Oh how I could type forever in this post. However, after much consideration I am unable to narrow my choice down to one song but I am able to narrow my choice to one artist.........drum roll please.

    ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING
    written
    performed
    produced
    narrated
    signed
    lip synched
    smoke signaled
    mimed

by R. Kelly is as worthless as a chocolate fireguard. [Seinfeld]I mean have you listened to this guy's lyrics..have you really listened?[/Seinfeld]

The fact that R. Kelly receives radio/tv time is a sure sign of the apocolypse.

    I'M OUT

LOL "Hoyt, how could you?" :D I love MST3K! Yeah, "My, My, Mitchell" was bad...

I'd like to add to the list "Sherrie" by Steve Perry and "Seperate Ways" by Journey...cheesy songs and even cheesier videos.

When I read this thread title, one song suddenly jumped into my head. I do not think it would be known to americans, as I think it was released in the UK.

    Rasputin - Boney M

Although it is a completely terrible song, I cannot help but laughing because it is so stupid.

    RA RA RASPUTIN
    Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
    RA RA RASPUTIN
    Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

    gets ready for intense flaming

I agree that the Backstreet Boys and Britney are teh CRAP, but have any of you guys ever actually LISTENED to

    NSYNC

specifically some of the stuff buried at the back of the album that never came out as singles, or was unreleased alltogether, such as

More than a Feeling (Boston cover, better than the orig, IMO)
    I Thought she Knew
    O Holy Night (Christmas Album)

these three songs, IMO are some of the most incredible songs i've ever heard, speaking strictly from a vocal standpoint.......you have to be incredibly talented to pull these 5-part acapella tunes off, esp with the really close polyphony going on, you dig!

    Without a doubt...

    O-Town's, "Liquid Dreams."

The scariest of the boy-band phenomena - draw your own conclusions from the band name and the song title.

    :p

Oddly, while I don't like a lot of the songs mentioned, I think a number of people are confusing "The Songs I Don't Like" with "The WORST Songs of All Time." Even if Stairway to Heaven or Hotel California annoys you, I don't see how you can think either are BAD. There's excellent guitar solos, and they're musically crafted very well.

And country music--I don't see why everyone bashes it--I just started listening to it myself, and a lot of it is really good. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's not total crap. Objectively, I don't like a lot of pop, rap, hard rock, etc etc, but I can see how that might appeal to some people.

Bad songs, in my opinion, are songs that make you scratch your head and ask "how could ANYONE like this?" If the musicianship is crap, then that's much different from it being overplayed or from a type of music you know you hate.

Or maybe I'm just being defensive because I really like Led Zep, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Eagles, and country music.

I agree....people are confusing the term WORST with "one i HATE the most"

you can hate NSYNC all you want, but give them some vocal props......

you can hate Stairway to Heaven, but at least recognize its genius.....

    but that's jsut me

That last song is "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, not Elton John (unless Elton did a remake or something..)

An old song by a group I can't remember called "Me and My Arrow"

The singer of this song was Harry Nilsson, and personally, I liked it. But only because it was part of the soundtrack to "The Point." It was a little-known film, but I loved it.

Okay, back to your regularly-scheduled topic. :)

In da Club by 50 Cent -- What, can he not spell out "the"? I can't honestly fathom why rappers and such feel the need to shorten every damn word in the English language! VOCABULARY, MAN, VOCABULARY!

"Mr. Roboto" is by Styx actually (same name as that river in hell...)

Anyhow, I think pretty much every song by any pop punk band sucks. They all sound the same down to the vocalist, and the musicianship is just godawful...
