The Vintage Collection Returns Spring 2017

Haven't heard anything myself. Which makes me sad. I'm itching to hear something! Maybe news with solo?

 

I'm thinking we'll hear/see something @ the New York Toy Fair in late February.

 

Wonder if VC will launch along with Solo merch.?

 

I'd be down with that honestly.

 

I think that's the plan.
Date I've heard is April 20th/21st.

It's silly because the OT figures aren't the first wave so it will not line up with the movie anyway.

I really hope the first wave which consists of repacks isn't dead on arrival because that would be a shame.

 

I'll likely purchase that first wave simply to have the new card backs. Add to that the figures finally being available for people without wal-Marts close by, and I think the line has the potential to do well.

 

So... It's Spring.. When is the VC coming???

 

They've arrived at my grocery store. I saw Rey and Jyn last night. $14 each. Bleh....I passed.

For that much I'll likely pass. I already have those exact figures. Maybe Snoke because I don't have one of him.

 

It was at my grocery store - they do mark things up a little bit. I don't know what they're going for at regular retail. My guess is $12.99 which still isn't that great.

 

That's about the price for the Black series exclusives, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the price point they go with.

Do you recall the size of the cardbacks? Are they like the old VC?

 

Yeah they look just like the previous Vintage Series figures. I think I read that the cards are being sent out pre-punched which is pissing people off.

 

Saw the Vintage figures at my Gamestop! They had one Snoke and two stormtroopers. They're already out and about in my neck of the woods, so keep an eye out! Also saw the Solo Black Series figures, but they weren't for sale yet.

 

Picked up TFA Stormtrooper, Snoke, and Rebel Soldier. These look great and seem to be picking up steam even with all the Solo merchandise.

Found the entire wave 1 at walmart today! Sadly whoever has been stocking the toy section just doesn't care. They weren't even by the Star Wars toys, they were far down the aisle, shoved onto a shelf with a bunch of marvel toys. Looks like the employee just opened a bunch of boxes, threw the toys down, and moved on.

It's a Walmart exclusive? I'll never see it then. Actually my local Wally World had a few of the new vintage--new vintage... yeah--the other day. Only one in the entire wave I wanted was the Hoth Trooper and he was bent up. Also, his was the only card that was dual language (French and English, presumably meant for Canadian market?). It had Hoth Trooper and underneath it Hoth whateverthefrenchwordfortrooperis.

 

I couldn't believe I found the whole set of wave 1 on clearance for $5 each!
When does wave 2 hit shelves?

Wow, on clearance already? My Wal-Mart is still sitting on TLJ figs @ full retail, and probably will be until Ep. IX hits. Most stores here seemed to get about a case each of the new TVC figs, and mostly sold through them, a few stragglers aside. I wonder if that was a goof on your store's part? Either way, congrats!

 

It was a Wal-Mart and possibly a goof. Some stores are not ordering these. Another bad decision for the company.
Any idea when we will see wave 2?

 

Just came back from my local Meijer store, and they had their TVC on sale for $9.99, so if you've got Meijer in your area it might be worth a stop.

@whostheBossk given the spotty retail support it's anybody's guess when we'll see it. I tried finding a street/release date, w/no luck. Couldn't even find it for preorder anywhere.
