I know this group has been pretty tight-knit for a pretty long time but I'm shocked at the lack of any kind of Andor fanfiction. The show is exceptional. Season 2 has even up the bar from season 1. I know where I can go to get it I'm just surprised that there's not a single piece I could find around here.

I'm sorry about that double post I forgot to say: "Sorry about this double post."

I'm sorry for wasting your time with that question and hope to very sincerely apologize for that action: it wasn't at all my intention, and I hope that's able to clear that up.

Once more, Ms.: I apologize for that action and not being aware of that double post.

@Mira_Jade has a short one; was it one of your Olympics threads, Mira?

For myself, Andor is super inspiring for me to write in general, but somewhat intimidating as far as fanfic of the show itself. I don’t at all think I can match that level of quality. But I have some ideas for tight-focus one-shots, always assuming that I can write them in a way I’m satisfied with.

^^ agree with Gabri, Andor has been AMAZING but I have a writing rut that I've been sitting in for twenty years and I'm happy there. :p

Also ... Andor is so tightly written and satisfying that I don't really feel the need to write fix-it fic, which is usually the genesis of my writing. I shouldn't jinx it though.

Hi, welcome to the boards! I don't have a lot to say with regard to fancasting (it just has never really been a thing I've thought about) but I wanted to acknowledge the work that you put into the post and the clear thought that you've put in with both the fancasting and the formatting, which I realize isn't completely intuitive.

With specific regard to fancasting, I just don't ... think about faces that much, as a fanfic writer? I don't know how to explain it beyond that.

@Jacen Skywalker Hi, and welcome to the Fanfic board! I’m not sure why your images aren’t posting, but the best solution that I have found for easily posting images to the boards is to upload them to Flickr. Its image sharing feature offers a pre-formatted BB code that you can cut and paste directly into your message, like this

Hope that helps you, feel free to shoot me a DM if you have more questions!

Can you please give me a full, in-depth instructional breakdown of how to do that and how to use it? Do I have to create an account for that and have to pay for that? I've never used that before.

PS. Could you please reply back as frequently as possible because I don't want to accidentally double post to get in contact with you? I don't wanna get in trouble or banned for that.

I'd be very appreciative, grateful, and thankful for all the help you can give me.

@brodiew Mira's Andor fanfic thread that Gabri mentioned is this one. Highly recommended!

As for reading and writing Andor fanfic right now – for me, this show is so [insert superlatives here] that I want to watch it on its own terms and I'm actively avoiding fanfic until it's done airing. I even had an old crack!fic featuring Cassian that's totally unrelated to the show on my list of goals for WIP month, but Andor took the wind out of my sails. I just need time to digest the series before I can consider reading or writing about it.

One of the things about Andor is that we know how this ends. It's already derivative, from Rogue One specifically and the backstory of the OT generally. The series is doing what I generally feel fanfic itself does best: filling in the gaps. However, finding gaps within the gaps and trying to fill those is necessarily a process of very narrow scope, especially in something as tightly plotted as Andor. There's just less space to fit a fanfic into.

I think, once the series ends, there will be opportunities to add fanfic about various characters who manage to survive (this does not, critically, include Cassian, which is no doubt impactful). For example, Memoirs of the First Senator includes a whole bunch of Mon Mothma stuff, and her character in Andor (season one, season two wasn't out yet), influenced that portrayal.

Mechalich hits the nail on the head, I think, the fundamental problem with Andor is the predestined end. Given, it makes for wonderfully tragic exposition in our learning about the titular character, his connections and friends - especially those who perish in the same action(rest in power Melshi, you were a real one). I adore Andor, and it's primarily responsible for my return to the forums and to my stories, but I don't know if I have the talent or the gumption to try and take on something that is already so fantastic.

Given what we know already, I know somebody out there is probably gonna write some absolutely killer Bix angst, assuming, of course, she survives.

I personally don't feel that this is the problem, or, at any rate, it isn't in my case. There are so many supporting characters whose stories beg to be told (the young woman in the Sienar facility, the Maya Pei Brigade, the various ISB supervisors, Davo Sculdun and his shady dealings, the two dudes from the Ministry of Enlightenment, etc.) and that's before we even get into exploring the backstory of major characters – and then, even that is before we look at the wide world of AUs. I'm sure that the killer Bix angst will be fantastic, but at the end of the day it's very possibly the story I'm least interested in given how rich this show is.

(Also, I'd pay good money to read/watch a sitcom featuring Syril, Dedra and Eedy. If anyone out there feels up to it, I'd be grateful.)
