Time Span in between films

I've been wondering recently what is the time span between the films. I know AOTC is 10 years after TPM, but referring to TPM as Year 0, what is the gap in between each movie?

 

TPM>AOTC=10 Years.

AOTC>ROTS=3 Years.

ROTS>ANH=20 Years.

ANH>ESB=3 Years.

ESB>ROTJ=6 Months.

So its almost 37 years from the time Sidious orders the attack on Nabboo to the time when he dies on The DS above Endor.

There you go. The story takes place over a course of 46 years. This makes the story very symmetrical. Anakin turns to the Dark Side at 23 and turns back at 46, making his life split in two between Anakin and Vader. Luke is also 23 in Episode VI and has to make the same choices his father made.

 

Wrong.

There's a 10 year gap between TPM and AOTC, a 3 year gap between AOTC and ROTS, a 19 year gap between ROTS and ANH, a 3 year gap between ANH and TESB, and a 1 year gap between TESB and ROTJ.

I find it very hard to believe that Luke and Leia are only 23 in RotJ. But facts are facts.

It took them a whole year just to rescue Han? No 6 months is more suitable.

23 is a very powerful number, it has a religion dedicated to it u know

anakin lives 23 years in the light & 23 in the dark
the saga ends when luke is the age anakin was at when he turned to the dark side - luke faces the same choice at the same age

 

I never got the impression that the gap between episodes IV & V was three years.

Couldn't Han have found a moment in all that time to pop back to jabba and pay him off?.

I'm not agruing with any 'official history', though I've not been aware of it, I just think the film doesn't give the impression of a three year gap, in my opinion.

That's true. Han got sidetracked and decided to help the Rebellion. He decided to leave to pay off his debts, only to be sidetracked again. Han's character progresses from a scoundrel to a hero. Also, it's definitely one year between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Shadows of the Empire takes place 6 months after The Empire Strikes Back. And why's it so hard to believe it would take so long? They'd have to find Boba Fett or find people who knew where he was going. Then they had to devise a plan to rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt, which would've taken time. Then they had to get people into their positions over a period of days. Also, you need to take space travel into account. It likely takes at least several hours to get to the nearest system. If you're going all over the place looking for someone, it would take a while.

No, it's 1 YEAR, you're thinking of the amount of time that elapses in-between ANH and SOTE, or SOTE and TESB, or something EU like that.

Nope, I don't read EU and I don't know SOTE even stands for. But it is 6 months.

Does it say in the OS's databank that 6 months opposed to 1 year elapses between TESB and ROTJ? Let's find out, shall we...
