Once upon a time, there was a farmboy with adoreably long, sandy blonde hair:

Girls everywhere fell in love.


Then it was trimmed, and some rejoiced and some cried...but he was definitely adoreable:

Then he continued to mature through books and comics and action figures and his hair became different, but still wonderful:

Then, IT happened. Or rather.....SHE.

Mara Jade, Emperor's Hand: the woman with the most amazing hair in the galaxy.


And Luke's hair became progressively worse and worse and worse.


It started out workable:

Then came "The Wedding Hair":

Everyone was shocked ...but hoped it was just a bad hair day.


But then came the "swept-back," distinguished look:

Fangirls everywhere cried buckets of tears.


And it just kept on getting worse and worse...and Mara's hair stayed looking incredibly sexy and gorgeous.

Even when they got the "Plastic Treatment" via Barbie...Mara came out on top:

There were tears, denial, and a overwhelming surge in interest in pre-swept-back hair days.

And Mara just kept on looking damn gorgeous...all the way to the end.

And it was only THEN that everyone wised up and gave Luke his amazing hair back!!!!!

Ooh, cuteness!!! Let's don't even go near the eyes though--that's a tie, between his azure and her jade. And that cleft .... oooooh, don't get me started on THAT!!! I do love Mara's hair though--had it compared to sunsets, autumn leaves, etc. It's just sexy and vibrant, like her.

I never liked the way his bangs laid flat on his forehead when he wore this style

It's the farmboy look I've never taken to. *dodges more tomatoes and runs behind a chair for safety*

 

What a wonderful way to wake up in the morning: a talk about Luke's hair.

Honestly, always thought Luke had hideous hair. Especially at the beginning there. But I like the older, distinguished hair so much better. Makes him look older and sophisticated.

Although the farmboy is kinda cute.

 

I so loved his emo ROTJ hair. So vaguely windswept.

 

Ah, this is my favorite of his hairstyles. Neat, but long enough to make me want to run my fingers through it.

I completely agree with your comments on Luke's hair - I thought it looked great all through the movies (farmboy ANH, Jedi ROTJ) and up to Union. Then it went downhill in NJO (still looked great in SQ). But when I saw Inferno's cover, it was awesome!

 

The Farmboy-hair's still my favorite.

 

Luke's hair... *fangirl swoon* Now that made my day.
I had Mara Jade Red hair for a few months after a strange and unearthly dye accident. But it was nice.
