Anyone who claims this will teach you guitar = lame. Anyone who thinks you should play real guitar instead of this = lame. Completely different.

Also, $100 game > $1000 guitar setup.

 

I didn't say any of that. I said I thought it was funny that something I did as a kid as a hobby was turned into a video game, and that it was more fun doing it for real, which it is. I understand fully that this is a game, and I'm not knocking anyone for enjoying it. Jeez, lighten up a little, will ya?

 

Uh, did I say you did? It's simply a common reaction to this game (OMG YOU LAMER GO PLAY A REAL GUITAR!!!)

And I've played a real guitar, I didn't like it at all. Your statement = generalising

 

I always wanted to learn to play the guitar, and then I realized I didn't have the time or money, so I learned the musical triangle instead. I'm a level 5 Pro - going for my Level 6 black belt. Watch out!

 

I'm graded level 10 on the kazoo.

 

I stood in the same spot and yelled for 2 weeks straight. My power level is maximum.

There's a lot more to it than that basic setup. You have to take into account other factors to the guitar rig. Money that you get back from shows if you are in a band, the fact that most girls dig musicians, the fact that you are actually doing something for real rather than doing the Fisher-Price version of it, etc.

Also you can get a decent acoustic guitar for a couple hundred dollars.

 

What kind of game is that? I've never heard about it before. Can it be played on PC, not only X-box?

I used to be able to play Hangar 18 on bass. Gods, what a hard song.

You know a game is good when people in the official thread stop talking about it so they can play it.

I've never been good at Guitar Hero, and I still love the game. I beat it on medium today, and after playing Hanger 18, I'm not sure I would ever even want to try that on hard, let alone expert.

EB were supposed to call me today if the got it in, I wanna pick it up tomorrow since I'm finished exams now.

New one looks insane, I think hard is as far as I'll go.

 

I've wanted the first one for a while, but its been sold out everywhere.

I saw the second today, but I'm weighing up whether or not to pay A$150 for it...

 

Big W is going to have it for $128 tomorrow with guitar (it's in the latest catalogue.) Also, I saw a couple of the GH1 boxes at Target so you might want to try there.

 

Finally got II and started playing.

Completely owned the first few tiers on Medium so I went to Hard. Owned the first three songs there...then along came Woman. Freaking hell, Hard is a step up from medium. Never in danger of failing but I sure wasn't getting anywhere near the 5 star mark.

 

At least Hangar 18 is consistently hard across all formats.

I broke down and picked it up from work (K-Mart). Begin Playing soon

 

Funny thing is, it took me about 5 tries to beat Hangar 18, but nailed Freebird on the first try. Maybe it's just the whole "but it's Freebird!!!11" mentality, but Hangar 18 was hard.

Not as hard as certain B-sides though. (I'm looking at you Six and Jordan)

 

I'm aceing Easy, but only slowly getting the Hang of medium.

It's really addictive

 

You playing 1 or 2?

Just finished hard, 4-starred Free Bird and was only a little off the 5-star. The songs before it were more difficult, I think.

Expert's just a little more crazy though.

I would have liked to get the Disc for 1 when I got 2, but it doesn't seem to be out by itself yet.

 

Be warned, going up to Hard takes it to another level.

5-starred all of Medium now, and finished 20 of 40 on Expert. But I just had my first failure...think it'll take a little more work from here on.
