"He's 2-2 at Miami since 2002, before today. That's not choking."

He's 3-4 since 01. With todays lose: it makes him 3-5. Decent at best. But he has never played that well against, Miami (least of all when he's played them at Dolphin stadium). Plus there the only team that I can think of that always rattle his cage. Let alone the only team that has completely shut him down. His stats really aren't all that impressive against the Dolphins (in there house).

He's like 7-5 against Miami, and 70-20 against the rest of the NFL. Its weird. The Patriots just don't play them well.

most players in the major sports have a team they don't do well against for some reason (the diamondbacks have always been the needle to greg maddux's voodoo doll, for example).

Now that Chad Pennington coughed up the Jets' season it's time to see what Kellen Clemens can do. One good half against Green Bay does not reflect a very mediocre second half to the season.

Chad is so bad, he's making the Bills' horrendous run defense look good by having them stuff the box. He can't go further than ten yards at all.

Anyone else think that Denver made a fantastic blunder, by benching Plumber and activating Cutler, so late in the season?

I just think they're not as good as they usually are, both on defense and in the running game.

Plummer didn't do anything special, and he made a lot of mistakes as a veteran. Cutler isn't doing anything special, and is making rookie errors.

That, and San Diego is absolutely one of, if not the best team in the NFL.

LaDainian Tomlinson is a freaking machine. He just broke a very important record, and he has three more games to add to it.

The guy is insane. Whoever has this guy on their fantasy team is almost guaranteed to win.

Every year he gets better. Wow. Just. Wow!

It's refreshing to see a guy as intense as Shanahan so gracious in defeat.

Don't ever think you'll see Belichick hugging and holding LT after losing by 4 TDs. :p

I'll second that... Pretty much from start to finish: the guy has been a running machine (unstoppable). 103 yards 3 touchdowns against a pretty good defense...Awesome! To think he's only going to add to those #'s (insane)...dude is beast.

That surprises me, actually. Mike, you've surprised me. I agree, it was classy.

Yeah there's really no way to not like LT. I've liked the guy for a while now, and I'm happy if someone's going to obliterate the record that it can be a classy guy and a team player. And I'm glad he could do it against Denver instead of against us next week :p

As for the Chiefs... why can't our D and O coordinate, get together and decide they're going to both play well one week instead of alternating [face_plain] The O line was a big problem, with the backup Welbourn (who's really our 3rd string) in and letting all kind of penetration through. Explaining why Green was sacked 5 times.

And then of course, what scared me early on and ended up being a big problem was the fact that when you get pressure on Green and you cover the receivers... well, have I ever mentioned that a local columnist nicknamed him "Tr-INT" his first year in KC? I love the guy, but everyone has a weakness and his is definitely trying to force risky throws when under a lot of pressure. He's not been as bad in recent years, but the Ravens definitely knew that potential flaw was there and were able to exploit it.

EDIT: Interestingly enough, Green's overall passer rating for his games this season still puts him at 8th in the NFL, and 7th of QBs still starting.

what would happpen if LT tried to tackle LT?

i don't think i was "whining". more like pointing out the obvious, which is the line was abysmal for the first half of the season. somehow, a good combination has been found, and they've protected leinart while getting james some running room.

kurt warner was pounded right out of his starting job because of that line.

solo, I thought the game today was very bizarre.

From what I saw of KC, I guess it's kind of obvious, if you come up against a team with a tight run defense, you put the game on Trent's arm, and while I think highly of him, he won't beat the good teams without Johnson having a productive performance.

See, I thought Baltimore had a pretty good game. Especially on the defensive front, obviously, which isn't in question. But even offensively, they did all right. Jamal Lewis had a good day.

And actually, LJ didn't have a bad day. He had 120 yards. No TDs, it's true, but that's mostly because we kept turning it over before we got in the red zone. I don't think Trent's arm is the problem, necessarily. His INTs weren't technically bad throws. He still has power and accuracy. They were just risky, and you can't do that against such a good D. And, like I said, the problem was made worse by our O-line, which has been fluxuating all year and had a guy in today who hadn't played all year.

Anyway, we're out of the playoffs. So now we will see if we can have fun messing up other people :p

Regardless, the Jets line was just as bad as the Cards, and management made the decision to first build a solid line with Ferguson and Mangold and then see what direction to take with quarterback. The team's run-blocking and pass protection has greatly improved: Chad's decision-making and passes seemed to have regressed after a great first half to the season.

Besides, when you make a post about the Cardinals, you routinely mention the deficiencies of the line as their core problem.

Well, to be fair, LJ had one long run that padded his stats. Down to down, he was not the dominant factor he normally is.

i'm sorry, baron. there is no way on god's green earth that the jets' line was as bad as the cardinals' line. just ain't happening. arizona's line was awful, awful and awful some more. james couldn't get any running room, and the quarterback was routinely pounded. they had six different starting combinations, and their offensive coordinator got fired.

i kept mentioning it because it's the center of the talk here in arizona, because any cardinals fan knows that it's the main weakness of the team, and lo and behold, as the line's play has picked up, so has the team's.

Okay, I'll give you that, but we were so bad last year we couldn't handle the center-QB exchange once Mawae went down. :p
