Ahsoka The Nightsisters

Why would people living in another galaxy name drop two people who have been dead for 30 years in another galaxy.

Talzin wouldn’t make sense as no one in this series likely knew her unless the three mothers here did.

Asajj does make sense but only after Ahsoka shows up because they do have a connection from The Clone Wars.

Unless Maul did an off screen exposition dump on Ahsoka on the way to Coruscant before things went down, Ahsoka probably knows nothing of Talzin.

 

Ahsoka could make drop her if Sabine or someone says something about nightsisters. She could be like I knew a nightsister once. Asajj Ventress or just say she knew a nightsister once. Those who would know would know those who didn’t may look it up

 

I got to admit this is hokey and quite frankly can't understand what powers they have that could be a game changer. More of the eternal life bring the dead back and I'm going to reconquer the galaxy stuff, with a hidden power that is being sought? What hidden power? Does it give the person the power to fly and shoot laser beams to destroy planets? Or the same old same old, I will manipulate your mind to do my bidding power. I'm really turned off by this big time.

 

Just, like, wait a couple episodes and you might have answers to your questions. You know, because, like, the show’s not over yet.

 

I doubt we’ll have answers to all of our questions or even most. Since I am positive there will be a season 2

Nightsisters are the most powerful force Users outside Mortis gods...

 

I loved seeing the Nightsisters in Peridea. It made perfect sense with the story they had been telling. And it's such an intriguing expansion of the lore surrounding Dathomir. I also felt like their world and fortress were great parallels to Mordor from Lord of the Rings, adding more to the parallels Filoni is fond of making to those stories.

One thing I'm very curious about is what the Nightsisters might be fleeing. Considering that they're the remnants of an ancient civilization, and we haven't seen too many other beings beyond the Mothers, I wonder if they might actually be fleeing a group of Nightbrothers. Perhaps they have found whatever power is calling out to Baylan Skoll, allowing them to turn the tables on their civilization. The main reason I'd love to see this would be because we could get a Nightbrother villain who would form an interesting parallel to Lucas's original ideas for his sequel trilogy, in which Maul would've become the main villain.

Perhaps it could even be something the Great Mothers created. Could it be that they resurrected some ancient Witch King who then turned against them?

Abeloth, the great mother of Mortis

 

I'd be interested to know what Dave Filoni felt/feels about the Mortis retcons that FotJ made. To me it doesn't seem in the spirit of the TCW arc. Nor do I think Canon-Abeloth would work without major changes to the character, whereas Filoni has previously said he'd like to avoid using EU material if the adaptation would stray too far.

But who knows. Maybe we'll end up with "Lothal", "Loth-wolves", etc. being derived from the name Abeloth.

 

I dont think Filoni like EU version of it. But there probably was a mother of Mortis. Abeloth just a name for her like Daughter is Morai.

 

As Sabine said in Rebels regarding the trio, "They're archetypes." I think a different incarnation of the Son is more likely than adding a fourth figure; I doubt that the Ones of Mortis exist like a typical biological family.

 

Who knows they so ancient, the mother is forgotten. They could be first beings of existence.

 

I just don't see the point. You have the Light, Dark, and the Balance. What fourth aspect is there to add?

Given the female-dominant aspect of Dathomiri society, it would make sense for their interpretation of the Ones to be three Mothers (The Even Greater Mothers ). Then you could have an Abeloth type without complicating an already unclear concept.

I remember some speculation that Baylan Skoll might fill the role of Joruus C'baoth as the dark Jedi in this somewhat loose interpretation of Heir To The Empire. Now, I'm guessing the Great Mothers will fulfill this role: sensing the future and giving aid and advice to Thrawn during military engagements.

 

Abeloth and the entire plot of the Fate Of The Jedi novels is one of the best Star Wars stories I have ever read/seen.

Why do people assume that the Nightsisters made the trip from Peridea to the GFFA on a regular basis? It doesn't seem that it would be something they could do all the time or even at will. It resulted in some Nightsisters migrating to the GFFA, but we don't know at what numbers and what capacity, or if it was a common occurence.

 

The scariest bit was when the coolest-looking Nightsister said "It reeks of Jedi." But then Sabine's almost silly reaction took some of the tension out of that scene. This episode was so wonderful on so many levels, and I gave it a 10. But it would have been a 15 if Sabine was played with more nuance and less bluster.

 

Zeffo markings on an ancient Dathomiri Nightsister castle and temple. Makes sense, Zeffo and nightsister has connections. Both once ruled over Dathomir. Maybe both been on Peridea at same time?

 

I'll explode if we see the Zeffo in this show.

 

Probably not, but maybe could in First Jedi movie or others in same era.
