Exscrly! Its not like we go to these movies for the monsters.

 

Skull Island was set in 1975. 45 years ago.
All the characters you met in that movie are either rather old or dead.
Maybe we get we'll get a cameo by an aged Brie Larson, "It was only for a day, but it was a love that lasted a lifetime."

 

I just assumed that something that seemed out of the blue or random would happen in GvK and id be confused and have to be told by my fellow geeks at the comic store "well if you had seen Skull Island you'd know that yadda yadda yadda".

 

I would say that Skull Island gave the Monarch organization a bit more backstory which only strengthened its presence in KOTM. There's that at least.

Not to mention that Skull Island just generally kicks ass.

Poor Mothra being flung all over the place. Godzilla took one in navel too. This is in the Criterion Collection and my collection.

Okay, that Godzilla store needs more Mothra and Ghidorah toys.

I noticed that hit too lol. Poor Gojira. And he seemed like such a nice lad in the original Gojira.

Jeez, I really should splurge for that Gojira Criterion set. I already own 26 Godzilla/Mothra/Kong films though!

I dare not look at that store. Must resist the temptation to buy more stuff.

Mothra is great ( Still need to buy those movies and Godzilla vs. Mothra) at some point.

The store...I know. I almost bought the Hedorah shirt but it didn't feel like a Hedorah shirt (would have preferred an animated shot from the movie, a bit more psychedelic).

Mothra became my favorite kaiju. I really enjoy all of her solo movies and of course all her appearances with Gojira and co. are epic.

Ooh, Hedorah. That's neat you have kaiju shirts. I need to get me some.
A Mothra shirt would be rad.

Edit: think I'll shall try to watch that awful bootleg I overpaid for, that one Amazon sent I told you about. I only made it 20 minutes into it, the quality is dreadful.

 

I’ve seen Mothra and some of her appearances with Gojira eons ago, but I am very fond of her. I look forward to seeing more eventually.

Sorry that Hedorah quality is terrible...that really needs to be seen in HD because of how inventive it is (Animation, psychedelic bits etc. )

I'm quite the fan of King Ghidorah meself. And Rodan was really cool in that most recent picture.
Rodan would make mince meat of the Jurassic dinos like Pterodactyl!

 

Ghidorah is in my mind Gojira’s true arch-nemesis. Mechagodzilla is a close contender, but Ghidorah wants the throne of “King of Monsters.”

 

I agree, although I've not seen every last Gojira picture.

But yes, King Ghidorah is Gojira's most formidable and ominous foe.
The whole creature design is just perfect. And the way each head has it's own brain and character.

I love all the appearances of Ghidorah in the Heisei and Millenium era films.

Sadly, I've not seen Showa era Ghidorah aside from many clips.

 

Ghidorah will give us a beautiful demise.
I’ve seen all but his Millennium variant.

I added to my last post Babygodzilla blowing bubbles.

 

I think I'll watch that Hedorah bootleg I mentioned.

Then King Kong vs Godzilla 1963 for the group view in the CCC tomorrow.

And after that, something with Ghidorah on Saturday.

Quickly dropping in to say, I am also a big fan of Ghidorah despite not seeing every appearance.
