    It's true, right?
We've discussed how she scars him perhaps on purpose, to mark him as monster, but we have not discussed how she gets him to show some skin... Against his will.
And she goes for the sides of his robes. [face_rofl]

Can I just say- Rian if you are listening- if it so happens Rey is injured and Kylo takes her away for safety, please let the only mode of transportation left be the Falcon. How amazing would that be? Kylo has no choice but to take it- and he of course knows how to fly it.

eta: Or, or....It's Kylo and Finn with an unconscious Rey and Kylo says to Finn, "You need a pilot...."

Him knowing how to fly that ship somehow paints an incredibly sexy scene for me.

    Or him flying anything.

Ok I'm done goodnight one and all.[face_shhh]

As long as Kylo doesn't say that while staring into Finn's eyes, that would be fine.

Also, Finn would say: I don't need a pilot, I have one. :p

Do you think Kylo has a pilot for his awesome looking ship? Or perhaps he pilots it himself?

I don't think Kylo pilots anything. I think he is chauffeured around and he wants to distance Ben Solo. Which is why it would be cool to see him fly something cause you know he knows how and was probably taught as a wee one.

Agreed with everything you said about the potential and how disappointing it would be if they didn't follow through in the sequels.

That said, I want to say something about TP. Reylo got me interested in Anidala, the black sheep of SW. And I watched the movies again because of Reylo and started to appreciate what has been done. Shoddy execution aside, it was bold of Lucas to make TP as a epic, tragic romance where sunny, child heroes fall in love and start to down-spiral as they grow so that at the end, he becomes the villain who wants to kill her (even though he loves her more than anything) while she wants to run away from him in horror (even though she loves him just the same). That's very unusual trajectory and it makes sense that it wasn't as big hit with female audience as they expected. It's a very difficult romance that also had execution issues. But anyway, I appreciate the risk taken and the couple in the light of reylo whom I see as reverse Anidala since they met when he was already a villain so where Anakin found himself at the end of his marriage to Padme, Kylo found himself when he met Rey. Padme saw the worst of Anakin at the end of their relationship while Rey saw the worst of Kylo little after she met him. So while Anidala relationship degenerated as Anakin kept falling deeper and deeper into the darkness, will Reylo take the opposite turn?

ReyofLightSide Kylo doesn't pilot anything cause Snoke doesn't let him. Kylo would fly away. Oh, wait, imagine if Rey said yes to teacher offer and they were about to fly away but Snoke checked Kylo's chastity GPS and brought them back? Yeah. Snoke wants Virgin!Kylo to stay a virgin, like evil dragon/queen/wizard/other fairytale menace who keeps the princess under the lock and key symbolic or otherwise. He imprisoned Kylo's honor in 1000 layers and that GPS belt. Poor Kylo. Layers removal will be epic.

I agree. He's too worried about his awesome entrance to be piloting. And piloting would probably remind him too much of his father.

OTOH, if he doesn't pilot, and if he wants to be like Vader, there's something wrong there...

He either didn't read all all of his grandpa's bio or had only access to a heavily edited version...

I completely agree. It also makes for the absolutely best relationships! Both in real life and the movies. ;)

Also, to add onto the thought of how rare these epic kind of romances can be, the most recent one that I think of off the top of my head might be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and even there it's not a total analogue.

How long was the Millenium Falcon on Jakku? Did they say during TFA?

I'm just wondering about all this headcanon of Han teaching Ben how to pilot the Falcon. I guess it was still in Han's possession when Ben was a young boy.

What if Kylo is a rubbish pilot?! I guess he would know about his beloved grandpa being an ace pilot, though, and would want to emulate him, if not his father.

Yin-Yang is a notion in Chinese philosophy that quite literally surrounds the harmony between Dark and Light. I'm sure you've seen the Yin-Yang symbol before? It's pretty ingrained in popular culture around the world... a circle separated in two, one half black, the other white, with a small orb of white in the black and a small orb of black in the white. There's a reason Rey and Ren have been described using Yin and Yang terminology so much. Ren is Dark with a little Light, Rey is Light with a little Dark.

Pandas are an extremely famous symbol of Yin-Yang. I can't imagine the "Space Bear" title referring to anything else. The most obvious connection would be the fact that pandas have black and white fur. MyOnlyHope posted a link to a website that discusses the symbolism. The paragraph she referenced pretty much summed up the whole idea. Here's a similar summary:

"The giant panda was thought to be a physical manifestation of Yin-Yang as its body is both black and white, the two colours standing in stark contrast on the animal's pelt. The panda's placid nature is a demonstration of how Yin and Yang, when perfectly balanced, contribute to peace and harmony."

Or just read it like this:

"Rey and Kylo Ren are a physical manifestation of Light and Dark. Together, they can demonstrate how the two sides of the Force, when perfectly balanced, contribute to peace and harmony."

We don't know how long the Falcon has been on Jakku. Some people still associate it with Rey being left there. [face_dunno]

Again, maybe he doesn't know grandpa was an ace pilot. Or maybe he does, but he thinks emulating grandpa means carrying a red lightsaber and wearing a freaky mask.
You know, since he can't match the piloting, at least he beat grandpa's costume. ;)

But . . . not if he slowly peels off that glove and exposes a mechanical limb. That would kind of kill the moment.

Thank you! I know yin-yang symbolism, but I didn't realize that pandas were often associated with it for any reason other than the most surface one (black and white fur).

My mind just went in 80,000 different, glorious directions with that mental imagery. Thank you for that.

I also didn't realize until this week that Rey does indeed cut away pieces of his cloak, and at the end there is a large tear on the side of his robe, exposing his bare side. It may or may not be caused by the hit from Chewie's bowcaster. I can't wait til we can post gifs on this site so we can all analyze it in depth.

    It's a beautiful, lovely thing.

Maybe he's an average pilot, if not very good. He's a Skywalker/Solo after all. His Uncle Chewie must have taught him something when Han's too busy to do it.

I really think they will give us Shirtless!Kylo. It would be amazing to have some sort of acknowledgement of the 8-pack joke.

Also, his scar that Rey gave him actually goes down his neck and into his collarbone. That fact alone gives me hope that see a shirtless Kylo in all his 8 pack shredded glory in Episode VIII!

Kylo has to be a great pilot because FS tend to have a strong flying touch. It's likely that Snoke doesn't want him to fly (away).

Kylo in MF = emotional breakdown = Kylo's tears =BRING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tormented, Pained Kylo = Best Kylo

Shirtless!Kylo must happen. There's no point to cast those impossibly broad shoulders and that 8 pack to keep them hidden under 10000 layers and GPS of chastity.

I mean, shirtless virgin with battle scars = Disney, are you listening????? Make it so!

    Prayer circle for Shirtless!Virgin!Scarred!Kylo. [face_praying][face_praying][face_praying][face_praying][face_praying]

I'm telling you, with so much pent-up energy between these two, imagine what this becoming canon would do! And this is why I think they took out all the touching in the novelization and the script and kept the movie as a tease. As I've said before, there is a lot of touching in the book and the script, Kylo Ren sure seems to love touching Rey's face (gently if I may add). I think they didn't want to defuse that tension, they wanted it to build and build, to get them within a hair's breadth of each other to drive us crazy with the primal need to see them actually touch. If/when Kylo gets to touch her it will make that moment that much more powerful, even a gentle, subtle, grazing touch. (RIP Little_Boots unmentionables forever and ever at that point xD).

All of this. UST between Rey and Kylo made Star Killer explode! It wasn't a torpedo but Reylo UST that broke SK in half and made it go boom and revert into a giant sun. All without touching (not counting when she extinguished his saber). They are totally teasing us with almost touching and all those Virgin!Kylo layers of clothing, which is another reversal of gender roles - usually female characters in period novels are protected by layers of garments and undergarments, so when they start coming off, it's incredibly erotic, even if it's just a glove or lifting of a veil. Well, just like Kylo umasking. That was really erotic.

Diddy Minty you are killing it in the "Should Kylo be Redeemed" thread. I venture in there every so often and almost immediately regret it every time I do.

I tried to participate awhile back, but no longer felt the urge when I realized how dead set every one was in their ways. It just breaks my everlovin' heart.

    Thanks for keeping it real.
