Look at the Chiefs still playing meaningful football like some sort of Make A Wish Foundation gesture. Good for them.
It's not like the game is fascinating. Would not surprise me if they wanted something else to talk about. They just played the "Threepeat" footage that they clearly had prepared expecting a Chiefs coronation so now they were basically like "we made it, we're playing it anyway"
I have to admit, this Super Bowl kind of proved something to myself as a Chiefs’ fan - I’m just not as obsessed or hurt by them losing it as I could be, and I know Mahomes having the other three rings played a part in it. If I had been tortured by near misses, like Buffalo has, or the Vikings? Yeah, I’d be really damn depressed. But I’m not. And I do still like Jalen and Saquon enough to feel the respect on their names should be pretty damn big from here on out. Jalen especially; dude’s poise and willingness to just win is genuinely second to none.
The three rings definitely help assuage a lot lol. And the fact that we could well be back here again in a year or two. I am definitely sad but I can't imagine what Buffalo or Minnesota fans have been through with losses like this with no rings to show.
Yeah, there's not much that you can do when it's just the defensive line alone is causing so much disruption. The QB has no time to find open receivers, receivers aren't likely to be open because they can drop back so many into coverage, and it's hard to establish the run. It's back to the oldest rule in football. If you totally control what happens in the trenches, the game is yours. The rest of players don't even matter at that point.
I’m happy for A.J. and @A Chorus of Disapproval. I’m happy the Chiefs didn’t win. Oh, and if I haven’t said it enough already **** you Jon Robinson!
So is Jalen Hurts a running QB or…. Because I was told that “his style of play” couldn’t win because it hadn’t won.
Jalen Hurts has always been a throwing QB and I said he was amazing in our last Super Bowl against him.
Thank the Maker. Not that it was a top-down conspiracy (Goodell couldn’t pull that off lmao), but exposed an absolutely mid team that feasted on clutch calls all season. Happy for Saquon too. That Hard Knocks Offseason will go into the Library of Congress (I can laugh at this extra b/c the Bengals act the same way, melty face).
