WHO IS THE MOST POWERFUL SITH/JEDI OF ALL TIME!! I WOULD SAY Anakin Skywalker because at his age..he was more powerful than everyone in the jedi order and he defeated dooku who has had 50+ years of experience...plus he has the highest midichlorian count ever..up till now in the eu...and he basicly the emboidment of the force as a human being..just as jesus is the emboidment of god as a human!!!!!

True enough, however he is extremely prideful and headstrong, which ultimately weakens him considerably. I'd don't know hwo I would say though.

Obi Wan is the most powerful. He let Darth Vader defeat him.

there is no all powerful jedi. All of the jedi/sith were made to be all powerful in specific areas so there is no true great one

From what I have heard, years after Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker becomes the most powerful Jedi ever.

Luke is, as he has a potential close to if not equal to Anakin's and he's actually achieving it. I mean he defeated the Emperor's Clone, brought down a Star Destroyer using the Force, manipulated a black hole, cloaked a ship, and other things that the movies didn't replicate.

I'm split in 4 for this one.

Sidious was no doubt a powerful sith lord, and an amazing "evil genius". He managed to manipulate the old republic, turn Anakin, and found the empire. But he was ultimately destroyed by his overconfidence.

Obi-wan may not have been amazingly powerful, but he is wise and cunning. This can be seen in his fight with Anakin, but it is ultimately his trust in his apprentice that is his downfall.

Anakin is with a doubt the chosen one, and therefore amazingly powerful. However, his fears and emotions blind him and diminish his power somewhat. In the end it's his emotions that turn him to the dark side, but also his emotions that turn him back.

Luke is the embodiement of Yoda, Obi-wan and Anakin. Emotive, with a strong sense for what is just. Cunning, yet ready to put his life on the line for his friends. Wise, and ready to find the good in people who may have been steeped in the Dark Side for years.

Oh, and Yoda is pretty wise, funny and powerful, but he doesn't top my list. Tied for second with Dooku. o_O

Well if we are to count EU then Luke.

Yoda is at the top. For obvious reasons. WIth Sidious as a very close second.

Anakin could have been stronger than ANYBODY, but given his arrogance and stupidity never got there

Sidious is stronger than Yoda there is a reason he said he failed and had to go in exile. And Qui-Gon is the one who learned how to come back after death.

Actually the reason is that he was never meant to kill Sidious, only Anakin.

And Qui-Gon died first so yes, he learned it first because he died first.

If it is Anakin then you should change the title of the thread to 'The most powerful Force user of all time for their age!'

    I would say Anakin WAS.
    The most powerful one ever......hmmmmm.....Yoda.
Yoda and Palpy seemed like the most powerful Jedi/Sith of the time the movies covered.

    ^That's only in EU.
I still say that Yoda was the most powerful in the movies.
Luke's the most powerful in EU because he's kinda the last Jedi of the first Jedi Order. Yoda used his teachings from years past in Luke. So we could think of Luke as the last original Jedi.

The Jedi academy has Luke in the Yoda role. Everyone is taught through Luke's teachings. Luke had the ways of the ancient order to learn from. Surely no one can rival Luke in the EU. Because Luke was taught with the practice of the first Order. That Order and the style of training Luke got spawned Mace, Dooku, Qui-gon and Obi-wan.

Luke only has Mara and his sister to really contend with as far as who is better in EU. When we expand this to the Saga and the entire Star Wars Galaxy, Luke has others to contend with.

    only in EU is Luke
The movies its proably Qui-Gon since he is the one who figured out how to become immortal.
    Then Sidious, Anakin.

Luke isn't the Last of the Old.

He's the first of the New.

Also, Mara and Leia's power so far really can't even compare to Luke's however Leia may in time but I think if you want anyone who's rivaling Luke's power it probably has to be Jacen which is why I'm really hoping Del Rey sticks to their guns and makes Jacen go Dark.

Sidious over Yoda, only just. Sidious did win. Though the novel implies Sidious was much stronger.

I'd say Anakin/Luke. Closely followed by Jacen/Sidious/Kadann. Then Yoda/Dooku/Obi-Wan/Darth Vader. Then Mace/Mara/maybe Leia. Spiralling down from there.

The loop is - Obi-Wan beat Anakin, but Dooku beat Obi-Wan, but Anakin beat Dooku, but Dooku drew with Yoda, but Yoda lost to Sidious, but Obi-Wan lost to Jango, and Jango lost to Mace, but Mace was equal to Dooku, but lost to Sidious.

    Seeeeee? :p

Dooku and Palps beat Obi-Wan not just Dooku in ROTS. Did no one else catch it that Palps influenced Dooku's force choke and throw. Palps had to get Obi out of the fight otherwise Ani would have never killed him. By time of ROTS Obi-Wan would be able to beat Dooku by himself
