Amph "There's More Than One King" - The MonsterVerse [Godzilla x Kong: Supernova]

I'm just going to comment that it seems like insane overkill to sic your 50 foot tall mutant gorilla on what seem to be random gangs of survivors/scavengers.

 

Your timing is impeccable. The game dropped out of nowhere on Tuesday and, since I'm laid up recovering from flu, I played through the whole thing yesterday. Was wrapping up its last levels right when you quoted me!

Alas, I'm sorry to report that player interaction with Kong doesn't work the way you mentioned. You do kinda sic him on another Titan, though!

 

Just found out "Minus One" will be re-released this weekend to celebrate the 70th birthday of the original movie.

 

That might be something Fathom Events might be interested in, unless they're holding off until the 75th. I'll keep my eyes open.

 

My theater is showing Minus One from Thursday until Wed 11/6. It's in a room that has newly installed D-Box seats. Imo D-Box is a dumb gimmick best suited to theme parks or something but I've been saying to co-workers that it would be cool to see Godzilla or Jurassic Park in them. Now it's time to put up or shut up. If I can make it on one of my days off I'm going for it.

 

I had 3 months of AppleTV+ free subscription and while I watched a few movies on there, and they have a bevy of award winning TV shows, the only one I watched was Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. I think it is the best human plot stuff outside of Godzilla '14 and Godzilla Minus One (even if a bit draggy and they never answered why the guy fathered two families, was he just a sex addict?). The casting of Wyatt and Kurt Russell was pretty ingenious how it was used. Also Kurt had the best line as he was talking about how he founded Monarch and said the best they could come up with after 60 years was "Let them fight" which is a good slam on their big strategy in Godzillla '14. Also there's revelations about the Hollow Earth and time travel displacement which wasn't in the GvK movies but I think one character said they were on a different plane. Anyway 10 episodes and Godzilla is in it like 3 or 4 times? Eh, worth it.

As it is set after Godzilla '14 and then they time jump to what I think is King of the Monsters


and they said throughout the show that the Titans were Gathering for something big (which would be the events of King of the Monsters, I feel. The show did some continuity bookkeeping, like moving Monarch from a shadowy organization to out in the open press release organization) and the final scene when they're on Skull Island and Kong appears (and the island natives all disappeared between Skull Island and Godzilla vs Kong) so would S2 be what happened with Kong during KotM and why he didn't show up and where the hell the natives went?

 

I still haven't seen Minus One, but now that real life has finally swerved in my favor, I will do that as soon as things even out here.

Really hoping the next G film is a rethink of Hedorah.

 

I watched Return and Biollante over the last few weeks

 

Personally I just really want to see more Toho monsters adapted using the Legendary style and budget. And also more RODAN!

About to watch the only Godzilla I haven't seen yet....All Monsters Attack. I survived Monster A Go-Go and Overdrawn At Memory Bank so this shouldn't be a problem.
