Quick question about Emperor Han: was that a nod to the OTHER Han? I know the name has other origins, but I couldn't get him out of my mind.

    Emperor Han sure was tricky.

Wow! That is just -- spectacular. Please tell your wife I'm grinning from ear to ear, and give her a great big hug for me. And thank you -- I'm so pleased you enjoyed it too.

Well, it wasn't a conscious choice, I have to say. *g* But it is a very stylish name, eh? I love Emperor Han. He's a cool dude. *g*

Yes, I'd have to agree with Hedec Ga on WILD SPACE. I'll admit, the Clone Wars era was beginning to grow a bit mundane for me because of all the coverage it's been getting in recent months (the movie, tv show, all the novels, etc), and so I actually didn't remember when WILD SPACE actually came out. Luckily, I have a good friend who works at a local bookstore and lets me know when new releases have come in (although I usually have to tell him first :p), and so when he called and told me that WILD SPACE had just come in, I was a bit wary, but went down and picked it up nonetheless.

I started reading it (the first few pages) the moment I got back in the car, and I must say that the post-Geonosis wrap up in the first few chapters immediately captivated my interest. Suffice to say, I was hooked at that point on by both the style of your writing and the general tone and feeling of the novel; you got into a fresh perspective on Anakin and Padme's secret relationship, and did really well with the Obi-Wan and Bail Organa POV's. I finished the novel fairly early on, and, when I was done, loaned it to a friend. He felt the same way, loved the first few paragraphs and was intrigued (as was I) with the Zigoola holocron and the general creepiness of Obi-Wan and Organa's quest across the ancient Sith world.

I do indeed look forward to your next installment of the Clone Wars series, and feel that you and Karen Traviss compliment each other's style's exceptionally well. I hope that your stay here in the EU is a long and enjoyable one!

Thank you so very much! I do apologise for taking so long to respond, but I got swallowed alive by another project. It's just spat me out again, so I'm slowly playing catch up now. I'm so pleased you enjoyed WS, and that your friend did too. Please pass my thanks to him, and to your bookseller friend too. As a former bookseller myself, I really appreciate the hard work that goes into selling the pesky things!

And yes, I think KT and I tag teamed really well. She's been a joy to work with.

So I missed the end of the auction to have your name in your next novel, what did it end up with? I thought it was a really great thing to do. Curse my bank account, it wasn't big enough. :)

Winning bid was $1725.00. I'm still in shock. I love fans. Fandom is a special place.

Wow, that's really amazing. It's great to get that much money to charity. I hope it was a name that will be easy to Star Warsify.

Creating names is one thing I really admire by authors in Star Wars btw. I've been doodling in fanfic, and I hate coming up with names, and I don't think I do it very well either.

It's really amazing to see the Star Wars community come together in a time like this. [:D]

It's been said before but... I loved Wild Space! Obi-Wan hasn't had nearly as much time onscreen as some of the other characters, and it was wonderful to read about him developing during this period.

    Thank you!!!!

As it happens, I'm just about to dive back into the major rewrite of Clone Wars #4 (title coming soon, I hope *g*) ... and there's lots more Obi-Wan to come. I'm having way too much for this to be legal.

I'm really looking forward to that. In fact that's the only part of Clone Wars that I feel really interested in. I haven't seen a single episode of the TV show, and I don't read comics either. That's also why I was so late in reading Wild Space, since I didn't think it would be interesting either. Boy, was I wrong with that.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Wild Space, but I couldn't stop. And I am a big Obi lover as well as a Bail lover. The scenes set just after AOTC were rather good.

I am not sure about your intepretation of Padme. Was she supposed to seem a little selfish? That's how she came across for me.

First of all, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! I love those 2 characters as well. Love all of 'em , really.. *g*

With Padme, well, I suppose I do think she's a little selfish. I mean, I love her. I think she's pretty awesome, very brave and with her heart in the right place. But she put her personal happiness above the rules and a lot of bad things happened as a result. Same with Anakin. It was their lies and deceit that gave Sidious his way in. THen again, I understand how much they needed each other. It's all very messy. Just the kind of story I love!

Thank you! You know, what I like best about the EU is that it has so many ways of telling the story. I'm not a comics person either, and I will always prefer the live action films with actors to any cartoon, no matter how well it's done -- but other people adore comics and cartoons and so they get their fun and I still get mine and it's all good. *g*

Just a quick drive by update -- I just finished the major rewrite on the next CW book. I am so brain fried right now. I think I'm pretty happy. Not the final draft yet, it'll have one more pass and some final tweaky bits on the way to print. But the bones are there, and most of the meat, and there are some scenes I really love. This one has a major focus on Obi-Wan and Anakin -- as will the sequel. Yup, this one's a two parter. And I'm having way too much fun with it for this to be legal! *g*

Ooh, sounds exciting! Any idea when you'll have a title? :)

And how many books are there going to be in this series, between you and Traviss?

I absolutely loved Wild Space and I can't find words to express how much I'm looking forward to this one. :)

I'm a huge fan of the prequels and as far as I'm concerned there are far too few books for this era coming out in the future :(, which makes me doubly eager for this one.

5 books in this Clone Wars set. Karen's done her two, and I have one more to write after this. As for the titles, I'm waiting for word. Soon, I hope!

Thank you!! I'm so pleased I didn't disappoint with WS -- and my fingers and toes are crossed that the good luck continues. *g*

I love the prequels too, for so many reasons. Cant' tell you how much it thrills me to be playing in this end of the pool.

I can't wait to read these next books. I'm in a bit of a down-period in my SW-reading at the moment, but this is something I'm really looking forward to.

Thank you, Obi Anne! My apologies for such a slow reply, but work and bronchitis have kept me flattened.

I'll let you all know that I finished the final polish pass of the next novel, which now has its official title: Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth. I'm happy. As I've said before, there's as whole lot of Obi-Wan and Anakin in this, in fact that's the main focus, but there's also Bail, and some Padme, and Ahsoka, and a couple of new characters I'm very fond of. My inventions, these ones. I promise they don't take over from the main characters -- my hope is that you'll find they help illuminate our favourites. This is the first part of a 2 part story, and I'll be tackling part 2 very soon. Just a got a bit of mainstream work to tackle first. Yikes, it never ends!

    Hope you're all well.
