I just read the Heir to the Empire comic book today, and it was a nice, quick read. Enjoyed it. Would you recommend it over the original book by Timothy Zahn?

Not really. Comparing a mostly visual adaption to an originally written work is a tricky thing. Personally, I think both have issues but to a degree I enjoy seeing artists' impressions on things but it's jarring when it doesn't fit my own mental imagery which is often.

It's a good adaptation but not better than the book.

Always enjoyed the book over the graphic novel myself, but to each their own.

Can't think of any comic i'd recommend over its novel counterpart honestly.

The comics are best enjoyed as companions to the novels, rather than replacements. They're helpful in visualizing some aspects (though they get several things wrong: Thrawn's unifirm, Pelly's appearance, etc).

TTT has some great resonance with TPM, as it was illustrated around the time the movie casting was being done. That one particular panel is my favorite part of the whole comic series.

Oh, and it has @Havac's favorite character too.

    Missa ab iPhona mea est.

Tje art is nice, but it just doesn't compare.

The comic glosses over some details. I read the comics first before the novels, and I had virtually no understanding of the plot.

I listened to the audiobooks first then I read the graphic novel. Which I'm glad I did, because I felt if I had done it the other way around I would have been confused.

Are the audiobooks of the trilogy unabridged?
I think so for HTTE 20th Anniversary novel.

I think in the comic Leia wakes up topless in one panel. In the issue before they arrive at Kashyyyk. I'm not even kidding.

Isn't Mara topless in a panel as well?

Maybe in one of the Last Command issues. The Leia one is for some reason the one I remember (that would be Heir to the Empire issue #3). Because the comic came out when I was 15. Tend to notice those things.
