So I wrote week 11 and was like "Cool - 1 drabble to go! That's enough time to wrap this" and then realised that I'd already written the 5 drabbles...which means that I would need drabble 6...

    Oops!

I have a bit of an update to make:

Week 9 - Broken Song - All the Davin and Alessi angst
Week 10 - The Monster in the moors - Davin goes hunting for a monster on the moors...
Week 11 - Lamp lighter - Saelyra discovers something new about her Master (and all our writer's nightmares come true)

    And finally caught up!

Week 12 - Soon - I was asked for the backstory of the Sith artifact that causes Davin and Alessi so much angst...and here it is!

I’ve finished my week 13 too:

    Cafpocalypse Now
(thanks to @Raissa Baiard for suggesting the title)

With that, I’m now caught up with this thread’s regular schedule, and I promise I am through with these pesky rapid-fire updates! :p

Well. It's a cheerful set of prompts, that's for sure.

Which don't leave a lot of room for broader interpretations. [face_thinking]

True. I was turning them around in my head in the tram from work and came up with a rather morbid story concept (which felt rather bizarre while driving through all the Christmas decorations that sprouted over the weekend). I can see a few options for a humorous interpretation too, but I don't really have a story for that.

And there's the challenge in challenge. ;)

This is a darker set, to be sure, as may happen across a collection of more than a hundred prompts - but I trust that everyone will be able to come up with a creative solution, even if that means subverting the first, obvious meanings for a different genre entirely. In fact, I rather look forward to seeing who can! [face_batting]

It does coincidentally mesh with the pairings I wanted to focus on. It's just that I'll have to work on meshing the prompts with the relationship contexts. It'll definitely lead to oomphy undertones.

Well...one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies, Bad Santa, involves robbery and murder (among other things :p). It's dark. But funny as hell, and honestly, really sweet in an odd kind of way. Plus there's a couple of quotes that...well, let's just say they work perfectly for a certain character in my little corner of fandom. [face_laugh] So maybe I'll have to watch it this week. You know, for inspiration. :p

More seriously, off the top of my head: "Graveyard" could involve a "graveyard shift" or a walk through a graveyard (which doesn't necessarily have to be angsty or dramatic!).
"Ghoul" sounds like an insult ("you're such a ghoul", etc). :p
"Shroud" could be something "shrouded from view".

Just some quick, first thoughts. If anyone wants to brainstorm this set I'd be happy to help if I can!

There you go! If anyone can put a mushy spin on this set, it's you! [:D] At first glance - I am still back on Week 4 myself 8-} - I thought that these could be cathartic or healing, myself. Or each word can be used figuratively, beyond their first obvious meaning, just like @amidalachick brilliantly pointed out! They only have to go grimdark if you want them to.

My humorous idea started from the fact that one of the best brands of champagne out there, Veuve Clicquot, literally means "the widow Clicquot". From there I pictured a graveyard of empty bottles and a group of people getting very drunk while telling spooky stories.
