Well unfortunately this isn't about baldness, but it just may throw a hydrospanner into that little beard theory of yours, mwahahahaha! Check out one of the recent additions to the senetorial feature from SW.com:

    http://www.starwars.com/characters/toonbuck/

And I quote: "Toonbuck Toora is this huge, QUITE HAIRY senator.... "

I continue with her character bio: "Toonbuck Toora was a senator in the waning days of the Republic. She held the office during Chancellor Valorum's tenure, and as well as serving ten years in to Palpatine's rule. Toora's interests fell more onto the business end of the political spectrum, and she sided with the engines of commerce during partisan issues that split the senate.

Toora entered the senate as an idealistic crusader, only to become corrupted by the riches offered her in the Galactic Core. Crafty and non-confrontational, Toora was content to hoard wealth by exploiting loopholes in the system, rather than by challenging those more powerful. Rich beyond her dreams, Toora swathes herself in expensive clothes and keeps a loyal consort as a symbol of her power."

SO! Toora's an evil one it appears, and quite hairy! haha! And she'll be in Ep2, probab;y making shady dealings with Palpatine! Fit THAT into you precious hair theory! A hairy woman, and she's not scantily clad, she seems to wear a moo moo of some sort, which I suppose fits into the scantily clad theory, though not the color theory since she wears purple which is supposed to represent peace, but no matter cause she's crazy hair and crazy bad! Mwahahahaha!!!!....

(*grumble grumble by two weeks ago I assume u mean the same post that's on the first page here which says nothing about Toonbuck Toora grumble grumble*)

She still might work into the theory, give it a chance to be debated....

No, I was actually referring to my post which *did* say something about her. On more than one occasion. Helps if you read 'em, boys.

grrr....once again the darkside has clouded my vision....I didn't see her in that post at first, I guess cause she was listed alone and i didn't see her as part of the big groups, but it's ok cause it's given me time to think. She still fits into the theory cause 1, she can't control her hairiness and was at one time idealstic and good hearted. Just cause she became bad, it's not like she's gonna shave her body. So I think an addition to the theory may need to be made that uncontrolable hairiness on someone evil means that they were probably good at one point....

Darn, I have failed to foil the theory and have instead added to it! grrr....I dunno if I'm cut out for this whole darkside thing

And she is female. Women and facial hair is still a tricky topic when considered within the theory.

And in addition to being tricky re: the theory, it's just kinda creepy, no? I mean, hey - to each his own, and all that. Just that my own is more toward the non-furry section of the girls' locker room.

Still, like shoe said, she started out good. Which makes her an exception, right?

I have decided - I will grow a beard myself - I want to be a good guy. Besides, look what growing a beard did for Elvis Grbek - they beat the Rams!

Welcome to beard discussion, jjas. Queeq is the head beard master of discussion and speculation here. GL's beards since the 1970s seem to have invaded all of the sw saga, so it is of great importance now in the current ep 2 that ramifications and symbolism run rampant in discussion. Food theory also important, especially since there is a diner in ep2.

Queeq, where have you been? The hair discussion is short on news breaks, until GL can be seen again in public.

This entire forum is short on spoilers. It looks like the TFN Plot is all we have to go by for now. Not may beards there, none other than we know so far.

Just when things get slow around here, another beard picture comes along to lift us back up again. Here's a nice picture of Ewan (sportin' the beard) and Hayden.

Good find BobaPhil, can't believe I missed that one! Here's the direct linkfolks: http://www.theforce.net/episode2/newspics/ewan_hayden.jpg

Well it's not a great scan and it's not much new, but it provides an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast beardiness between the baddest of the bad ad the goodest of the good in the Star Wars univers. One glance clearly shows how different the hair makes the two characters. Obi Wan is clearly very wise and experienced at this point, while Anakin has so much to learn and is very prone to the dark side. I think this pic is a great opportunity for any of u computer artists out there to have some fun. How bout slappin some jedi garb onto them and inserting a background? I'd like to see what comes up!

BIG NEWS PEOPLE! Latest story on TFn:

    "Ewan in UK Newspaper
    Mon, Oct 30, 00 06:10:46 PM EDT

    Tom tells us this:
Just thought you might like to know, Ewan Mcgregor appeared in The Daily Mail in the UK with his kid. He was playing in a field and the photos show that he's shaved off his beard! I don't have a scanner so no pics, sorry. Now that's he's shaved off his beard, he must have finished filming on Episode 2?
Not necessarily, it wouldn't take long to grow it back out, especially considering the pickup shots wouldn't occur until March. Thanks for the story - if someone has a scan of them - send them in!"

OK, this isn't exacly speculation yet, but let's think for a moment. One, I guess Ewan didn't like wearing the beard as much as we thought. And two, for pick up shots could Ewan be sporting a fake beard? And if so what does the theory say about half gake beard half real?

Maybe he shaved it off for another role he is doing. I dont know his schedual but it is possible. And for pick-ups, i would imagine he would grow it back.

On starwars.com characters section its says Boba-Fett wears:

"Braided Wookiee scalps hang over his right shoulder."

could boba use the power of hair as some kind of protection? is there something special about wookiee fur? or, does he just dislike wookiees?

The wookiee braids probably mean that Boba believes hair is good in a special way. Wookiees as we know, have beards all over. And they live over 800 years. I think Boba uses it for longer life. As we know from ROTJ only real living hair gives longer life.
