Books Thrawn - New canon Star Wars book by Timothy Zahn (Spring 2017)

I think an interesting element to explore in this novel (can't wait till it comes out) would be to have the early Rebellion make an attempt at recruiting Thrawn, maybe Ahsoka in the form of Fulcrum, while he is still in the lower ranks of the Empire. Thrawn can refuse and reiterate to the Rebellion why he will not join them, outlining his mindset to readers. This would also help emphasize that Thrawn is with the Empire because he really believes in their cause, not just because they happened to be the first people who picked him up after Mist Encounter.

 

But of course, what better to jump start early labor?

 

I think a little romantce wouldn't hurt the book. It's hard to believe that Thrawn has never been in a relationship. This aspect just isn't shown in the novels or movies. Oh, and I'm sure that behind the scene there was more between Thrawn and Maris in OF.

 

Zahn made her in couple with Qennto to be sure there was no ambiguity about a possible romance. Thrawn enjoyed the attention but there was nothing more, she was useful to him to learn more about the rest of the galaxy.

I leave the rest to fanfictions.

I don't say that Thrawn is incapable of love, I just think he is married to his duty, and I like that it stays officially this way. For the rest, everyone has his own headcanon.

 

Exactly, and fanfiction is a wonderful thing for head canon.

 

Got my copy last night, about 100 pages in. VERY interesting discussion of racism within the GFFA and where it originates.

 

Regarding Thrawn and Maris I didn't mean love between them more like just physical attraction. And courtship or flirt is a part of foreign culture too, for Thrawn to study.

 

Yes that's why I like to separate the two, as everyone has a different headcanon most of the time

- Tsago: there was clearly physical attraction on Maris' side, but for Thrawn, it was never said and never indicated, so that is headcanon only. The only thing we know is that he appreciated being admired (and that's natural, who wouldn't?)

 

This is a longer conversation than I ever wanted to see about Thrawn's love life or lack thereof.

 

I don't know about Thrawn, but C'Baoth was a total player. Had to beat em off with a stick.

According to you (all), what website sends the pre-ordered books faster? I tried Amazon because it's popular and I thought they would do faster than the others, but it seems I was wrong.

My problem is also the shipping time, because even if I preo-order a book at Barnes&Nobles, it teels me that the shipping will take at least 14 days, so... do they send them by submarine or what? -__-

 

I know i kinda got a answers earlier.

But I'm excited to see how stand alone this book is or if this book will have lots of hints and maybe even tell some things for future events in the Star Wars Timeline (Both in and out of universe).

Okay, just hit play on the Audiobook, and Marc Thompson totally does Lars Mikkelson!Thrawn. This is going to be fantastic.

Oh my God Thrawn is sooo cute when he's learning Basic, not understanding some expressions I would like to be his Basic teacher, haha, that would be fun.

 

3/4ths of the way through, and wow. I certainly hope they take notes from Zahn for how to write Pryce in the next season of Rebels, because she is a revelation here. Kudos to Tim.

 

I wish Audible UK had the audiobook... Now I need to wait until the CD is back in stock!
