The Official Legacy of the Force: Inferno Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

I would totally love a Kyle/Ben combo. But really, I think that this would be a great op for some of the lesser names that need to become big characters step up and get some big characterization points.

 

Well, Luke would be my first choice for Bens master, my second would be Jaina, third would be Kyp, forth Saba, fifth Leia, sixth would be an obscure character of some sort.

 

You've got to feel pretty sad for the Solos because jacen is probably going to die. He's going to take Luke with him. So that means they would have lost Chewie, Anakin, Mara, Luke, Jacen. All they'd be left with his Jaina and the solo namesake would die when she hooks up with FEL I.

 

Unless Han let's the Confederation clone him so they can have an army of Haans

Realistically, though, I'm hoping that Ben will wind up flitting in and out of (with an emphasis on the in) Jaina's thread of the story. Alema gets Sith ship. Ben chases Sith ship. Jaina chases Alema. Ben and Jaina track down Alema Rar, imparting to Ben life skills and lessons that will be critical to punching Jacen in the face later on in the series.

 

Oh Come on! Lets not start this again.

 

I'd actually love to see Ben become Jaina's apprentice. I think it would make her grow up and give her a sense of responsibility. Plus it could help mend the rift between her and Ben.

Ben don't like very much his cousin Jaina. Maybe with Sacrifice's events he'll change is mind.
I think Jaina isn't strong, serious and interesting to be a great master for Ben Skywalker.
Ben have somes very goods skills and a different interpretation of the force. (thank Jacen)
I think Jaina is weak to be his master. She must take another apprentice.

Ben needs a person like Saba or Leia ^__^

But, finally... with all the events... Jacen's betrayal, Mara's death, war... Ben need really for a master ?
At the end, Ben could refuse to use the force after all... like when he was a little boy.

 

im pretty sure i remember the end of sacrfice where ben was "making note" of every aspect of the murder scene. he was using the force damper and jacen walked right to his location. if ben isnt the one to figure it out, that would definitely suprise me.

as for jacen's need to die: i, apparently, am the one person who LIKES what theyve ndone with jacen since the beginning of njo. i personally dont want him to die in this series. im sick of redemption, and im sick of the good guys having the tought fight, but pulling it out in the end. thats one of the reasons i liked the njo series: it was realistic where good vs evil are concerned.

that said, my money's on saba getting it this book, and luke training ben.

if jacen does die (though i dont want it this series, i dont think my personal opinions will stop the authors from doing this anyway) i have a sneaking suspicion it will be via explosive decompression, like the vision he had earlier in the series.

everyones still speculating, but neglects to recall that of all the hardcore jedi/half-jedi/sith in the past 50 years of the storyline, no one besides the long dead emperor has had a more accurate vision of the future than jacen. i think the space death = a safe bet.

 

Jaina's the perfect choice for Ben. She would remind him of his mother and he would remind her of Anakin. Besides they need to become better friends with each other. I'm not pleased at all with this Ben/Jaina hate thing.

 

Jacens visions may be astute but there far from perfect. Nobody in the history of Star Wars has had a vision that has come out the way they expected it to (except with Anakin Sr.).

 

You mean where the heroes had a tough fight against the Vong and then pulled out a victory in the end? Star Wars is built upon good facing overwhelming evil and in the end heroes(thought not always the ones to first face the evil) standing triumphant.

Unfortunately I think you're probably right about Saba.

I could see that, but he also killed Nelani so he would be in a future where he wouldn't kill Luke and yet he now will have to kill Luke if he lives, so if there was a way to make it so Jacen in the end realizes that by choosing the Dark Side he doomed himself it could work I suppose.

Palpatine's vision of the future wasn't too accurate given that he's dead and failed to possess Anakin Solo.

 

I don't see how the heroes can stand triumphant if Jacen kills Luke, or any more members of his family for that matter.

Look, the only reason why most people think Jacen is going to kill more of his family down the line is because of the visions he's been having but I'm not so sure how reliable they are.

 

Unreliable visions or not. At let's hope they stay unreliable, because characters that can see the future perfectly have no jeopardy, does it concern anyone else the the crux of our suspense is about who is going to die in Book n? I realize its wishful thinking, but I feel as though there should be something more to discover in Star Wars than who is going to die.

 

I'm not the one who keeps bringing it up.

 

Hey, I just thought of something. What if in the final book, Krayt is the one that kills Caedus.
