These undercover prostitution stings just aren't right...

was a female officer dressed as a prostitute who flagged down this van with a 70 year old man in it... The man was like "I haven't had sex in like I dont know how long".. The lady asked him if he wanted some.. he said "I guess" for $15... BAM, he's in cuffs...


That is illegal (Just took AP Government, yoobetcha). We did this case study about this guy who they suspected for liking kiddie porn so they kept on soliciting him for it. They sent him all these ads and offers and stuff, telling him that they wouldn't leave him alone until he bought some, so he did. The supreme court decided that it's unconstitutional to solicit someone into breaking the law just to catch them.
In other words, if the undercover cop just dressed like a prostitute and stood on the corner and someone came up to her. Then it would be legal, but if she goes around offering sex for money, that's unconstitutional.

 

I agree, the police went to far. I also don't know if I agree that prostitution shoudl be illegal. I think it's wrong, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Like was previously stated, people choose to be prostitutes, and choose to go to prostitutes. Nothing happens against anyone's will there, and nothing happens that hurts anyone (well, unless the person gets an STD, but then, serves him right).

So I dunno. But that is pretty funny

Someone else had an even better response than Daschle's, something like, "So, after 5000 hours of wire-taps and a $30 million dollar investigation into a New Orleans brothel, the FBI has determined that there's prostitution in New Orleans? For $20 dollars and a trip to New Orleans, I could've told you the same thing."
