I don't see how anyone can assume we're suddenly seeing things from Tony's first person perspective when that has never ever been done on the Sopranos before. The same thing goes for Tony getting wacked. A main character has never been killed off by a random shooter. We always have intimate knowledge of the shooter, and the shooter's (or shooters') motivation(s) for shooing. Look at Chris (fat Capo flipped by FBI from season one), Big Pussy, Richie Aprile, Jackie Jr., Ralphie, Tony B., Tony (last season), Vito, Chris (Moldasanti), Bobby, Silvio, and Phil. None of these main character were killed by a random people for unknown reasons; and since the hit on Tony had been settled, that can no longer be used as a valid motivation for the supposed series-ending hit on Tony. Even if bathroom-guy turned out to be Davey Scatino, I still think we would need some story arc about him being back in town and wanting revenge on Tony for ruining his life and buisness, otherwise it still seems random.

ASG, if it were the member's only/bathroom guy, I think we'd see him from that camera angle. I definitely see the point about the conversation with Bobby. But I don't think so. The one thing that has me wondering, though, is thta the scene cuts precisely at "Don't stop". I don#t know. I really don't.

And the Phil Leotardo death was absolute briliance. [Crunch]

For those who do think Tony dies (I'm still undecided, hard to get passed the onversation with Booby, though), wo do yo think the shooter is:

-- Member's only jacket guy (I don't think so), we'd eithewr have seen or heard him, I think)

-- The two black guys near the entrance (more likely, IMO -- remember the black guys who tried to kill Tony in Season 1)

And sorry for the double post

How do you figure we'd see Members Only guy from that angle? The last shot is a tight shot on Tony's face. You saw where the bathroom was, right? No way we'd see him. Why would we hear him? If that guy is not important to the scene, then it was really lame to devote that much screentime to him. All the other strangers get one shot, he's got like five. The timing of the abrupt ending is perfect for him to have come out of the bathroom and hit.

I think you've walked right in to David Chase's trap. :p

Of course, by that same logic, one could say that since just as much time (if not more) was given to Tony's potential indictment, then what occurs after the cut to black is the FBI swarming the restraunt and hauling Tony away in handcuffs.

According to interviews, the the guy who played Members Only Jacket says that he was never on the show before, so that would mean that the character more than likely wasnt, either, so that would also mean that any alleged whacking of Tony by this guy would be completely random (and nonsensical).

C'mon, no one knows less about television than television executives. :p

Serious though, everything that has ever happened on the Sopranos has sprung organically from the established narrative. Members-only-jacket-guy hitting Tony does not spring organically from the established narrative. As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of the argument. If anyone got wacked, however, I would say it was the audience.

Well I think he is dead. The series was mainly from Tony's perspective. Not 100%, but it was all about him, the name not give it away? Without Soprano, there is no Soprano. Now what about A.J., Meadow, and Carmella? Well They are part of Tony, but really its always been about Tony. The mob boss who didnt want the job, but was stuck with it.

And really, even though Tony's NY hit has been called off. He is the street boss, and always at risk to get killed. And really what Shore was getting at with Tony looking around is: "This guy gonna kill me or gonna go to take a ****?" And he was hinting at Tony's end.

Tony's alive. There's no official sanction for a hit on him (he made peace with one NY Family under the eyes of another family's boss), and therefore no reason for there to be a hit on him.

    Plus, theres this
