True, but most of the troops we see simply receive a nod from their commanders. Then they immediately go about their business together.

We see no evidence, no subtle hints of any reluctance on the part of the Clones.

They comply fully, without question, hesitation or regret to Palpatine's order. The Jedi generals were their superior officers in a wartime chain of command -- in some cases, they were friends!

In the novel and the shooting script, each replies simply, cooly and identically to '66:' "It will be done, My Lord."

The Clones were no more feeling than the droid army commanded by Grievous. Genetically 'mostly' human, their ethics, individuality and morality were all deprogrammed. Droids in human form.

Obi-Chron, I like your theory. It would make sense to classify the clones as being droids in "human" form. That's why the clones "follow any orders"; because they are droids programmed to do so.

Yes, this is an interesting take. If they did not know to expect the order to come for sure at some point, this is another way to explain their behavior and reaction (or lack thereof) when Order 66 came. It doesn't really address Palpatine's "the time has come" statement, though, but it is a viable option / explanation for the clones' part.

Well there is the chatter going on in their helmet com-links that we're not hearing...it's not like the CT's just acknowledge a nod from their commanders & then start shooting Jedi, y'know. Obviously the commanders relayed the orders to the CT's serving under them, like Gree said something to his fellow CT & then nodded & then they both attacked Yoda & died, yeah?

This was explained (and rather well I might add) by Sidious in Epi.III. When he was talking wih Anakin at the opera.

There must be things that we don't see in the films that contributes to the events.
