I wouldnt be surprised if that particular issue of the Visionaries comic (with Durge and Jaing) became Canon and i truly believe neither should any of you. Its probably the most direct and interesting link in Durge's past and its refererenced to in Mandalorian 101.

Just one thing here. Jango's sister appears to be in her early teens to me, while Jango looks more like he's about ten.[face_thinking]

I took another look, and you're probably right. She does look like she's in her early teens, thanks for the correction :).

Since I can't go back and edit the post:

Jango's sister was probably in her early teens when she was killed and not "even younger then Jango," as previously stated.

Tales from Jabba's Palace - A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett

Boba Fett awakens in the Sarlacc; unaware of where he is. Over the years, however, he has learned to recognize certain things about his surroundings.

He knows that he's on the surface of a planet because artificial gravity shimmers at the edges of perception, because on a ship the engines (no matter how well damped) vibrate, and because gravity provided by angular momentum causes a Coriolis effect that a human who has trained himself to do so, can recognize.

A voice out of the darkness says to him: You are Boba Fett.

Jerking his head up, Boba sees only darkness, and reaches for his rifle. This is when he discovers that his arms and legs are fully restrained and that he is suspended above the ground.

Hearing a couple of distant ?crack? noises, he discovers that his head is not similarly restrained, and activates his helmet?s macrobinoculars by flicking a switch with his tongue. With the macrobinoculars translating up out of the infrared and down from the ultraviolet, Fett sees that he is hanging against the wall of a sponge-like organic looking tunnel that curves sharply out of sight a few meters to his right and left.

Boba then hears screams in the distance, and again hears the whistling ?crack? noise. Then, once again he hears a voice: You are Boba Fett?

It all comes back to Boba then ? Tatooine, the sail barge, Solo and Skywalker ? and with a rush of horror he realizes that he?s in the belly of the Sarlacc, being digested.

We then flashback to Fett leaving Bespin, with Solo in tow. Despite the fact that Fett is not a man of much feeling he finds himself filled by a certain fondness for Han Solo. While he did not approve of the man, it was rare to receive two bounties for the same acquisition. Vader had paid Fett well, and Jabba would pay nearly as well again.

The Hutt had promised a bounty of 100,000 credits ? a respectable amount, but not the highest bounty Fett had ever earned. He had once received a bounty of 150,000 credits for the pirate Feldrall Okor, and a bounty of 500,000 credits for the delivery of Nivek ?Yppiks, a Ffib heretic who fled the religious oligarchy of his homeworld of Lorahns.

While Fett doesn?t imagine that he?ll ever come to like religious autarchies (they remind him of his youth) he had come to appreciate them. They paid very well and their ?criminals? were intellectuals who talked too much and rarely shot back.

Although Jabba doesn?t know it yet, his fee for the Solo acquisition was about to be increased. While Boba doesn?t imagine he?ll be able to push the Hutt into the 500,000 credit range (Jabba is a business creature, not a religious fanatic), he knew that Jabba that was an art collector.

Han Solo encased in carbonite had to be worth more then Han Solo alive or dead, and by the time Fett got done, counting both his fee from the Empire and his fee from the Hutt, he fully intended to better the half million he had made on ?Yppiks.

While Slave-1 makes the last jump to Tatooine, Fett sleeps in the pilot?s chair. As a rule, hyperspace transit was the only place that Boba was able to sleep soundly. He never dreamed (at least, nothing that he remembered) and his sleep was peaceful and uninterrupted ? the sleep of a just man.

He awoke not long before breaking out of hyperspace. No device was needed to wake him, he decided to wake up at the correct time and he did. He wakes alert, checks the control board, and sees that all seems well. Minutes later, as the hyperspace tunnel fragments around Boba, a klaxon shrieks through the ship.

Fett takes the bad news calmly: a beacon had activated itself down in the hold, announcing his arrival insystem to anyone listening on the correct frequency. Boba?s deduction is both instant and correct ? another hunter had planted the beacon during his stay on Cloud City. Slapping the autopilot control, Fett sprints below deck.

Damning himself a fool for not checking his ship when he had the chance, Fett

Doesn't Boba also toss a few grenades into the Sarlacc as a sort of annual pilgrimage?

thatd be a nice retcon. the last great mandalorian army beaten, the weary warriors settle for life as farmers and labormen. Unknown to the rest of galaxy the nature of war has changed and so must the mandalorians.

OK, enough lurking in that topic, time to post...
First, is there any detailed description of the battles in the Mandalorian wars? I've found a galaxy map (fan made) which states the mandalorians made it all the way to the deep Core, at the gates of Coruscant.
Also, whn did they fought the echani? In KOTOR II the Handmaiden was telling about her father, a great echani general, but from that story I get the impression that he leads a resistance after the Mando crusade whiped out his homeworld? Canderous seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the echani, as well as the Handmaiden about the mandos.

And second question- what exactly happened at Malachor V? I've read that the planet was a holly place for the mandalorians and they weren't allowed to go to the suface, which was used by a republic strike team to plant a gravity generator on the planet.During the battle REvan turned it on and the planet imploded, taking both fleets with it... At least any truth in that?

EDIT: I'll try to find the map, it was in the Literature forum. :/EDIT

I haven't read anything that says that specifically, but judging by this:

Sitting in the Slave-II and smiling beneath his helmet, Fett responds: "You don't eat a barve like that all at once."

Susejo says that he supposes he will see Fett again then. Fett tells him he can count on it.

I'm sure he does something along those lines.

it seems Fett has still a telepathic link with the sarlacc or its inhabitants, how so?

I think the answer is that Susejo forged some sort of connection to Boba's mind while he was in the Sarlacc. Just because Boba escaped doesn't mean that the connection has been cut.

    Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

    Opening Scroll:

The Galactic Republic is in peril. In the aftermath of the Battle of Naboo, disorder and corruption run rampant throughout the galaxy.

Seizing upon this chaos is a mysterious and deadly cult known as the BANDO GORA, whose vicious attacks have nearly crippled the galaxy's most powerful industries.

Darth Sidious, recognizing this development as a threat to his own sinister plan, has summoned his new apprentice to discuss the matter?

    Intro:

On board his ship, Dooku speaks with the holographic form of Darth Sidious.

    Dooku - Master?

Sidious - Lord Tyranus, an urgent matter has arisen that must interrupt your training. The Bando Gora has become a dangerous parasite; it must be eradicated. I believe you once had the opportunity to eliminate its leader, why did you not take it?

    Dooku - As an experiment.

Sidious - The experiment has failed. This deranged former Jedi has no place in my vision for the future. I expect you to correct this error.

Dooku - As you wish. And what of your plan for the clone army?

Sidious - Our cloners require a host. You must find an ideal specimen, perhaps among the galaxy's most dangerous mercenaries.

Dooku - I shall accomplish both of these tasks with a single stroke, Master.

Sidious - Yes? Yes. I look forward to completing your training, my friend.

Notes from the Strategy Guide on Chapter One:

Jango Fett - As a boy, Jango was orphaned when his parents were caught in a crossfire between the Mandalorian Warriors and their rivals, the Death Watch, on the planet Concord Dawn. A sympathetic Mandalorian commander named Jaster Mereel took pity on Jango and made him a cadet. Soon he was traveling with the nomadic army-for-hire as they toured the galaxy, looking for conflict, always in the service of the highest bidder. Over time, Jango rose through the ranks. When Jaster Mereel was killed in battle, Jango was named commander, the youngest in the long history of the notorious Mercenary army.

(Rev's comments - The "always working for the highest bidder" part of the above contradicts the Mandalorian Insider article, which states that Jaster was an honorable man? Unless you choose to believe that the highest bidder always just happened to have the noblest of intentions :p. Anyway, I'd go with the article over a strategy guide. What's really interesting to note is that when the above refers to Jango being named "commander" we now know that by "commander" they mean "Mandalore" and that Jango was the youngest Mandalore since at least Canderous and up, and possibly ever. That's fairly nifty.)

Since ancient times, Mandalorians have been brutally effective fighters, and especially so under Jango Fett's leadership. However, while fighting to suppress a popular revolt in the Galidraan system, the Mandalorians ran afoul of the Jedi Knights, who wiped out most of the mercenary army and delivered the survivors to the governor of Galidraan. Jango became a slave, but he used the next several years to regain his strength and plot his eventual escape. He exacted revenge on his captors, reclaimed his Mandalorian armor, and set off on his own as a bounty hunter.

Armed with dual blasters, a missile-equipped jet pack, and a host of other deadly tools of his trade, Jango Fett is now among the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.

Montross - Montross, like Jango Fett, was once a Mandalorian warrior, feared by his enemies, as well as by the men with whom he served. He was exceptionally brutal, even for a Mandalorian, and his reckless bravado often placed his comrades in danger. He was frequently at odds with his commander, Jaster Mereel, over combat tactics and his own tendencies to cause unacceptable amounts of collateral damage. He was also enraged by the attention his commander bestowed upon the daring young recruit, Jango Fett. In a pitched battle against a rival mercenary army, Montross led a foolhardy charge, which led to Jaster Mereel's death. Banished from the Mandalorians for this costly mist

    Talkin about Bounty Hunter:

I need more info on the Kuat Drive Yards AIAT/i, and AFAIK is in the Bounty Hunter: Strategy Guide a better description of it (p. 23). And I wanna know if there is a picture of a AIAT/i...

So if anyone has this strategy guide, I'd appreciate a transcription of it.

And the AIAT/i isn't a Firespray, is it?

I especially need to know how many persons get in that troop transport.

I don't think any source other than Abel's Mando article talks of the AIAT/i. And its not a Firespray. Slave I is a Firespray Persuit Special, while most other Firesprays are of the Firespray-31 design.

Of course, the YJK Shards of Alderaan cover shows a Firespray when it means Slave IV... [face_thinking]

    Yes. From the Mando article:
Assuming Fett dead, she took his KDY AIAT/i starship and permanently adopted his identity.

I was going to wait until the ship actually appeared in the game to transcribe this, but no biggie, here ya go :):

    Jaster's Legacy

    Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards

Make: AIAT/i (Amphibious Interstellar Assault Transport/infantry) starship

    Dimensions: Length 31.5 m; height 12.5 m; wingspan 30 m

    Hyperspace Capability: Yes

Cargo Capacity: 1 assault repulsorlift craft; 4 military speeder bikes; approx. 350 cubic meters in main hold (if troops absent)

Crew: 1 pilot; 1 copilot; 1 rear gunner; 2 turret gunners

Passengers: Approx. 50 Mandalorian soldiers; 1 IM-6 battlefield medical droid; 2 astromech droids

Armament: 3 dual-barrel laser turrets (2 front; 1 back); 4 concussion missile launchers; 2 proton torpedo tubes; 8 light air-to-air rockets

A relic of a ship, the Jaster's Legacy was so named by Jango Fett after his mentor Jaster Mereel was killed. Before that it was simply known by its military markings, JAST07. Jaster?s Legacy is a heavily modified Kuat Drive Yards light infantry assault transport with two very powerful custom Vokoff-Strood sublight engines to propel the ship into battle. Under Jaster Mereel?s specific instructions, it was designed for the Mandalorians to be used as an all-purpose attack craft, heavily armored and capable of hyperspace travel, as well as high maneuverability in atmospheric flight. It was also designed to land on water, as amphibious assaults were one of the many tactics Mandalorians employed in battle. Jaster?s Legacy?s double-armored durasteel hull could absorb an incredible amount of damage, and it could outpace nearly any starship of its day.

Unlikely as (Republic Commando: Hard Contact spoiler) I think he's dead before Spar's Mandalorians enter the war.
