably luck. Others of them never get things right.

 

Doesn’t really matter does it?

 

Until we get a real statement from LFL, I'll continue doubting this movie is real.

But I kind of hope it is real, just to see how a Mando/Grogu movie would play out on the big screen.

 

As some people already mentioned, it’s only just rumors and no official confirmation. I’m on the camp that prefers a Mandalorian movie at this point. I’m tired of all these TV shows and their filler episodes and “let’s see what happens next season” endings. Star Wars started out as movies first and foremost so let’s bring it back to the big screen since it’s been a decent break from theatrical releases. Mando and Grogu have huge brand recognition that I think most people will come to the theaters to see them and with a good story and direction it can put people up to speed if they haven’t watched all episodes of the show. I want Star Wars to come back to theaters and to feel like an event like they used to be. Disney needs it and knows it too so it’s a realistic possibility that starting after 2024 that we might see more Star Wars movies and less shows.

 

I’m 50/50. I think Mando specifically may work better as a show, but I think Star Wars overall works better as a movie, and Djarin and Grogu themselves are big enough now where they can exist in the movie space.

Let’s put it this way: if we get a mando s4 on the quality of s1, then I want it to stay as a show, but if it’s gonna be on the quality of s3 (underrated but still kinda bad), then I’d rather they cut out all the fluff and make it a movie.
