So how about Bartlett Lanes on Saturday the 24th? The real question is: Do we want to be there during Cosmic Bowling or not? I'm not a big fan of it, but I'll go along with whatever the group wants.

Of course, we could also bowl at Jillian's at Peabody Place.

 

I love Cosmic Bowl!!! We should do the lanes here in Cordova or Jillians or Billy Hardwick's. Bartlett and Imperial Lanes = teh dump. Jillian's bowling is fun. As long as there is alcohol involved. Cosmic bowling starts at 9pm. We usually go have dinner and/or drinks then go to Billy Hardwick's.

 

Rhonda: The last time we bowled at Bartlett, it wasn't bad at all. They offer Cosmic Bowling on Saturday afternoons, which I thought might be more convenient for everyone. Do either of the other lanes do it during the daytime?

And, no more Imperial Lanes. They are so.... so... pre-Empire. Do it yourself scoring? No way!

Of course, if I'm pushing pizzas, then I may not get to go at all!

I can go with either. I mean heck, we go bowling at the ones on Winchester/Mendenhall after work parties!

Cosmic or regular- doesn't matter. Just let me know when/where and I'll show up.

BTW- slightly off subject, but once we've all got costumes I'd like to get a few group shots of us around town, especially in front of Graceland's gates. Maybe we can the week before/after MSC, or if we get to go to the RMH.

 

There is something just WRONG about Cosmic bowling in the daytime. I can't get in a bowling frame of mind until after dark (and a couple of drinks!) [face_shocked] I like the 9pm bowling myself, its more fun. I can't ever get anywhere before dark Sat.! I say we give Billy Hardwick's a try. They have a cool new set up with carpet and stuff that glows in the dark! Its by Hancocks, and not far for the Lin-meister! And it has more adults.... Remember we only have to fit Yours, Trace's, Lin's, Sal's and my schedule - so who care what time of day it is???

 

I've been there before! That's cool with me. Anywhere you guys want to eat before? There's a new Huey's, on Poplar, Pizza Cafe or Perkins on Park, 3 Lil' Pigs in the bowling parking lot, or a few others in the area.

The 31st is better for me too, anyway.

There's a lot of good stuff in that area. I had forgotten about 3 Little Pigs, I used to love their BBQ!

Memphis Pizza Cafe is good too!

Oh yeah - this is January. I'd been sending in my requests for the next work schedule and forgot what month it is....but it's still 2003, right?

 

OK, so how about Saturday, January 31st at 9pm at Billy Hardwick Lanes for a little Cosmic Bowling? (Or whatever time it starts.) We'll need to get a head count so we'll know how many we'll have to possibly reserve some lanes.

Sound like a winner to everyone? If so, I'll get it posted and try to let some our AWOL and prospective members know.

 

Usually if you get there by 8:30 or so you can just get right in, they have two sides - it's a pretty big alley. I used to work with Rebecca Hardwick. (How that is relevant to this convo I have no idea.....)

I like Huey's because you can get refreshing beverages there, I say we eat before, but I'll do whatever you guys decide.

 

I'm all for eating before. So, then let's say Huey's at about 7 pm, then Billy Hardwick's Lanes at 8:30 pm.

PS- If you guys haven't gotten your new SMT hockey jersey from Rhonda make arrangements to try and get one from her on the 31st at dinner or the bowling alley- they look great!

 

And they are totally awesome.

BTW- Where the hell is everyone? We've lost contact with the majority of our members lately.

The new Huey's is on Poplar just west of Mendenhall/Mt. Moriah and the Paradiso theater, or east of Colonial. It's in the same shopping center as a Blockbuster and across from an AmSouth. Can't remember the street, but there's a post office down it.

Billy Hardwick's Lanes are off Quince at White Station I believe (anyone correct me if I'm wrong) and in the same shopping center as a Hancock's, 3 Little Pigs, and another Blockbuster.
