Chapter 15
The Dark Side

Padme would finally know the truth. She knew that much for certain as she boarded the ship, hand and hand with the monster.

He was rough and gentle at the same time. She knew he couldn?t help it. Fifty percent of his body seemed to be a robotic skeleton. He was an Imperial knock off of that Grievous character during the Clone Wars.

Although she didn?t know what lies beneath the flesh either. Perhaps she almost took his condition lightly. He seemed so powerful and strong at times. Yet, he was vastly vulnerable. Perhaps not to the feeble attacks of the Rebellion, but surely to something.

Vader sat silent on the trip back to the Destroyer which was orbiting the planet. Padme could feel he was disturbed. Like he had terrible news, even though he promised to bring back Anakin. He wouldn?t have said it, if he couldn?t do it. And why couldn?t he? He either was Anakin or she knew he could renew life, bring it back, he could do it once more.

Either that or just take your damn mask off, and give me back my Ani!

Once they boarded the Destroyer, Vader immediately led her to the control room, as pilots and officers monitored the ships progress. Vader walked up to his most trusted official, Admiral Zantho.

?Admiral Zantho!? Vader barked.

?Yes, mi Lord.? The Admiral saluted.

?Set our course once again, for Mimban.? Vader looked down to Padme and nodded in a sickening way.

She had expected him to bring her right to his quarters, he was going to remove his mask. Wasn?t he?

?Absolutely mi Lord.? Zantho shot Padme a piercing wide-eyed glance.

Vader motioned for Padme to walk in front of him as they exited the control room. She didn?t know where to go so she just walked to her room until told otherwise.

Vader followed intently behind her, with his arms folded behind his back. He was almost hunching down on her, as an animal would its prey.

She punched in her security code and the door shot open, she attempted to enter the room, and Vader snatched her arm and flung her around, almost violently. His head almost seemed to bob up and down in front of her, looming over her, trying to intimidate her.

His attitude had changed since she had asked for Anakin.

Oh? He isn?t Anakin. Vader is jealous because he loves me and I love Anakin.

?I will show you on Mimban where you were resurrected. That is where we will need to bring Anakin once we exhume his body. I know just where it is.?

She knew she had asked for it, but this was morbid beyond anything she could ever imagine. She couldn?t reply.

?Afterwards we will need to work together.? Vader instructed her.

?I understand. I will do anything.?

?Good then. The Emperor now holds the crystal that is needed for me to perform the procedure on your husband. We must destroy him? Destroy him for Anakin.? Vader coaxed her.

Yes, then my Padme? We can rule the Galaxy as Husband and Wife, just as I planned! You will not take my dream from me, nor will anyone take you from me.

?I will help you, the Emperor must be destroyed no matter what. It?s the least I can do on behalf of Bail.? Padme agreed to his request.

Okay, this is what I think. Vader is going to show Padme how to conduct the resurrection ceremony. Then they'll go after Palpy. Vader knows that he'll probably die from the battle but that's okay because in order for the ceremony to work the person has to be dead. Padme will then bring Vader/Anakin's body to Mimban and bring him back to life.

Am I close? Or am I totally off the mark? Either way, I'm dying to read the next post!!!!
