Thanks for the responses, guys. I've been fiddling with some extensions to earlier chapters, which I'll be updating as an aside to what I've posted, or may throw into a chapter of their own. Hopefully these updates will be as well recieved as the others. [face_peace]

CeiranHarmony: Good to see you around the fanfic boards, Ceiran! One PM update coming shortly!

DarthEL: Glad you're enjoying it! We may not necessarily get extra scenes from Leia, but definitely from Luke, though I am considering putting a Leia scene in the week gap we have in the story. And welcome to the update list. [face_peace]

    Chapter 4.5

It?s a strange thing, loyalty. Galactic Alliance Colonel Tycho Celchu stood on the observation platform of the Trucemaker, with Admiral Gavin Darklighter, the two ex-Rogues staring into space, angular Destroyers surrounding the blocky shapes of Verpine freighters and transports. Lord Caedus had focused production into the easily mass-produced Star Destroyers rather than the slower to build Mon Calamari cruisers, and so the majority of the Galactic Alliance fleet resembled the Imperial fleet of old. Considering the actions of Niathal and many other officers from Mon Calamari, such foresight had instilled a sense of divinity to the Chief of State.

But Tycho hadn?t stayed loyal to the Galactic Alliance over the Jedi Coalition and Confederation because it reminded him of the Empire. He still carried the pain of Alderaan within him, but he?d spent more of his adult life without a homeworld than with one. Time dulled such aches, but that didn?t mean Tycho was loyal enough to bear another Palpatine in Jacen Solo. The Confederation was in the wrong, and the Jedi Coalition?s efforts should be focused against Jacen, not Admiral Niathal. If Tycho could save lives by working against Caedus from the inside, then he would, but he would not betray his belief in the Galactic Alliance as the only government worth protecting.

Tycho finally made out a shadow glistening blocking a star, pressing a button on the wall display and speaking to the Captain. ?They?re going for the Ansta, bridge.?

    ?Acknowledged, Colonel Celchu.?

A moment later, he and Gavin watched as the turbolasers of the Trucemaker fired, apparently blindly, into space surrounding the task force. The Verpine freighter was surrounded by a tunnel of green flame, and something flared in space. StealthX debris became apparent, and Gavin tapped the wall himself.

?Sensors, do we have a beacon??

?No sir, no sign of a Jedi.?

Gavin pulled away, swearing. ?Sithspawn, Tycho. I?ve killed more Jedi today than Confederates. What is Luke thinking, sending his forces after the supply train? Doesn?t he want the GA to win the war??

?Of course he does, but even if he does take Caedus out of the picture, the Jedi still want the war to end. If the GA is more powerful than everyone else, the war won?t end. And the GA will stay exactly like it is now, preferring Remnant muscle to Hapan honour, and condoning the attacks on Kashyyyk and Fondor ? fighting a total war which will never end.? Tycho felt like he was representing the Jedi, and it just made his betrayal of them at Centerpoint even more sickening. You were shot for that, you?ve paid for it, remember. Wedge would have understood.

?Caedus is no worse than Niathal. But at least he has Coruscant, the GA fleet, and isn?t working with the Confederation.? Tycho knew otherwise about Niathal, through Syal, but didn?t comment. Gavin was just venting, like he did in his youth. Though to be fair, the situation was so complex and ridiculous that all you could do was find an enemy and go after them. It wasn?t a clear-cut right and wrong scenario.

?But Caedus has Tebut,? said Tycho. ?And Kashyyyk and Fondor. Probably Commenor, too, to account for.?

    ?Sure,? said

So Wedge, Wes, Cheriss, Winter and Valin are off to rescue Tycho. Who wouldn't need rescuing if not for the stupid fish. Niathal's no better than Jacen.

This should be very good indeed. *rubs hands together*

    Great update! CJM

Your Niathal is a cold hearted *****. I like that.[face_mischief]
Can't wait to see how they extract Tycho - this should be good.

Please keep "fiddling" with those chapters! It's a blast reading your version of this!=D=

I've had to lend my laptop to my girlfriend's sister, and forgot to take the plan for the next chapter off the laptop. As such, I won't have anything new up until Saturday, at the very earliest, which is a little irritating. Sorry, guys!

canadianjedimama: Yup. Niathal's inconsequential, angry and now, none too far from megalomania. But I'm glad you're enjoying the merry band I've put together. [face_peace]

Master_Keralys: Thanks! I should have a new piece to hand to you before the end of the week, so get ready for it!

Jag4Me: The segment was a bit heavy, so Wes was incredibly helpful, in that respect. Have to love the man! To the fiddling, I'll stick my addition to the first chapter up with the latest chapter, so as to save on PM's. All Lobot, for once, which'll be fun.

GrandMasterKatarn: Glad you're enjoying it! Next one won't be too far off. :)

NightSword: Welcome to the fic! Consider yourself added!

Ultima_1: My hope is to cover everyone who should've made an appearance, and gained closure, from the final act. And you've been added.

J_K_Dart: I fully intend to print off the extra pages in the right size and stick them in my copy of Invincible, when I'm finished. Then I'll read the whole thing again and smile, I hope!

Robimus: Wedge and Luke have so little screen time as a pair, so I'm really pleased I managed to get them perfect. We're not far from Daala's first PoV, don't worry. I'll be adjusting a few things, no doubt, from Revelation. ;) And... I can't comment on Tarfang.

    Yet. ;)

I've been informed that I may have to edit varying elements of my chapters to meet with the newest book, the Millennium Falcon. I shall be doing so in time, but for now I will be continuing, and editing in the newest parts of the chapters as I go along. I won't be delving into spoilers, because these are just direction changes.

I hope to have a new chapter up by the end of the week, nonetheless. I've been distracted by Death Note. [face_blush]

I have to echo some of the comments, this really is an interesting work you've started. I particularly like the characterization. You really nail it there. Niathal really is a cold, ambitious character that seems to have bitten of more than she could chew. At this point in the story she is weary and irritable which you show the reader well with her thinking about how long it has been since she had a good night sleep or was in the water. Her dialogue works well too because the tone was evident. Yor quote concerning the GA in exile's fleet also worked well, "...lead by a madwoman, an Admiral, and a politician. At least a third of the crews weren't sure which was which." It was an insightful quote that demonstrated just how maddeningly confusing these times were.
Thanks for the the work you've done, Sinrebirth. I think I'll have to print these up and insert them in my copy of the book as well.

I'm not normally a fanfic reader --- and by that, I mean that I haven't read a fanfic, of any sort, in probably about six years. But over the last few months, I've been intrigued by the link in your signature, SinRebirth, and randomly decided to check this out. And I must say, that I'm very impressed by it. The plot points that you're including range from points that were done a great injustice by not having any closure in Invincible, such as the actions of the GA-in-Exile and Confederation --- to points that Denning realistically could have gotten away with not including, but are much better off being included, such as Wedge's and Valin's guilt.

I also love that you're writing this logically. The characters are acting how they realistically would have acted at the end of the Alliance-Confederation War, rather than in the ways that angry fanboys would want them to. The round-table scenes with Daala, Niathal, et al were done very well, and I found myself surprised by Tycho's actions, while at the same time realizing that they were completely in line with what this war has turned him into.

If these scenes had been included in Invincible, it would have made Legacy of the Force seem more like a coherent series. If the final act had included closure of the various major and minor plot points introduced throughout the series, it would have done wonders towards making a very disjointed loose-series into a coherent tight one. Especially small things, like Valin taking Seha as an apprentice. Awesome.

If I have one small criticism, it's Niathal's musings about instituting a Galactic Alliance Triumvirate. Only because I feel like it's too early in the timeline to start shoehorning in setups for Legacy just for the sake of shoehorning them in.

Definitely add me to the PM list. [face_peace]

This is one of the best fics that I have read in a long time. Your usage of canon is impeccable, and you are filling in all of the gaps left by Lotf, and Invincible in particular. I was especially pleased to see you include the One Sith, because I felt that it was a poor decision to simply end their involvement in Fury. I also enjoyed the solving of the mystery of the Asteroid tactic used against Commenor, interesting that the One Sith were responsible. I enjoy the fact that you are using Tycho, Gavin, and all of the other characters whose plot lines were not included in Invincible. I am crossing my fingers hoping for an update soon, and I look forward to reading about Rodan and Phennir in particular.

Alright, the updates to the previous chapters have been completed, as has the actual chapter udpate. I'm simply waiting for my proof-readers to get through them, and I'll have them all up. Now, to the comments I've missed...

spicewood: I'm glad you're still enjoying these! Niathal has evolved into one my favourite characters to use, as she's so defined at this point, and quite understandable in her decisions, for better or for worse. She's still on the right side, but still very close to the line Caedus crossed.

Jeff_Ferguson: I am pleased to have enticed a Litzen back to the Fanfic, then, if only for this story. I'm glad that you approve of the direction I've been taking the cast, especially in relation to the little details involving Valin, Wedge and Seha. I actually didn't mean to foreshadow Legacy that much - it slipped in during an edit, without me thinking about it. And I've added you. [face_peace]

Jag4Me: Oh, Death Note has cost me many, many hours of my life, now. [face_blush] Don't get addicted to it! I try to stay away from anime and manga because it's either mind-numbingly bad or horrendously addictive! There's no middle ground!

Vialco: Your praise embarrasses me, Vialco! I'm glad you're enjoying the tidbits, and that you picked out the Commenori information. It might be changed by canon at some point, I expect, but it's interesting nonetheless. We will be seeing a lot more of the One Sith in later chapters, especially Dician. [face_devil]

2.5 - Rogriss and Adumar scene
4.5 - Scene set on Mon Calamari between Gron Marrab and Pwoe
5.5 - The Phennir and Rodan scene is included within this update, featuring Caedus, Tycho, Lando, Wes, Booster, Winter, Wedge, Iella...

Oh ok, so the updates aren't there yet. I'm looking forward to seeing Lobot, I presume he is still on Bespin. And Rogriss, I always wanted to see more of him, he is an interesting character, seeing as he abandoned the Empire for Adumar, and now he is opposing the GA. Pwoe is still free, I thought he would be in jail, and Gron Marrab, you are a master of using all pieces of canon, are you sure you're not channeling James Luceno? Anyway, I am really looking forward to the next update, hopefully your betas will move quickly. Thanks for the reply.

Still no update, maybe tommorrow, [face_praying] I was wondering whether you could shed some light in one of the chapters as to how the Battle of Roche was actually ended, because I felt that that was one of the greatest lacks in Invincible. All we get there is how Bwua'tu brought trapped the Condeferation Fleets, but we don't learn how, or whether he managed to destroy them. Also, will you be giving an official fate to Niathal, because the novel is inconclusive to whether or not she survived Ocean's destruction, though Denning has said that he believes she is alive. Still waiting for an update, maybe today [face_praying]

Thank you, that is an immense consolation. The additions are fantastic, it was nice to see the war in all of the Confederation, not just Corellia and Fondor. Now we have Bespin and Adumar too, although there is still no Bothawui, maybe we'll see that in chapters to come.

Anyway, thanks for posting the additions, and sorry if I am too pushy in asking for an update, I'm crazy that way. Lobot's scene was well written, and the forces that Bespin was using were well drawn from canon, the use of shieldships in particular was inspired, as Bespin has never had a fleet. The way Lobot coordinated his forces was eerily reminiscent of Caedus's battle meditation.

Rogriss is good, but he failed to beat Ackbar decades ago, and he is failing again. Still, it was nice to see the character that Allston created, then abandoned, I was sure that he would put Rogriss in Lotf. It doesn't matter now, since you have done so, and, if I may say so, Allston himself couldn't have done better.

    Pwoe, dead ?

    :D

    [face_dancing]

I was a bit surprised at the way Gron Marrab just killed him, won't he get into trouble for that. No, the Mon Cal's will probably just look the other way, and everyone will say, oh what a tragic accident, the blaster misfired, :D

All in all, great additions, and thank you, these were a marvelous consolation, still awaiting the next chapter, with renwed patience, this fic is worth waiting for.

I made Pwoe's fate purposely vague, so you have the opportunity to throw your own conclusion upon the canon. I expect Pwoe will pop back up one day, as much as Sal-Solo did.

Bothawui I'll be touching upon, definitely, but you aren't pushy at all; I'm glad to see someone is enjoying reading these updates as much as I am writing them. I'm glad you enjoyed the inclusions of Lobot and Rogriss, I very much wanted to see the rest of the Confederation touched upon.

And... in my next post shall be the update. :D

    Chapter 5.5

Darth Caedus found himself looking down at Tycho Celchu and mourning his choices. It wasn?t the first time, either. When he looked at the man strapped to a table in the medical centre in Nickel One, he found that the Force was interposing images of other people he could see on such a table ? one moment it was Ben, the next Shevu, the next a woman he did not recognise, and could not clearly work out whom it was before the image faded. If there was one aspect of being a Sith that he disliked, after a fashion, it was staring into the face of another, and inflicting pain upon them.

It was his personal weakness, but when he looked beyond the person beyond him, and saw himself reflected in them ? and his own eyes ? he saw his daughter?s eyes, Allana, and knew that he was doing the right thing.

His own personal grievances were swept aside, and he nodded to himself, stepping into the light spilling down upon Tycho. The rest of the room was blanketed in darkness, and the white pouring down so intense that the rest of the room was impossible to see from within the light. Tycho?s eyes registered the shadow that was Caedus, and looked over, his fists curling under his restraints.

    ?Greetings, Colonel Celchu.?

    Tycho smiled, candidly. ?Hello, Jacen.?

Caedus returned the smile, as truthful as he could, considering the man was a traitor. It was all show, of course, but appearances had to be kept. He held nothing against a man with honour and skill, of course, but that didn?t mean he would let such a disrespectful beginning go unchecked.

He cupped his hand, and choked the man with the Force, Tycho?s eyes widening. ?My name is Darth Caedus, Colonel. It would do for you to remember that.?

?Funny -? choked Tycho, his throat rippling against the invisible grip, ?all I see is Jacen dressed in drag.?

Caedus allowed his anger to touch the Force, and felt the tantalising power reach his eyes, glowing golden. His smile turned carnivorous at the same time, and Tycho seemed to shrink back into the table. ?Are you done?? He tightened the grip, preventing Tycho from speaking.

Tycho?s eyes burned, but he did not nod or indicate acquiescence. Sighing, Caedus released him. ?I don?t enjoy this, you realise. I?m only doing it because you?ve betrayed me, when you really needn?t have.?

?We?ll have to agree to disagree about that.? Tycho cleared his throat, coughing a few times, ?You do realise I was tortured by the Empire before you were even born??

    ?And??

?The Empire had decades to perfect torturing people.?

Caedus stepped forward, leaning over Tycho. ?I?m not going to be the one who?s torturing you.?

Tycho blinked, once, and responded. ?One of your GAG goons from the Empire? I?m not scared, Jacen.?

?Last chance, Colonel ? what are Niathal and Daala upto?? Caedus found smugness was crawling into his voice, but it couldn?t be helped. He?d warned him several times, now, and he deserved entirely what he was about to receive. As a traitor, as a fool, and as a man with entirely appalling manners

?Go throw yourself in a Sarlacc.?

?I am sorry I have to do this, Tycho, I really am.? He closed his eyes and clapped his hands, a single snap of Force energy activating the rest of the lights. Tycho?s eyes flickered as they tried to equalise with his expanded surroundings. In that short moment, Caedus stepped away, getting out of the way.

Caedus leaned on the wall and folded his arms as the Embrace of Pain reached down from the ceiling for Tycho, wrapping its tentacles around him, creatures skittering down the limbs to nibble at the skin and hair. Thorns cut into his skin, and Tycho was drawn from the table, the Embrace yanking him in the restraints, which cut into his skin and oozed blood.

As Tycho?s screams filled the room, Caedus marvelled at his old friend. They?d known each other for years, and it was another person who was just as much apart of him as any. It was beautiful, after a fashion. He had very few guilty pleasures, now. So few friends to call upon, to trust, and to love ? the World Brain killed by Bothan assassins, I
