    Kevin Kiner is KILLING IT.
He now composes at a higher level than 10 years ago, and you can actually hear it.

On a related note, I really like the animated credits sequence they play at end of episodes. The music is great, and it could work well as an episode lead-in the way Game of Thrones, Star Trek and lots of other sci-fi/fantasy shows do it.

I got strangely emotional watching/listening to those end credits. Really beautiful.

I forgot to add to my previous post, that the piano strokes when Baylan Skoll sort of got his hallway scene, were an amazing touch.

I also like the vocal part for Baylan and Shin's entrance, a nice precursor of mystique and tension. The piano really fits the action stemming from that.

I got a Game of Thrones vibe, too, from both elements. The first part of the music -- rhythmically and, to a lesser extent, melodically -- reminds me of this track.

The music is really nice in this, especially familiar interval cues, even only two notes that serve as instant recall to a past mood, but then the third note and so on is unexpected and new. Very clever and very well crafted. Top notch counterpoint.

    And the minimalism in contrast.
Having low brass sustain a unison drone while another instrument plays a minor ninth against that was striking, and the top note descending down three half steps creates a lot of suspense.
And some of the ambient chromatic ghost like sounds are brilliantly executed, again the sustained intervals moving unexpectedly downward after teasing a familiar ambiance.
I have to listen to this music again soon.
    Most impressive, Kiner.

I have a feeling the piano motif will return, escalating in power each time.

It’s right up there with Göransson’s Mando score, which is the gold standard IMO.

I knew it was going to be great at the very beginning, playing over the dark screen and then the red letter crawl.

This was the first Star Wars TV score that really stood out to me. It sounds like 1980s John Williams, but you can also recognize Kiner's style from the animated shows. The sound design (including background noise and such) also hit the spot.

Having followed the character since her debut in 2008, this single piece, particularly the new version of Ahsoka's theme. roused a ton of emotions in me. Kevin Kiner has become a movie-quality composer. It's insane just how much better he's gotten since 2008, when frankly I didn't think he was that good, lol

I think Goransson is still the best of the TV composers, just given the depth of innovative genius in his Mando scores, but Kiner is nipping at his heels with this score. Really good.

I mean Kiner has made more material for Star Wars then even John Williams. Williams only doing 9 movies. Kiner has done 14 seasons of television. So it’s no surprising that he’s good. He wouldn’t be continually rehired if he wasn’t.

I've got varying enthusiasm for all the live action series, but so far each and every one has a terrific main title theme.

I still think Obi-Wan’s is the best (hard to compete against actual JW music) but ya I agree they are all great.

I was a lil' dismayed when I heard that the Obi-Wan theme is so reminiscent of John Paesano's main theme from Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4. I'd literally finished playing that game the week before Obi-Wan premiered; otherwise, I'd be agreeing with you.

I'm pleased that the main theme for the Ahsoka show is actually Ahsoka's theme, and not something 100% new. As much as I adore the theme from The Book of Boba Fett, I was initially a little disappointed that it wasn't a broader, more powerful version of the theme they'd introduced for him in The Mandalorian (which still got used throughout the show anyway, but still).

When I realised that Kevin Kiner was the series' composer, however, I totally relaxed on that point. He knows the importance of a good theme.

Eh, I know plenty of experienced musicians who don't get better with age and experience. :)

Kiner is not such a person. He has improved dramatically.

Let’s not short change JW. He also composed the main theme for Obi Wan Kenobi.

I’m really hoping one of the flashbacks is to the battle of Christophsis, just so we can hear that score again in live action
