Whoa, I have not been here in what feels like a LONG time... too long!

Well, Bria, thanks so much for asking about my Sabé story!! It's nice to know you are still interested, (unlike the majority of the world)! Here's the deal, I promise you that I WILL finish my Sabé story! Because I want to! But, I'm just needing to figure things out and EPII will help me also (I need to know more about the Naboo). If you want, when I'm back and posting, I can pm you!

Obischick, it's Dormé not Dorme! Yes, spring is good! It reminds me of Star Wars... I'm so glad about your costume, I'm actually working on a blue Tatooine Padmé (AOTC) outfit, and it's coming along nicely!

Shame on you GB!! My poooooor Ewan... Oh, I love him so... *places hand over forehead dramatically* Sure he's big, but everyone needs a hug every once in a while! Something I'd be glad to supply him with!

Well, I was shopping for a baby gift for a friend and saw a lone "Hidden Majesty" Amidala in a corner of a shelf... for only $5. So, she came home.

What I REALLY want to know is how to repaint the geisha makeup so she's one of our Fab5, not Amidala.

And I was looking at the "flame" dress, thinking I could do it better! Such modesty!

 

Does the doll actually look like Amidala?
Most dolls look NOTHING like what they were modeled to look like. But the flame dress is awful, my friend has the doll...It's hideous!!(IMHO)
I'll stop now.

Hehe! So true Jedi Cyana, the Queen Amidala doll I have, in which she is wearing her throne gown, looks so weird! She's like pudgy or something.. in fact, she kinda creeps me out, that's why she's hidden away in my sock drawer!

Mistress_Renata for some reason what you said about giving your doll a bit of a makeover reminds me of what me and my sister did to our Star Wars action figures, trying to make the women look more individual rather than a bunch of Leia clones. We painted their hair different colors, some had highlights, others had blonde hair.. or whatever, and we also made them little dresses and robes... *sigh* It was so much fun!

Hm... a bit off topic eh? Sorry, well it's just this spring weather is giving me Star Wars flashbacks....

EDIT, BRIEFLY: I, too, feel your pain. Thanks to the RHS members here, I am now a fully-functioning member of the group -- and of society -- leading a productive life, ever since I learnt of the Hallowed "Alt-0233" Keypad Combo.

 

Of course, now I don't remember who asked (EDIT: Renata!! **curtsies**), but recently, I ran across a TON of websites that go into detail about repainting doll faces - Barbies, Gene dolls, you name it, it's been done. I'm trying to remember exactly how I found them... And... well, I guess you could do a search for "repainting dolls." Anyway, that would probably help with re-doing Hidden Majesty Amidala's face.

....yes, I promise to stay on-topic from now on.

Another thing I missed... Yeah, Obischick, that might actually be doable, the "Handlords" concept. I'll run it by My Better Half, maybe. See what she thinks.

But, ah, then again, maybe kreleia's right on the money, and we should go for the "Imperial Guards" leitmotif, instead. Much more authoritarian that way.

Hey everyone! Way too many posts to catch up on. Boy, this place is hopping.

Not too much to add to the ongoing discussion. Renata, I posted what I did to the Hidden Majest dolls on the last page. It takes just a few minutes. Buy an inexpensive Barbie, usually the ones in a swimsuit with little accessories. Turn the Padmé hood inside out and use the seam rippers to unhook the painted face. Then, dress Barbie in the now free hood and gown. It's a lot easier than painting the faces, trust me.

Well gang, it's been fun. However, there's only 30 more days left until Episode II. The script is online, the books are out, and people know major spoilers. I didn't look at the ones above because you guys were so great about marking them. Others may not be. With that in mind, I am taking a leave of absence from the RHS and the JC. Way too tempting for me. I look forward to meeting a lot of you at the Celebration. And I'll be back here first thing May 16.

"Handmen"...heeheeeee...I like. Some nice, ah, connotations, there. Or, maybe "Handymen" might work, too: we could dress the men up as Chippendale's-style beefcake, complete with handyman utility gear.

And Handmaiden outfits.

Oh, and that's Mango (or, Chris Kattan), from Saturday Night Live. Quite the androgynous little imp, who casts s/his spell upon those unsuspecting audience members at his dance performances. Looks a lot like Oakessteve, no? And I'll bet good money both get up in the morning and do their cardiofunk routines to the dance club version of Mariah Carey's "Butterfly"... [face_shocked]

(DISCLAIMER: I am now setting my worldly affairs in order, as of this writing. And be it known that Oakessteve does not get it goin' up to Mariah Carey. My mistake. I should never have issued such a false claim without adequate evidence. Instead, last reports had him speed-dancing to some Tweet and Michelle Branch remixes. Sorry for the slip-up. )
