True dat, Boyega also said he wasn't interested in SW anymore some years ago but is now open to return.

 

I don't know where you get your opinions, laserbrains. Any studio would be thrilled to have the kinds of failures those franchises have had.

 

I do think it's possible we could see a SW reboot at some point in the future, but that doesn't mean it's probable. For a reboot to happen, LFL would have to fail at most of their upcoming film projects, which I don't see happening. But, for the sake of conversation, if the Rey films all underperform, if the First Jedi film flails, and if the Filoni-Mandoverse somehow doesn't translate to the big screen, then I can see enough pressure build to just recast the originals and reboot.

But the odds of that much total failure is just so low, especially when LFL has seemingly learned from past mistakes. I expect the franchise to pick up and grow stronger as it moves forward. Maybe we'll reboot things in 50+ years -- after most of us oldies are dead.

* Two villain roles are also supposed to be cast.

According to Sneider: Ryan Gosling is going to be at Star Wars Celebration. There will be another SW scoop later in the week he says.

All of the franchises in question are either

1. Rebooted(James bond)

2. prequels all of the time and unable to get a movie off the ground(Star Trek)

3. Took decades to recover(planet of the apes, which is also a reboot-prequel)

or in the case of marvel

4. Is on the verge of rebooting via secret wars

not a single Disney plus sequel has ever succeeded at the box office, there goes Dave filoni’s movie

Rey will have to answer for the sins of rise of Skywalker, which with its B+ CinemaScore was deeply toxic to the general audience, to get a B CinemaScore as a Star Wars movie is unthinkable

the first Jedi film, though prequels have succeeded at the box office, they also have a violently consistent track record that the less “connected” to the original films a prequel is, the more the box office of said prequel is likely to fail with planet of the apes and Prometheus standing as EXTREME outliers

those outliers must take into account that the Jedi simply aren’t as popular as the apes and the Xenomorphs are to the general public

Yup! And don't forget, Sneider will be dropping SW news as he hears the same info from Celebration that we hear.

 

So with the new show announced. And seems to be adopting GL Sequel treatments for Maul. The only thing left are 200 order 66 survivors and The Whills and their micro worlds. The Sequels and tv shows done the rest of GL Sequel treatments. Wonder if they do Whills in Ahsoka season 2.
