It only takes 5 minutes to update the transcript each day he posts. Copy/paste is wonderful. :) Peter is our favorite hairy one, is he not?

Sorry if this is a redundant post... I'm committing an act of civil disobedience by not sifting through the last 4 months' worth of posts. Anyhoo, Lord Maully Maul 'touched' on this, but to take it a step further...

I don't know about the food conjecture, but the "Beard = Prolly a Good Guy" theory seems like a good rule of thumb. Perhaps GL is making a subtle visual allusion to Jesus of Nazareth and his disciples? [Granted, maybe Jesus was black and/or didn't *really* have a beard... but the image in most people's heads has been shaped by paintings like Da Vinci's "The Last Supper", portraying Jesus as a white hippie in robes.]

Furthermore, this allusion is reinforced by (mainly) Episodes I and IV's set designs in Tunisia... specifically Mos Espa and Mos Eisley. They're very similar to how you might see Israel, ca. 33 AD, depicted in a Christian Sunday school cartoon or in a movie like "Jesus of Nazareth".

In congruency with this quasi-theology-based motif, one could argue that the paradox of Mace's non-beardedness/good guyness would follow more of a Buddhist archetype. The Jedi council is an equal-opportunity employer, after all.

In summary, Jedi + robes + beards + desert cities = Jesus & friends. Chancellor Valorum = Ehud Barak. Count Dooku = Yasar Arafat. Jabba the Hutt = Bill Clinton. And Jawas = the ubiquitous freemasons.

Excellent. No it's not redundant at all. So far we have combed through every aspect of SW and mythological similarities, GL's early career etc. to find out why and if beards are indeed asociated with goodness. This is a very interesting analysis and I thank you for your excellent contribution.

I equate Mace with the Dalai Lama, very bald, very bold, very religious in his order, a representation of another type of jedi, where baldness equates to the beards of the biblical times.

FiendishJedi, welcome. What you have read is a summary of five or six months of work. Happy to hear you enjoyed it. Now there are some bearded friends in JC. They all helped compile this info: http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=1751746&start=2066242

You're welcome to join either discussion or social affairs. Or both.

Morning, queeqer. Have read the manuscript a few times. I think it's great. PM me when you have a chance. I am back to work now, so let all the hairy times begin again. Am hoping our favorite rug, Chewbacca, comes back from his weekend travels today and posts his comments.

Looks like you love your job.

Actually, we haven't really side tracked. We're just waiting for new beard info. Until then we keep this place alive. The beard must grow and so must our theory.
