sort of (i think) but he seems more like a virus because the Oracle and the Keymaker etc seemed to have been given the choice of deletion or exile when they became obsolete, Smith openly rejected the death that was forced upon him

i guess a virus would be a better definition as he is multiplying constantly.

I love the Matrix and the concepts of it; but after seeing this film, I think there is a real danger of it becoming a load of facetious twaddle. :( Especially with all the real world vs 'real world' vs Matrix aspects. I was underwhelmed I'm afraid. :(

I jus hope it doesnt go the way of 'Twin Peaks'- where the plot goes out the window and even the guys making it havent a clue what its about- in their attempt to seem 'clever'

I have the same problem in my computer. I just updated DirectX and already the old version has run off and started it's own underground syndicate. Now i'm gonna have to go in there and get all kung fu on it's ass.

jus watched the matrix (the first one) again last nite and something occurred to me- Agent Smith acts 'strangely' near the end of the film when interrogating Morpheus- he asks the other agents to leave him alone with Morpheus then takes out his ear piece and acts 'differently', kinda as if on his own with out orders, then the other agents come in and ask him what he was doing as if he had been up to something. Then in Reloaded he comes back 'different'. This will have obviously been spotted by some of you before. But maybe I'm reading TOO much into it or is there something more to Agent Smith than meets the eye?

Have you had a look at the Matrix Reloaded thread on the Amphitheatre forum TK_Four_Two_One.Someone has posted alleged Matrix Revolutions spoilers indicating that Smith still has a very significant role to play. Don?t know if you?re keeping spoiler free for the next one, so I won?t post any details. But yeah, it does look like there?s more to Smith than meets the eye.

I saw it at the weekend, heres what I thought:

i'm still thinking about this film alot (i saw it wednesday) it's fight scenes are good but some are too long and there are some unnecessary parts (the rave). for me the pretty much the whole first hour was too drawn out and could have been dealt with in about 20 minutes. i'm glad that it was actually thought provoking and engaging because i couldn't see how it could be anything more than an action film unless they went with a Matrix within a Matrix situation (which is kinda what they've done and may even be it exactly depending on how Revolutions turns out)

Hugo Weaving was superb and i'm glad he got to deliver the beautiful 'Misssterr Andersonnn' line a few times.

some scenes (like the external shots of the Neb) were too effects laden for my liking and it seemed like they just wanted to use up their budget alot the time

the Architect scene was very well scripted and made all of the philosophy throughout the film tie-in together to make the philosophy seem more of an integral part of the story rather than just another aspect that had to be in there because it is a defining aspect of the film. it also explained alot about the Oracle while posing new questions, it also shows how she may have orchestrated the love between Neo and Trinity, but i'm not sure to what end yet

    sorry, i'm Rambling, i'll stop

On the subject of Smith, I think that the line about him having some sort of connection with Neo after he killed him had something to do with it. Maybe he picked up a bit of the humanity virus. Considering a bloke in the real world wanted to kill Neo and Smith cloned into the person just about to exit the matrix I think something like Smith can infect the humans and get in the real world......or I speak balls

Last week I was going to buy some bruces for a party but then I didnt for some reason. I was reduced to having to buy the Morrison's equivalent (Canada Gold). It is just as nasty but does the job just as well(although not as classy)

I saw Reloaded Monday and it took me a while to actually fully decide what I thought of it. Parts of it I loved, parts of it I thought were a bore (like that scene in the restaurant - I kinda zoned out due to the boredom there).

Anyway overall I do like it but it was lacking that amazement factor I found in the first movie.

And surely they could've come up with a better cliffhanger then that? They should've ended it when Neo had to choose between the two doors, not with Neo in a coma. Talk about an anticlimax. It's annoying!!! If they'd ended it when Neo had to choose between the doors I would've been desperate to see the third movie. At the moment the only reason I want to see the third movie is so the second one is less up in the air.

Well don't hold your breath for it Ginger....it aint worth seeing that too. I have a feeling that the third one will turn out to be a waste of time to watch.
