Okay, I have no idea what filmmakers call it. Does anyone know how to create that fuzz/textured look to movies? You know how home-recorded tapes have that clean, high-frame-rate look while movies have that textured, lower-frame-rate look? What is that called and how do you add it to your movie file? I've noticed quite a few of the FanFilms do not have that detail incorporated to their films.

I think you're referring to "grain". Most compositing software creates this type of effect using some kind of a "noise" plug in. As for the frame rate issue, this is something that has been brought up lots in this forum . PixelMagic did a tutorial that covered this somewhere- its location escapes me at the moment. Try doing a google search for "giving video a film look" and you will find some tutes for creating that kind of an effect.

During spring break, a friend came down from college and we redid a scene from Empire Records...anyway, I exported everything in Premiere since I had to sync up the audio (I found Premiere to be best for that) and while exporting, I played around with the Render Options and it came out very profesional looking.

What really tips it is the 24 or 25 fps and the gaussian blur in premiere render options. I highly recommend playing around with them.
