Why doesn't Dark Horse offer you more gigs? The Tag and Bink stories are the best things to come out of the official LucasArts woodwork for years.

What, three Tales stories, the first two Tag and Binks, these new comics (the last of which just barely came out), the upcoming collection, a short-lived Insider series, and the Star Wars Fan Film Awards...and you're wondering why he doesn't get more gigs? What do you expect, a monthly comic book and a feature film?

You know, I have yet to read the original Tag & Bink, and I was lukewarm on the Tales story and the first Return issue, but I really, really enjoyed this one. It was worth the three bucks for "Chancerler" alone.

And Marangon, as always, rocks the house.

YEAH Tag & Bink on TV, in cinema, books, more comics... toys! I want Tag&Bink action figures!

please more of them! maybe they had children with some girl they left later and these will be around for NJO and Legacy

Tag and blink are awesome. I can't wait for the TPB. but you don't want to over do it with a TV show. Then it just gets mundane. sorry but thats my opinion.

Question for mr Rubio: It is a nice joke that nothing ever happens on Tatooine, but why didnt you decided to let them go to Alderaan at the end? Just to tie it better with the other story that has them in the service of Alderaan onboard the Tantive.

1.) REVERSE ANGLE ? Of the last panel on the previous page. Anakin?s saber comes down on Tag and Bink, but it only cuts their Jedi braids off. Tag and Bink have their eyes closed, fearing their impending death.

2.) NEW ANGLE ? Favoring Anakin as he leans down to Tag and Bink.

ANAKIN: YOU GAVE ME SOMETHING ONCE THAT WAS VERY SPECIAL TO ME, AND FOR THAT I?M GOING TO SPARE YOUR LIVES. BUT HERE ARE THE CONDITIONS?

3.) NEW ANGLE ? All of them are still in frame.

ANAKIN: YOU FORGET YOU WERE EVER JEDI. YOU DON?T PRACTICE IT, YOU DON?T MENTION IT, AND YOU NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE. LIVE GOOD LIVES, CAUSE IF I SEE YOU AGAIN I WILL KILL YOU.

5.) CLOSE ? On Anakin?s cybernetic hand shaking Tag?s. Bink is in the middle ? mirroring the panel from the first time he and Tag shook on a deal.

6.) DEXTER?S DINER ? WIDE ? NIGHT ? Dexter and the boys sit in a booth. The diner is pretty empty save for another young boy who sits in the booth with Kannen Doom (now dressed in her bounty hunter outfit) behind Tag and Bink.

CAPTION: LATER?

BINK: ?AND THEN HE JUST LEFT US

DEXTER: WELL BOYS, I CAN SEE YOUR PROBLEM, BUT SINCE THE WAR MY FUNDS HAVE BEEN LOW. THERE?S NO WAY I?D HAVE ENOUGH TO GET YOU TO WHERE YOU NEED TO GO.

7.) NEW ANGLE ? CLOSE ? Favoring the boy leaning over the booth to talk to Tag and Bink. It?s a young Boba.

BOBA: WE COULD GIVE YOU GUYS A RIDE. WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

BINK: ALDERAN

BOBA: NO PROBLEM. BY THE WAY, MY NAME?S BOBA.

It was more of a melencolie ending, and Dave wanted the funny - hence the final draft.

That sure helps to answer my question and makes me come up with another question, but that will follow later. While the ending as it is funnier I really like this ending too, as you said its more a melencolie ending throwing us back at the rivalary between Boba and Tag and Bink. Seeing Boba already with Kannen is a nice thing too.

And here follows the question: Are there any mayor jokes/scenes like this original last page that were cut out?

 

Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this.

Yes there was one that I can recall and it was the first panel of the first issue. The bumper plat on the Star Destroyer originally said: "How's My Flying - Call 1 800 EMPEROR" but it had to be changed becaue that's the number for Ceasar's Palace in Atlantic City NJ.

 

Hey Mr. Rubio! Tag and Bink are great and one of the things that I loved the most is that, from a certain point of view, they could almost be canon. I actually tried to tie them into one of my What's the Story entries where they were just bumbling Rebel agents who made outrageous claims about their importance in galactic events. Kind of like the Devaronian Version from the Republic comics. People kind of get all up in arms when I talk about canonizing T&B because they say "That would mean Tom Servo is canon. Or the fish from Finding Nemo!" But, they don't get it. The visual stuff, wouldn't be canon. I look at those just as sight gags. But the EVENTS are true and Tag and Bink are just embellishing them a bit and the comics would just be their fanciful stories, told from their exaggerated perspective.

Alas my WTS entry was not chosen but I hope you don't mind my desperate fanboy attempts to bring a more "canon friendly" in-universe reality to your characters.

Again, great series and the Manny Both-Hands bit was brilliant.
