This is "THE" classic Palpatine line from ROTS...

I personally liked the line in my sig. What is interesting is the fact that maybe what was heard on the set is much different then what is seen in the movie. They had to reshoot and re-record the scenes since it was changed after the first shoot.

are you sure he says what you say he says? is there a link where HYPERSPACE says its "ABSOLUTE" instead of "UNLIMITED"? to me UNLIMITED sounds even better, I know because I saw the pirated movie several times and I read his lips and I swear he says UNLIMITED.

 

He was easily the best actor in the movie...not sure what you are talking about.

I'm talking about his ridiculous facial expressions and general over-acting ("no, no, no" ... "power unlimited") during the Mace scene. He's embarrassingly bad.Shame, because up until the Mace encounter, he was quite brilliant.

 

The battle between Yoda and Palp can really only be called a draw. Yoda said he failed himself. The reason Mace had the purple lightsaber was because Samuel L Jackson wanted it. But it ties into the movie because the lightsaber is close to being a Sith lightsaber. So it's kind of in-between Jedi and Sith. Also, i'm 2 lazy to look it up but in EPII I believe Obi Wan says something along the lines of do you believe you have the lightsaber skills of Mace Windu and the experience of Yoda(probably off a bit on the Yoda part) to Anakin.

 

The scene required it. He acted camp and that's what Star Wars needs. He's the only actor that seemed to understand that and thats why he succeeded.

I'm glad it worked for you. To me, this insightful 'required camp' from Mcdiarmid just came across as really awful acting. I guess i just didn't 'get it'.

the color of a lightsaber has nothing to do with being mace being close to the sith, SLJ asked, SLJ recieved. it has nothing to do with in between. that is nonsense, between sith and jedi, what? WTF!!!!

yes the yoda sidious fight was a draw, and as a yoda fan (him being my favorite) i can safely say i believe that sidious is more powerful than yoda, plain and simple. but mace is not better than yoda or sidious, yoda is the head of the jedi order for a reason.

 

The Mace fight scene seemed disjointed, something went wrong in the editing dept. But Ian has added more depth to the character rather than the defacto bad guy.

 

I'm mildly irritated by how Palpatine being "evil" is a given; he had a "fall" to the Dark Side too, he was not always a Sith Lord.

I am trying to write a book about this, but I doubt Lucas wants it; what I've seen suggests he doesn't want that kind of exposition.

The best line is the one that all of my kids and the kids of our neighborhood remember as they act out the Senate Duel scene with their Hasbro lightsabers, "My little green friend..."

 

"power.unlimited Power" is the quote that the crew and RM has been referring to as the line that will be quoted for years to come. They claim it would be the equivalent of the OT's " I am your Father". I rather believe that "Once more the sith will rule the galaxy....and we shall have peace" was the best line.

I must have rocks in my head, once I saw the movie I thought 'THE' line was 'are you threatening me Master Jedi?'. Loved it in the trailer and loved it in the movie.

Well it was hardly going to be 'do-it!' or 'ha!'.

 

Is there anyplace where I could download a clip of Palpatine's "Power! Unlimited Power!" I wanted to use it to make a ROTS trailer.

 

my favorite Palps line is a toss up between "are you threatning me master jedi" and "kill him..kill him now"

yeah 'power' is a good one. I love all his dialogue so it's tough to pick. But personal I think the looks in the opening sequence are priceless.of the crashing of grevious's ship, the looks of 'oh no, I'm a poor weak man' " get help, he's a sith lord' lol

 

I personally have to go with "Are you threatening me, master Jedi?" That is such a great scene overall, with Mace's posse entering, lighting their sabers, and telling him he is under arrest before Siddy turns the tables on them all.

And many other amazing lines. I've only seen ROTS two times yet, and it's been a while so I forgot some.

 

The only thing he did that was silly was in the battle with Dooku when he gives that little 'Yeah!' under his breath when something good happens.
