That's a philosophical question. I'm sure every being has their own definition. Mine is the desire to use The Force with no artificial limits. Someone else would likely call me Grey, at best, for that definition.

Would Voldemort have made a good Sith? He believed there was no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it.

Well, pre-Sidious, he would have made a decent Sith. Sidious would wipe the mat with him like the Hulk and Loki.

 

My definition never lied in the “sith are a species” realm. In fact I always saw sith as a cult or spiritual title. Maybe some kind of lineage, but never a species of aliens called sith.

 

Well, I don't think nuCanon has gone that far back, yet, so make up your own!

 

It would be neat to see if Disney ever retcons the schism between the Jedi and Sith, similar to the Protestant Reformation, only with lightsabers and space battles.

 

that would be pretty cool. So many historical parallels can be used as templates for a good Star Wars story.

 

And, yet, Disney won't use those good historic parallels. Well, they usually don't.

 

And yet, Disney made propaganda cartoons during WW2 at the behest of the American government.
