Most people want to see Tarkin in the series. And I'm pretty sure he is going to appear eventually.

After recently re-watching some of the old Hammer movies starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, I had a strange idea. I really want to see an arc of episodes where Dooku and Tarkin are interacting with each other. Maybe during a siege of Eriadu lead by Darth Tyranus personally, or by both of them trying to convince a neutral system (or a coalition of neutral systems) to join either the Confederacy or the Republic.

TCW most likely is the last opportunity were characters originally played by Lee and Cushing could interact with each other, and they should really jump on that chance. Not just because it's could be a really good story, but because it would be really cool ;-).

Essentially, the political opinions of Tarkin and Dooku should be quite similar, and although they would stand on different sides, these two fascists could really understand each other on a personal level. Maybe they were even friends back when Dooku was still a honored Jedi Master.

Is anyone going to support this?

I am all for Tarkin showing up on The Clone Wars but I hope they would bring in Farscape's Wayne Pygram to reprise his blink you will miss it performance he gave as Tarkin in ROTS.

I was so stoked to learn that Scorpius would be playing Tarkin when it was announced and was totally let down when he did not even get a single line of dialog. Tarkin' is such a key character in New Hope it would have been nice to see him play a bigger part in the prequels.

When I was watching TCW a few weeks ago, Cartoon Network started playing these terrible commercials. So I switched the channel and accidentally came upon one of these old Cushing-and-Lee films.

I'm not really sure which one it was, but it involved Cushing, looking every bit like Tarkin in a suitcoat, dashing madly through a forest at night with a shotgun. Then he commenced to fight Dooku or some such. This was a profoundly epic moment in my life.

So yes. I agree. More Helsing vs Saruman. Er -- Tarkin vs Dooku.

Oh hell yeah! This show NEEDS Tarkin. NEEDS him. More Tarkin, the better.

That would be very, very cool. I've no idea how good a Cushing impression Wayne Pygram does, but he's a very good actor, even under a mountain of prosthetics.

Which was very odd because he looks enough like Tarkin without any prosthetics.

Agreed- Tarkin needs more roles in star wars- he was not in The Force Unleashed and probably will not be in live-action either:oops: .... TCW would be perfect place for him- and he is just what needed for this show- commander for the republic who is not goody-goody... well they may mess up with his backstory but either way Tarkin IS needed....

That would be the best episode ever. A contender, at least. [face_laugh]

I haven't had as much exposure to Tarkin, but I wholeheartedly approve of his inclusion because of the fact that he'd bring something new and very interesting to the table.

We can always use more Tarkin. The clever quips a la ANH would be great in TCW. Not to mention he would be a credible and capable...villian in this case? Or does being in the Republic automatically make him a hero? :)

Republic already has villains on it's side in TCW... Chii Choo, Halle Burtoni, Mee Deechi... and secretly one Sith Lord [face_whistling]
So Tarkin would fit in nicely.... Eu tells about Wilhuff Tarkin and Luminara Unduli working together as negotiation teamo_O Very interesting idea- they're like night and day- would be nice to see that in TCW- Tarkin has previous experience of jedi in ANH for sure.....

Yeah I know, thus the smilie! :p

Indeed, that would be very interesting. From his few comments in ANH, I get the impression that he doesn't really have anti-Jedi views per se. But maybe I'm reading too much into that...

I can't believe they haven't shown Tarkin. He's one of the main villains created by Lucas. So why haven't they introduced him, yet? There were so many opportunities to showcase this guy, and now time's running out. This is also a good way to explain the human supremist segregation in the OT. And, don't say it isn't what it is in the old trilogy because, it is what it is.

yes they need to explain why OT has aliens only in Cantina, Jabba's place and bounty hunting and well occasionally leading rebel fleets in to traps:p .... Trespass showed us some specism already.... TCW has not enough humans- now season3 showed us Mandalore and Alderaan... so at least too humanworlds and new humanmodels like Dao and Mina Bonteri...

Tarkin, his Tarkin Human Doctrine and the COMPOR

    awesomesauce

Padme and Tarkin could have a run in and she could scoff at his arrogance. A taste of what is in store for him in the future with Leia.

Oh and WTF happened to the Battle Planetoid plans? Why not bring those back while you are at it! They clearly are hacking away at it sometime after ROTS. Let's have a build-up (no pu intended) to the creation of the Death Star! Foreshadowing if you will.

That would be PERFECT ... because remember by the events of Revenge of the Sith, Tarkin is already a high Imperial officer, and graced with looking on the construction of the Death Star with Palpatine. Something would have to be established

I guess we have to have Tarkin at some point. Tarkin and Boba fett should meet! Did you read the boba fett scholastic novels? Fett recieved assistance from Tarkin himself to get on Coruscant and eventually try and assassinate Mace Windu (without his knowledge. But i dont think tarkin really cared)

I wonder how Tarkin and the Jedi got along?

"You don't know how hard it was when Mr. Lucas cut my dialogue from RTS..."

(By the way, Wayne Pygram does a near-perfect impersonation of Peter Cushing's voice.)

Corellia, Anaxes, Taris... we can see people said to be inhabitants of these worlds- so where are the worlds?... They will likely to be slightly redesigned if we'll see them- but i don't care- as long as Corellia is something between Earth and Coruscant with shipyars- it will do- we already saw Selkath so someone there have some idea of KOTOR- Taris can be rebuilt to be very different than it was before it's destruction (Kin Robb is identified to be senator of Taris- the humanlady with dark skin and purple gown), Anaxes is not really seen in many sources- it's some sort of cityworld i guess- home of Yularen and Tarko (from tfu2)... Kilian is from Corellia according to new source material....
Then there is Eriadu, Ralltiir, Tiisheraan, Axxila......

I'd be interested in seeing Tarkin. I don't read the EU beyond references to it in the Star Wars Wiki. If I understand it correctly, in the EU Tarkin always had something of a ruthless streak. If he shows up in TCW, I'd be curious as to whether or not Lucas and Filoni would follow the EU, or make him more like Yularen, where he starts out as a decent guy but then gets corrupted.

It would be interesting if Bail has to go there for some reason, and then starts all sorts of mayhem.
