That’s actually a legacy character death I could see both make sense and hit the right emotional markers. If done right. I say this as someone who adores R2.

 

I think it's quite possible we'll see both Tatooine and Jakku in the movie. Jakku for the purpose of the ST and Tatooine to close the saga.

 

I heard a rumor that Luke comes back to life, eats a dog turd and then dies again. Is there any validity to this?

 

TFA wrapped filming in NOV, couple that with Disney wanting huge marketing (early teaser / force for change) for the saga returning AND all the leaks. We were spoilt.

TLJ wrapped JUL, we got the title in JAN, we got the celebration trailer and basically no deep spoilers during production.

IX started filming AUG/2018, likely wrapping in JAN again and likely no spoilers....again.

We were extremely lucky with TFA.

 

The first legit plot spoilers I remember for the last Jedi was the leaked Topps cards set. It had the whole timeline for the movie if you looked at them in order. When I paired the trailers with the cards and the throne room rumors of Ren saving Rey I had a pretty good idea Ren killed Snoke and became Supreme Leader cause one of the last cards was him leading the FO attack on Crait.

 

We've never had the level of leaks we had for TFA ever again. Not even for RO. Security has clearly been tightened. That's why whenever a user on reddit comes out with plot spoilers (that are always way too detailed), I know there's about a 99.99% chance its garbage.

It is a shame in a way, because it just makes the wait all the more longer, but I also welcome it. I like the fact that, with the exception of a few things, I went into TLJ pretty much with my eyes closed. I knew too much about TFA beforehand. For me, it did put a dampener slightly on my first viewing.

The other scene is a briefing to the clan. Don addresses the clan alongside an older looking alien character. Naomi first calls for attention to the group, the name of it I just totally forget. It’s a Star Wars made up name. It’s basically a call to arms where Dom says they will take the hidden fleet away from the unknown regions and into the fray. Poe takes over and delivers a speech. It is filled with inspiring notions of a last chance for freedom in the galaxy. We were told to look worried, unsure and uneasy. He says that General Leah Organa the Queen of Alderaan will be spearheading the last act of Defense. It is the last chance for everyone and their homeworlds. We were told to seem a bit less reluctant. Finn raises a green crystal and says, “the force is with us”. We were then told to look confident and prepared for war.

So I’m assuming this group of rebels joins Leah and the remaining remaining resistance and side characters that are still around to face the first order head on during where they later filmed in Africa.

I could actually see if they were an extra that they could gather all that stuff from dialogue and what they see being filmed in front of them. It's not impossible.

Yes, and the name of every new place/character is conveniently forgotten.

 

If memory serves, during the run up to TLJ, someone stated that Leia would be in a Coma and that a Hut on Achto would explode.

Not saying what we're seeing is definitely true, it might just be assumptions based on known facts. That said, there's nothing inherently wrong with it either...so it might be a leak...or it might just be a safe guess.
