I haven't seen SVU in a couple years, so it may be right, I don't know.

But the others I have personal experience of, I completely disagree with. Jim and Pam? Why? I honestly can't think of anything annoying about them. I feel like they've developed pretty normally and have always had the flaws they still have now. I don't get this one at all.

Barney? Are you kidding?! He might have a pretty set schtick, but apparently the people who wrote this article don't realize that this isn't because he's a one-dimensional character, but a pretty complex one. Because his schtick has been firmly seated in a larger character story for him since the first season. He's not at all a charicature. They even acknowledge that his best friends thing he's annoying, but they still love him because they know he also has other facets. That's the whole point! He's possibly the *most* complex character on the show, not the least.

EDIT: Oh! How could I forget to mention Rita. This one really irks me because I know, sadly, so many fans agree. The thing is, she has her flaws in season 4 as always, but so what? The thing is, most of the stuff she said to Dexter about marriage and family is completely true. Some fans probably only ever took Dexter's side because he's our main character and we're in his head. But still, especially given Rita's history of unreliable partnership in marriage, why wouldn't she be upset? Dexter is everything she said (unreliable, secretive) and much, much worse.

Did anyone really think Dexter would handle marriage well? Yeah. He didn't. And Rita's ire was only a fraction of what she would have a right to feel if she actually knew the truth. Also, realistically how could the writers not have Rita getting upset? If she just went along oblivious she would seem downright stupid, as opposed to trusting or loving. Because they're married. He can't hide. She knew things were up, and if she didn't we'd hate her even more for being an idiot. It would be horrible writing. It only makes sense that she was worried about Dexter's perceived lack of commitment given her past and the fact that he *is* lacking in honesty, entirely.

This one honestly feels like a reaction coming from the male fans who feel like the girl should just stay out of his hair. Ridiculous. Even if he weren't who he is, she'd have a write to be concerned that he's never there, doesn't tell the truth, has a history of dishonesty (drug use, so she thinks). The really important thing here being that now they're married. It's a whole new ball game in Season 4.

To be fair, Jim and Pam have been really annoying this season. I guess its the hormones from the pregnancy, but Pam has just been mean a lot this season. Jim becoming manager has taken the character in an interesting direction, but one that doesn't make him as fun as he used to be. Really Pam is more annoying this season. This coming from a person whose favorite character was Pam.

They've always both been mean. It's part of who they are. I don't understand why everyone's so shocked. Plus Pam's had the pregnancy, wedding, and Michael dating her mom. If she doesn't deserve to snap a little, who does?

I'm not saying it's not in-character for Pam to be acting the way she is, I'm just saying that I find the way she is acting to be annoying. And yes, Jim and Pam could be mean in past seasons, but they were never mean-spirited like I feel they've become. I think for any sense of the fun Jim to come back, he will have to be demoted back to a regular sales person.

Bill's fun because he's NOT the stereotypical vampire. Sookie's the annoying one.

I only agree with half of this. Sookie is more than annoying. But that's how she's supposed to be. [face_plain]

Bill. Where do I start? Bill is more boring than a ... toothpick. :p So what if he isn't the stereotypical vampire? Sometimes he NEEDS to start acting like a stereotypical vampire. No wonder Sookie moves on to better fish in the sea. So to speak.

    2) Abby Sciuto, NCIS

"There is a lot of annoyingness on NCIS, a big, clunkily-written, flag-waving rock 'em sock 'em. That British guy with the bowtie? Why is he there? The other dude, the supposed-to-be-hot one? Feh. But worst of all is Abby Sciuto, the alterna techie who exists solely to give the show a little quirk or "edge." Only NCIS isn't that kind of show, it's not plugged-in enough to give us smart jokes about trendy things. Abby is the rah-rah Conservative's idea of what a snarky Liberal should sound like, and it just doesn't work. Plus, it cuts into all the gunplay! We want more shooting, less creaky jokes about goths and other "Look at that crazy broad" stuff."

I like Abby. Sure, NCIS is sort of hokey sometimes, but that's part of it's charm. Whenever Abby guests on NCIS LA, though, that's another story. Those writers are a mess when it comes to connecting the two shows.

Neither Stabler, nor Abby should be on this list. They are both great parts of their respective shows. I agree with DM about the crossovers though, they should either handle them in a more interesting way or leave them be all together.

*snort* Yeah, because NCIS is such a Conservative show full of Conservative characters.
Whoever made this list has obviously never seen the show. It's amazing how little partisan politics comes into play on the show. If they watched the show as much as some of us (hurray for USA's marathons!) they'd know that.

Now, what is annoying is how they have to come up with cheesey fake names for video games and whatnot because they can't say "X-Box".

Abby shouldn't be on the list- I don't watch the show, but my Dad's watched every episode several times (he tends to find a show he likes in reruns and just have it play in the background all the time regardless if he's seen it a thousand times) so it's hard not to have absorbed some of the show.

But, really, if not for Abby, it'd be hard to tell NCIS from most other crime shows.

Plus, she's hot and not annoying (a rare combo in action network shows- I'm looking at you, Heroes! [or, rather, I'm not anymore, and thats sorta the point, isn't it?])

Wait....Stop for a second... Reverse that last bit.

    That's better.

Good GAWD is she annoying, but that show is dreadful. BEYOND dreadful. I cannot believe it's as popular as it is.

It's so bad it actually makes CSI look GOOD!

Stabler really gets on my nerves.

"Well, it looks like the victim was killed and raped by a broom."

"Oh my god. My daughter's boyfriend uses a broom where he works. I better go talk to her."

But really Stabler's character is a product of SVU, which has become far too moralizing and melodramatic on the issue of sex and sexual crimes.

The worst part is that Stabler and Benson stopped doing any detective work several seasons ago. Usually the medical examiner and the guys in the crime lab solve everything and Stabler just narrows his eyes at some suspects and tries unsuccessfully to illicit a confession from somebody.

    1) Eric Murphy & Johnny Chase, Entourage

"Much like Barney, Johnny Drama was a funny, likable mook that has of late become a broadly-drawn bore. His character has gone from being a subtle and sympathetic joke about loser celebrity siblings to just plain pathetic, as dumb and sloppily-rendered a depiction of male idiocy as latter-years Homer Simpson. And Homer is, you know, a cartoon. And Eric... Well, Eric's been annoying from the get-go. This little pissy fast-talker who has no right to be pissy or fast-talking. The joke in the early seasons was that he was a Sbarro manager turned inept Hollywood player. But now that the show has settled into an irksome rhythm of sweet cars, hot chicks, and good times, Eric is nothing more than a Napleonic boy's fantasy, a character who's suddenly "cool" because it's easier to have him be cool. And while we're at it, you know who else is annoying on Entourage? Everyone. Especially The Women. You know, all those lanky model types who are always so down with "Vince" and "E" and "Drama", who play to the sexy whims of the boys' club. If Sex and the City was the ultimate female fantasia about a city full of interesting, impossibly-dashing men, then Entourage is a crude, and depressingly popular, male dreamscape about a city full of dimensionless women who just want to spend their languid afternoons getting stoned and putting out. And we've really grown tired of it."

I say we move on to most annoying TV characters of all time.

Numbers 1-10, because he's just THAT annoying, go to Steve Urkel.

Actually, I pretty much regard the entire cast of Entourage as annoying.
