Knowing those movies made a billion dollars a piece hurts my soul. In any case, I do have some ideas for a cartoon better than RID. Which I think will no doubt find itself on the cutting room floor. 1: THE WRECKERS: show about the autobot special forces team lead by Ultra Magnus. Magnus is usually not the leader of the group in the mythology, but he's a big name with a great toy concept. Plus no Optimus in charge. Main Villain would be Shockwave. Story takes place on cyberton during the years that Optimus and friends are asleep on Earth. 2. Dinobots: a series about this elite squad of ass kickers is long overdue. This series involving the more intelligent group from then comics as opposed to the original cartoon versions of the characters. See something a little darker and more akin to Exosquad. 3. Transformers vs GI Joe: based on the popular new comic by Tom Scioli. The series itself reminds me of an old 80's cartoon anyway. Series has enough craziness that will blow kids minds. Perfect to put on before or after adventure time. 4. More Than Meets The Eye: another comic adaptation. Tricky because this series would fit better in an adult swim sort of attitude. Still it's one of the best syfy series on the stands and has done more new things character wise with these robots than any transformers related media. Basically think of it as Star Trek meets Community. Make a great tv series, would be over kids heads though. 5. Pretenders/ Headmasters. Two concepts that haven't really been included in any toyline or tv show since they were created really. 6. Adaptations of then G1 Japanese series. Take the ideas and characters from those series and make them work in a modern telling. Starsaber would make a great new hero for kids. 7. Adaptation of the G1 comic. Truer return to G1 than anything before. Comic series was better than the cartoon for the most part. Especially the Simon Furman years. Plus a cartoon version of "Spike and the Carwash of Doom." 8. Return to the beast era. 9. Something entirely new. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I wouldn't be surprised if they did some kind of Transformers vs G.I. Joe animated series/toyline sometime, if just to keep the Joe IP out there, since it's not really active nowadays.
Sad that they can't seem to get a GI JOE line moving. Maybe it's the military aspect of it that doesn't work as well now given the times. GIJ is still the best army men line in history. Had everything you'd could ever think of that would fit an army theme. Take it all outside, build your battleground and have fun. There should be a GI JOE themed warhammer game. If Paramount really wants to kickstart that GI Joe franchise (I thought the 2nd film was a much better effort) then not only add The Rock but also Transforming robots. Straight up Avengers-bump it.
Well, that's not entirely true. Oilmaster, based on the prototype figure for either the 88 or 89 lines, was initially displayed at BotCon 96. The Double Pretender gimmick was abandoned, but Hasbro and Fun Publications have opted to create a new one using a redeco of Legends Swerve and Flanker, with a new Pretender shell made by Boss Fight Studio. This is the first true Pretender created for the Timelines/Classics/Generations line and the first since the end of the Generation 1 line. As to Headmasters, a new mold for Brainstorm was released late last year... While Fortress Maximus was reissued. Plus, Scorponok had a new toy release that was a redeco and retool of an existing mold. Scorponok was "Energon" Scorponok and released at last year's BotCon.
that was one of my two favorite comic books . it started me off in comic books. That movie was horrible. So many good characters they could have used. How can someone mess it up that badly i don't even know. I know partly when it came out they wanted to downplay the U.S.A. aspect of the team , given today's global box office. Still, the characters were just...ugh.

A few more episodes into RID... show hasn't improved much for me. A couple of ok character moments here and there but they're very brief- and all of the Decepticond being animals is strange because they never address it AFAIK (unless the first half of the pilot died ). I'm glad they're not full beast modes but still, Also I gotta wonder why the team hasn't studied the prisoner manifest and are always being surprised by what Cons they encounter. It's like, hey, if you did some homework maybe you'd be more prepared for these situations- oh, and maybe you'd know what to look for so you can find them more effectively....

I've thought that myself with both the "Classics"/"Generations" figures and even third party ones, but also with the "Masters Of The Universe Classics" series. Fracture is the first Decepticon to be fully normal and Megatronus will be as well. Well, they have to sell toys...
Well they still could- they don't need to reveal them or anything but maybe when Grimlock is being mind controlled they'd be able to go "I bet the escaped Con that controls minds is on him... let's see what he looks like" instead of "Grimlock has gone bad! No wait, maybe not- let's look at the Cons and, oh, here we go- one that can control minds!".
Coming soon from Takara's E-Hobby Shop. Blackarachnia, a repaint and retool of "Animated" Blackarachnia. Slipstream, repaint and retool of Windblade. Nightbird, a repaint and retool of Arcee. Right, but this show is aimed at kids in the "Pokemon" fashion by using the profile cards as a basis for each Con encountered. Excellent photos of the unreleased "Generation 2" Protectobots. http://www.seibertron.com/transform...ensor-uncovered-gallery-part-5-hotspot/33315/ As well as the upcoming Takara version of said team. http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takara-transformers-unite-warriors-un03-defensor/33319/ You can find the Hasbro version up in Canada. Good news for the film series. And speaking of the writers, here they are. http://news.tfw2005.com/2015/06/25/transformers-cinematic-universe-writers-room-team-photo-294792 Plus, here's a nice wallpaper for your desktop.
That's promising. And, yeah, I get the whole profile card/Pokemon angle- I just think they could have kept that angle without sacrificing character competence.
