    Considering that he is being a Schrödinger's cat in NU Canon since Life Debt, his return will be much appreciated.
    By the way, Durga can be a fun antagonist for the film, working with Imperial warlords and fighting for Jabba's former territories, while in his conversations with Xizor the latter can be established as major villain in Mandoverse.

    I imagined that Wendig left the death vague as it was a film character and it was early days in the new continuity.

    Both Mon Mothma and Ackbar lived longer in Canon than Legends, after all.

    I appreciated it as Darksaber ended up set after Aftermath in One Canon.
