Awful news. Talented and funny actor. I was unaware if he had any illnesses, he always appeared spry for a 76-year old man.

My favorite performance from him was always on Arrested Development where he played a schmoozer version of himself. Baby, you've got a stew going!

I adjusted my evening plans to include rewatching "Happy Gilmore" yet again, partially because I needed the laughs but mostly because I think that's how Carl would want us to remember him - doing what he loved to do and making us smile while he did it. "It's all in the hips!"

 

I actually saw Rocky for the very first time tonight. I know, I'm weird. (And I had even seen Rocky V first!)

 

Ray Stevenson, and now this

 

I hope they serve ribs at his funeral.

The fact is, if you're an actor, musician, or some other celebrity and you're poking the beehive with anything political on social media...blowback is going to happen, if not from one side then both. I have no idea why most folks even bother using it for these purposes in the age of cancel culture, when things often lack nuance and can be taken out of context. Even if you have the greatest intentions, you can find yourself in the worst situation.

I was Team Gina for the longest time, when most people were criticizing her, her character, her acting, and all kinds of stuff. Then I saw the kinds of memes and other garbage she was sharing and it was generally just the same old tired "I'm so oppressed!" dreck that the alt-righters latch on to to feel important and noble. Whether or not she was connected to them or shared their views isn't too important; they see her as a pariah and a hero in the fight against Disney, all of which just fuels their own self-sustained illusions.

 

She's definitely losing that suit. In fact, I'm willing to bet it's dropped sooner than later.

 

All shed done is shown up in daily wire ben Shapiro masturbatory vehicles. She definitely thought she had a in with the alt right bunch.

It would be a major shift in how the US handles employment lawsuits.

Which, to be frank, are hard enough to win anyway unless your boss was dumb enough to record that they were firing you for an illegal reason - and even then I don't think a company can be forced to rehire someone, just to pay damages.

 

I highly doubt she’ll win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney settles and she walks away with a payout.

 

Her contract wasn't renewed. She's effectively suing because they wrote her out of a show, which happens to countless actors and actresses across countless shows. She has no case.

 

Cancel Culture is on the way out though
