    Bad day for me. Jimmie in 2nd was my only highlight.

    Boy, I love Fontana. [face_plain]

    I had one of the best naps I'd had in a while from about 80 to go to 30 to go, and not much changed.

    That interview with Rusty remided me (not that I needed it) why he is by far my favorite of the veterans. Even when's he angry, instead of spitting out foul stuff **COUGH**Harvick**COUGH** ( 8-} ) he just gives Tony some friendly advice on what to do. 8-}

    He 'Respectfully Declined' an interview after tha race, too. [face_mischief]

    Glad to see Jeffy win again. I still do like Jeff, and Jimmie in 2nd, not a too bad week for the Hendrick boys. :D

    Well, I think telling someone to shove their finger up their rear end is pretty foul, but pretty funny too. [face_laugh]

    Not suprising. Stewart's been that way for years. If things don't go his way, he goes off to cry and toss things in his motorcoach, while Zipadelli does the talking to the media. I understand the guy's dedication and passion for his job, but man, sometimes things don't go your way. He's got to deal with it.

    Another bad California race, boring, we all know how bad it was.

    Now for exciting matters... ;)

    Stewart really needs a good whipping. He can't continue to wreck drivers week after week. I don't know exactly what's gotten over him, but my dad and i have a good idea.

    Tony is fed up with the sport as it is nowadays. He doesn't care what happens anymore, and he's not having fun. What he really wants is, he wants to go back to IRL and run races there, along with the Indy 500. He hates how things are "scripted" out in Nascar, and he just doesn't want to put up with it anymore.

    No, that's not a reason to wreck everyone on the track, but that's probably what's going through his mind.

    I'll be a little clearer. 8-}

    Harvick of the past. Nascar's suspension really got to him, and I think it'd do the same for Stewart.

    I still am not a Harvick fan, though. 8-}

    Mak, Rusty can say anything he wants to. With all he's been through and done, he has the right. 8-}

    Okay, Cup's off this weekend and Busch is in St. Louis, right? Boy, I wish I could go. I'd love to see a night race. And a short track race. :(

    Gateway is kind of like a flat Darlington. Turns 1 and 2 are different from 3 and 4. It's an okay track, but definitely needs more banking.

    I've read on other message boards, people suggesting that Stewart undergo a drug test. What do you think guys? As crazy as it sounds, it may not be a bad idea. He's never been this reckless before.

    Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys! I'm going to Gateway again this year! Yes, it's back to a night race. It seems like every year it changes. Last year it was during the day, the year before that, it was a night race.. Make up their minds. The field is mainly cup drivers though.. Uugh. I don't mind a few, but it's half the field now! I'll tell you what, I will still root for a Busch driver to win a race over a cup driver. Car I'm rooting for come Saturday: My fav driver in the Busch series, since Kasey Khane is in cup now, Bobby Hamilton Jr. Either him or Jason Keller. Do you know how many times Keller has been so close to winning here and came up short? You'd be surprised. Last year, Scott Riggs won, in one of the best and most surprising finishes I have ever seen. That was awesome. Bliss would have won, but it was the 10 car in the end. I was so estatic, I couldn't sleep that night. ;)

    There's a bunch of drivers making an appearance at Speedpark Friday, so I'm probably going to go. Robby Gordon (whoopee.), Greg Biffle (Alright!) and a driver Mak is fond of, Rusty Wallace. Yes, Rusty's comin' back home this year. He hasn't ever really been to a race here in Gateway, although he has tested here before. His driver, Billy Parker, is going to be racing I believe. That's the reason why he's here.

    Well, I guess they could run a drug test on Stewart, it wouldn't really hurt, and if he refuses, well, he should have nothing to hide now, right? But hey, they didn't suspend Wimmer, so he shouldn't be upset.

    Also, back to the race Sunday, my dad said that people at work stated that a 2 cautions flew, both for debris. They never showed the debris. Although I didn't see this, I'll look at the tape tonight, but they said that the 8 car was about to get lapped by the leaders both times. Well, no comment needed for this statement. It was just the simple "don't get the 8 driver and fans mad" caution.

    Also, Jeff said that only one thing hit his car after he won the race. I guess the fans in California really do like their driver. ;)

    Something that I've meant to mention since the start of this season:

    Anybody notice that Greg Biffle no longer has gray hair? I guess he didn't want to lose his tag as one of the 'young guns' due to his premature grayness.

    Wimmer didn't show up at Daytona drunk, though.

    Yeah, go ahead and give Stewart a drug test. I'd think he'd pass, though. This is all him, I'm willing to bet.

    I saw a Beanie Baby at Wal-Mart tonight with Earhardt's signature, and the 'Daytona 500 Champion' logo. [face_plain]

    No sign of the Series 2 figures yet. When were they supposed to come out?

    I did think it was kind of funny that everytime the caution came out, Larry Mac said "you know who this benefits, is Dale Earnhardt Jr in that 8 car, he was a few seconds from going a lap down."

    I'm not trying to stir anything up, i'm just stating the facts. ;)

    June or July I believe. So that means they'll be up here in September or October. :(

    Who's going to watch that nascar Drivers: 360 show on May 15th? It looks pretty interesting, and it's always fun to see what these guys go through away from the track.

    I would think Jr. is decent if he wasn't favored so much. Don't know if it's his fault or not, but still.

    What's this about a show?

    In the two commercials I've seen, Rusty looks afraid of his wife and Harvick looks whipped. ;)

    I have heard nothing about a new Nascar show. What's it supposed to be about, what the drivers do away from the track?

    Well well well. I guess Ward Burton must feel jealous because he didn't get one when he won his Daytona 500.

    Also, speaking of Ward Burton, what's up with not throwing the caution when Ward spun on the restart into the grass? All this stuff about the "act of spinning results in an immediate caution" crap, and what do they do? Nothing. As usual, if it's not a driver that is popular among the common Jr and Jeffy fans, nothing is done. So what? Ward isn't in the top positions in points, he doesn't matter, and he didn't take out the 8 car. Nascar, once again, not consistent.

    Well, I can't say anything about the other incidents, but Ward's spin didn't deserve a caution. Had it been at a point in the race where the car were spead out on the track, they probably would have thrown it, but Ward had almost a minute to save himself.

    Ward won a Daytona 500? 8-}

    Just kidding. Yeah, I think his victory was overshadowed by Sterling Marlin trying to fix his car under the red flag. A classic moment. [face_laugh]

    It's called nascar Drivers: 360. It follows them away from the track. It premieres on May 15th on FX. I don't think they mentioned what time though.

    Here's some information about the show from a few months ago:

    FX Reality Show to air in May UPDATE: Daily Variety says 10 Nextel Cup drivers have been lined up for a "docu-style" series scheduled to debut on the FX cable channel in May, today's Sports Business Daily reports. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Jeremy Mayfield, Jamie McMurray, Casey Mears, Tony Raines, Brian Vickers, Kenny Wallace and Rusty Wallace are scheduled to take part, the story says. Daily Variety's Denise Martin writes that FX has approved ordering eight hours of the series, which is tentatively titled "NASCAR: Drivers Unscripted." Each episode is expected to focus on three drivers prior to a race, and production is scheduled to begin with the Daytona 500.(NASCAR Scene Daily Newsletter)(2-5-2004)

    I thought I had it bad waiting a few hours after the race for my brother to send the results via e-mail.

    Well, Nascar won't do anything about it. They probably won't even ban the coolers, like the rumors stated. I'm not sure they want to go to Dega and break up the drunken 8 fans when they are causing a riot in the stands. I know I wouldn't.

    Maybe they should stop fixing races.. Sorry, geez, such a radical idea. ;)

    I don't think races are fixed. That's impossible. It is possible to give one driver a slight advantage over the other, but I'm not saying that's happened either.

    Earnhardt 1997 Daytona crash car

    I know this was a big moment in Earnhardt lore, but do we really need a die-cast of it? I admit I gained some respect for Earnhardt after he got back in the car, but geez, do we really need a die-cast of everything that is Earnhardt? Now are they going to release a die-cast of the Daytona car where he hit a seagull to lose the race?
