I like the Emperor Palpatine figure from The Sith Evolutions set---very well made with details on his face(what the..) and hands; same superb articulation as other Evolutions figures; the cloth cloak is huge as Palpatine is very thin, but still ok; I only dont like the hood too much: it's too small and narrow, when hooded Palpatine's head looks funny......still quite evil though! 9/10

Just picked up the 'Super Articulation' trooper and K&B Toys. They have a ton of HTF figures there, surprisingly.

Anyway he gets a 4 out of 5. I take off half a point because his hip joints don't articulate. The other half point goes to the 'battle damage' on the trooper. It's green I think and pretty cheesy looking. Looks like someone took a marker and just scribbled.

    He just fell over :(

No its not just you... that looks nothing like the Emperor...
Which bites, because i want an Emperor that isnt molded after "Darth Sidious" from ROTS...

Is the second Anakin (28) any good? I saw one the other day (sith eyes version, not mascara) and i might have a chance to buy him wednesday...

ha, I have to say this Darth Sidious's face is quite similar to the one showing in the ROTS movie when he fight Windu/Yoda in the office/senate hall!----!release your anger! mood-- (It's a little bit cartoonish though, same as Dooku in this set. But still very cool!)

I know this figure is old news by now, but I was very disappointed with the weaponry of the Nemoidian Warrior. I'm not sure how it's supposed to be used, but no matter how I turned it around, he didn't seen to want to hold it in any sort of "cool" position. I finally traded that gun in for the electrostaff from my TPM Captain Tarpals(sp? who cares?) figure, and he looks much more intimidating with it. I really like the figure itself, though.

I bought the Tank Gunner not long ago. To simplify things, I've never been a really huge clone fan, and I never thought I could love a clone figure this much...very versatile and looks great.

Got the Utaupan Warrior not too long ago...I wasn't too impressed. I could tell when he was in the packaging that he had some wierd articulation, but his arm movement downright bites, and his feet come off easily. To top it off, the "shadowing" around his eyes is so dark you can't even see his eyes at all, and his weapon is not cool. He looks so-so in certain stances on display, but I'm glad I never have to play with this figure.

My only other recent figure was the Mustafar Sentry. Wierd figure. He kind of seems like he doesn't even belong to the Star Wars saga, though obviously he does. He's definitely cool to look at (assuming you don't mind shades of brown and metallic blue). I mainly enjoy owning him because he represents the newest of the figures that have come out so far, and usually I'm way behind in the waves.

Just got Aayla from KBtoys.com. Figures starts off witha 5 out of 5 simply because Amy Allen is hot. But, like Shaak Ti, the legs are junk. The knee joint being both ways is ridiculous, makes it hard for her to stand in one position long. The lack of thickness on the legs also make it hard for her to stand straight (meaning right now she leans a little to the left).

Also, with pretty much every other figure I've seen, again except for Shaak Ti, the elbows bend. Would it have been to much too ask for them to give these two ladies bending elbows?!?!?!!?!?

She's seriously limited in what you can do with her so right now she's basically either "walking" on her platform, saber out. Or she's sneaking off with a Clone Commander for some R and R.

    Jedi Vs. Sith Battlepack

    Anakin Skywalker
This Clone Wars version of Anakin is very nice. Hasbro did well on the sculpt and the likeness, and the paint application is well done. Anakin does appear to have a bit of lipstick on his lips (first the ROTS Anakin with the eye shadown and now this). The articulation is nice on this one... the ball-joints at the knees, shoulders, and left elbow are a nice touch. Having done the right elbow would have benefited this figure. Anakin comes with his ROTS-style lightsaber, which makes sense. 9/10

    Obi-Wan Kenobi
The weakest of the three new figures in this set, Obi-Wan isn't that bad. Without the armor, he's a pretty basic Obi-Wan figure... not any better than the original basic Clone Wars version. However, with the clone armor, he's really cool. The helmet doesn't fit too well, and the armor is a bit hard to get on sometimes due to flimsy pegs, but it's managable. The likeness and sculpt are good, and the articulation is a bit weak. However, with the snap on clone armor, we can forgive this. Obi-Wan comes with a long staff and his ROTS lightsaber. 8/10

    Asajj Ventress
This figure makes this set. She's a huge improvement on the Clone Wars basic figure. The likeness is great, as is the articulation. Ball-jointed shoulders would have made her better, but I'm not complaining. The paint aps are great on her. The lightsabers are a nice bright red, though I think they're repainted hilts of the same lightsabers that came with the previous basic figure. 10/10

    General Grievous
This figure is a pretty straight repack from the ROTS Sneak Preview figure. He stands a bit differently, though. The cape seems to sit differently as well. However, this remains the best of the available General Grievous figures. So he's the right one to have put in this set. Having painted his cape black would have been a nice touch... something to add to the desirability of this set. Grievous has the same lightsaber the sneak preview figure had. 9/10

    Yoda
This version of Yoda, a slight repaint of the Saga 2-pack, is the best AOTC version of the character. I didn't have this figure loose, so he's nice to have. The sculpt is nice, and the paint is good. He has his signature lightsaber. 9/10

Overall, I am very pleased with this set. At $19.96, it was totally worth it. I only had General Grievous, but I don't mind having another one... especially at this price point. The set is worth it for the three new figures alone, and I highly recommend this set for children who are fans of the Clone Wars animated series or Star Wars in general.

    Overall: 10/10

I got Anakin 50# on Mustafar the other day. His in the hooded cloke and it also includes a figure of him after he got burned and I think its cool. Plus I also got a ROTS movie poster from the poster sale at my Uni for $10 and going to laminate it. I would like to get a figure of Yoda and R2-D2 that makes the sounds and General Grievous's blaster.

I've passed on him several times, but just from a casual viewer's perspective, he looks okay sculpt and articulation wise. He looks kind of cartoony, but I think that might just be because he's a sculpt of a younger Jedi, and his saber looks bigger by comparison. Overall, he looks like a much better buy than the...

    Utaupan Warrior

I commented on this figure before, but I feel a more in depth review (read: warning) might be in order for anyone who collects for purposes other than display.

This figure is a real dud! The one good thing about it is that if you have it on display with all of it's accessories in place, it looks pretty cool. The down side is evident the moment you start to handle it, though.

Let's start with the articulation...it sucks...end of story. The head movement is the best part, as it's on a ball joint like many other ROTS figures, which works well. The feet are on ball joints also, and come off very easily, so don't buy this figure for your kids (or pet, if you're in the habit of doing that) unless you want to be dislodging these from their esophogus or vacuming them up the same day.

The worst aspect of the movement is the elbow joints. The figures right arm is in an "L" position, and aside from being able to rotate the forarm around, the arms are held close to the body due to lack of ball-jointed shoulders, which the figure would really have benefited from. As it is, he is unable to hold his weapon in anything resembling an action stance, which really sucks (at best, it looks like he's holding it close to guard himself. To make matters worse, the arms come off at the elbows fairly easily also, which is not something you look for when selecting an effective candidate to be a warrior.

As I said, this figure has some cool accessories, and doesn't look bad sitting on his display stand, but if you plan to use him for anything else, best of luck keeping him together. The up side is that if you're looking for a figure that comes apart easily to use for custom fodder, this dude is your guy! Overall - 4/10

I have one word for this figure: Mediocre. The articulation is rather basic with striaght joints at the arms and thighs, a pivot at the elbows and hands. No knee or ankle aritulcation. The arms are just barely too short to reach the lightsaber with both hands. And the arms come out way to easily. Also, the lightsaber is a full sized one which looks kinda awkward with the figure. The hilt has a peg on it, but there's no hole on the belt. I can't really comment on th likeness since I we only get a brief glimpse of him im the movie. Butn overall this is a mediocre figure. It's brought down by lousy articulation and lightsaber oddities.
    5/10

    Grevious's Bodyguard
This is an ok figuere. The articulation is dedent (though I would have liked some in the knees. However, the action feature (which doen't work when the cape is on) makes the joints kinda loose. But the action feature actually works pretty well and looks good. It's not a total winner, but it definatly has good points.
    7/10

    Catpain Antilles
Another one in the "decent" camp. This figure is well detailed, but has a severe lack of articulation. I do like that the cape is very easily removable unlike Bail's. To me, this figure screams custom fodder, as it's not very exciting as is.
    6/10

    Red clone variant
This is a variant of the quick draw clone sculpt which was already very good to begin with. I'm gonna go out and say this is the coolest looking clone ever made. It's just totally awesome looking. If you're a clone collector, definatly pick this one up.
    9/10

    Pilot Obi-Wan
I saved the best for last. This is the best Prequal Obi-Wan ever. The articulation on him is incredible. The likeness is very good. The detailing on the figure is great and the plastic cloak actually looks very good. The headset is a little hard to fit on, but this is a very minor gripe. This is the perfect Episode III Obi-Wan. If you see this figure: DO NOT PASS IT UP! This is the best Obi-Wan ever made and one of if not the best figures of the ROTS line.
    10/10 (Becuase I can't give it an 11!)

Evolutions- Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader

    Anakin Skywalker (AOTC)

Nice! This is definitely the definitive version of AOTC Anakin. He's got a great likeness and sculpt... the face could be a bit better, but it's still good. The coloring and paint aps are great. The vinyl vest rocks. The articulation here is top notch. Nice that he has the proper hilt. The interchangeable hand is a nice touch. The chain is okay, there's not much use for it. It's a shame he doesn't have his own lightsaber blade. Overall, Hasbro nailed this. There's not much need for another AOTC Anakin figure after this guy. Kudos, Hasbro!

    10/10

    Anakin Skywalker (ROTS)

Now this is a TIGHT figure. This guy rocks from head to toe. The likeness is so gorgeous. Looks just like Hayden. [face_love] The articulation here is so great, but it's a bit disappointing they didn't include ball-jointed elbows. It's very hard to get him to at least look as if he's wielding the lightsaber with both hands. Plus, he has the incorrect hilt. I opted to give him the lightsaber from my ROTS Anakin #2 figure. It makes much more senes. The cloak is quite puffy, but it's not all that bad. It an be used on AOTC Anakin as well, which is cool. Hasbro did great with the interchangeable arm.

    10/10

    Darth Vader (ROTJ)

Ultimate Darth Vader likeness? Check! Ultimate Vader articulation? Check! Ultimate Vader figure ever? CHECK! If Hasbro can possibly come up with a better Darth Vader figure than this one down the road, I'd pay dearly for it. This figure is incredible. His detail and sculpt rock, and he's loaded with articulation. The saber is great, it's the same one from the VOTC Vader. Unfortunately, there is no hilt with this Vader or no hole on his belt to hold a hilt. A removable hand would have been nice, but I ain't complaining. So until Hasbro comes up with a Vader figure that has light up Sith lightning from ROTJ, then this is the holy grail of Hasbro Vader figures.

    10/10

This Anakin to Vader Evolutions set is one of the best Hasbro products I've gotten. The evolution concept is a real winner with me, as well as many fans I'm sure. I just got the Sith Lords set this evening, and it looks fantastic. I hope Hasbro relases more Evolutions in the future. It's nice to be able to get several versions of the same character all at once. This is one item I'd reccommend to any Star Was collector... especially them loose collectors. :)

    Overall, 10/10.

^^^ I agree completely...well said, though I wouldn't call Anakin gorgeous...I'd substitute the word "cool" in my description...[face_laugh]

I spent a lot of time pursuing Tarkin and the Clone Pilot repaint since I first saw them, and was lucky enough to snag them was it worth the effort? Well, here's my humble opinion on the figs.

    TARKIN

It's a pretty good likeness all around of the character from the movie. I'm a little tired of the arms that rotate at the elbow instead of having actual bending joints on figures these days, but it does allow him to hold his blaster or stand with his arms folded behind his back, so it works pretty well for this figure. The spots on his head around the hairline are kind of dark on the figure compared to the picture of the actor and the figure on the back of his card, but other than that, he's a very cool figure. 9/10[face_dancing]

    CLONE PILOT (REPAINT)

I don't own the original pilot, as he just didn't look cool enough to make me want to buy him when I don't own any ROTS clone piloted vehicles. The repaint, however, looks cool even without a vehicle. However, I found the rotating elbow joints to be annoying and hard to manage while posing the figure...I couldn't even get his right arm to stick straight down without looking wierd. The paint job is a tad bit sloppy, and the figure looks like his arms are a bit too small for his body. His box on his chest that his helmet hoses attach to gets in the way of him holding his blaster really well with two hands. Overall, this guy looked a lot cooler in his package than he does out of it, but still a pretty cool figure. 7/10:)

Alright, well I just bought The Destroyer Droid and 28 Anakin.

    Destroyer Droid

First of all, it looks awesome to begin with. Its different though than the Episode 1 d.d's from the movie. It also cant role up into a ball. Theres nice articulation on the head peice (up and down quite a ways) and the legish things (lol) are easily adjustable and stay in place fairly well. The blasting arms are good, but i can't understand how to fire the "blaster bolts" without pushing them to far in when you pull it back.

An 8 out of 10, solid figure

    Anakin

This was the third version of Anakin Ive bought, along with 50 and 2. Unfortunately, it looks like he's wearing mascara, but mines isnt too to bad. The cloak and sleaves of it appear scorched at the edges and at the bottom, which is a nice effect. He can hold his lightsaber relatively well, and theres decent articulation in both arms, though the ungloved mechanical glove appears to small.
Good luck getting him to stand without an extra base, because it isnt going to happen.

I would give him an 7 out of 10, and i would suggest buying 50 or 2 over this one.

I'm a bit annoyed though, about the pictures on the back of the boxes... Lets take Sidious for example... I love this figure, but the way they show him with his arms in front of his cloaked body looks sweet, compared to outstretched... Is it possible to put him into that position, or any of the others?

In response to the last two above...

The Destroyer Droid was pretty cool, though it was a repeat of the one they released for the Saga line...I think they should have done a new sculpt that actually did roll into a ball. I can't tell if I like this one better than the TPM slightly smaller figure, but they are both pretty cool.

I'd take the mascara Anakin over the #50 for the actual undamaged Anakin portrayals, simply because the face looks a lot more like Anakin than the #50 does (if you pick one with a minimum of eye shading). I'm not nuts about how easily the gloved hand comes off on mine after switching hands only a couple of times, but the saber stays in the hand well, whether it's on or off. I'd agree the first Anakin is probably better than this one though.

As for the Palp on the back of the card, it's been my experience that he can't assume the pose shown...at least not as we understand it. I've always wondered why they did so little articulation with the elboy joints on this figure if he's supposed to be able to duel with his saber...it doesn't make any sense to make him such a stiff, but I guess the designers weren't thinking along those lines.

I saw the Pilot Obi this weekend, and actually passed on the figure. I wasn't thrilled about his head sculpt. I didn't think it was as movie accurate as the others, though his body and cloak are clearly very cool. If I had to pick my favorite parts of the original Obis to make one perfect one, it would look like this:

    #1 Obi saber hand + #27 Obi head + #55 Obi body

Since I mainly just use my figures for display, and I like the arm poses on the #27 Obi, as well as the head sculpt, I'd say that he's my favorite of them all. I know the consensus is that #55 is the best yet, but this is just my personal opinion.

    here goes... my first review
    Obi-Wan Pilot #55
I think this is the best of the three ROTS Obi's out there. The face sculpt in my mind has the closest likeness of the three. The cloak is great and captures Ewan's gesture well. The headset and lightsaber are trivial in my mind to the look of the figure in itself. However, as accessories they work well and only add to the figure. All in all, one of the better ROTS figures I have seen. I'll have to give this figure:

    Evolutions: The Sith

    Darth Maul

Is this the best Darth Maul figure so far? I'd say so. He's got a great head sculpt. Good figure. However, his arms always fall off at the elbow. He's got great articulation, but it's hard to use all of it. Ball joints at the elbows would have been a BIG help. Also, the silver paint on the lightsaber hilt is chipping off, revealing the red clear blade underneat. Maul comes with a big cloak that looks bad on him as well as some useless binoculars, and an ok probe droid. Overall, Hasbro did well, but I was definitely expecting more. There are improvements to be made here.

    8/10

    Count Dooku

Whatever happened to the name "Darth Tyranus?" It's never used anywhere on Hasbro's products. And as this is the Sith Evolutions set, it sure would have been a nice label. Anyway, this is an awesome figure. The articulation is excellent. The head is great. Likeness is great. Excellent articulation. He's probably better than the great Dooku of the ROTS basic line. The soft goods cape and skirt work very well. This is probably the best figure of the set.

    10/10

    Emperor Palpatine

Again, the character's Sith name would have been better here. Anyway, the figure itself is pretty good. The likeness is good I suppose. The clothing underneath Palpatine's clothes are a bit questionable. The articulation is great. The sculpted hands are very well done. The trouble here is the hood. The cloak isn't so bad, but the hood is terrible. It just isn't possible to capture the appearance of the Emperor with this hood, and that's important. The cane is a nice add in, as is the lightning. Palps has some great lightning here that can be used with Dooku, which is very cool.

Don't forget the Saga Darth Tyranus figure who went by that name...I don't know why they chose to name the first fig of him in the AOTC line Count Dooku...did they think any of us wouldn't figure out almost instantly in the film that the two were the same guy? I know I did...

Due to various reviews on the Sith Evolutions set, I probably won't buy it...judging by pics I've seen of it, all that's been said is true, and while I'm a big fan of all three villains, I more or less have all that I need of the three characters at the moment (especially given my limited collecting budget these days). Thanks to all for taking the time to review the set and probably save me $20.

It's nice to get some more clones. This one looks a lot different from the other. The articulatios is great. It's about the same as Clone Commander and quick draw trooper. ONe major problem, though, is that the joint are very tight. I broke his hand off trying to turn it. Now it's stuck in one position as I had to superglue it. He comes with two weapons, a rather large unique looking gun and a rocket launcher that I havn't figured out how to make him hold. He also comes with a nice looking battle damaged chest plate that you can remove. The only other problem is that the paint apps on the head leave a little bit to be desired. Overall this is a pretyy good figure that I would reccomend if you love clones.
    8/10

    ROTS Battle Droid
Blech. Lousy figure. It will not stand up at all without a base, and lacks very much in articulation. Of course, they have yet to really make a good battle droid figure. I'm still waiting on that.
    3/10

    Green Clone Commander
Same old Clone Commander, but that's in no way a bad thing. This is still one of the best figures in the line. If you're an army builder, or are just Clone Trooper obseesed like me, you'll not want to pass this one up.
    10/10

    R2-D2 (sounds and light)
This is a novelty R2. It's the same mold that's been used a few times before, but with different sounds. If you don't already have this one in its other forms it may be worth picking up. Don't expect a lot of articulation, but it's still a lot of fun to push that button and him light up and whistle.
    7/10

    Crab Droid
This thing is huge! Wow! It's vehicle size! And it's a pretty decent figure too. It has a button on the side that makes the legs move and a really large cannon. This will make a great addition to any clone wars diorama. But be prepared to make a lot of room for it!
