so we get nothing the upcoming weeks. If it is only for D23 guys, then who cares...what a boring summer
I 'm thinking we get either a Trailer or A Behind the scenes Sizzle Reel at Comic-Con traditionally they don't release a lot of Star Wars Content at D-23 It Is more of a corporate thing really.
Melbourne Comicon is this weekend. We have... Googling... Ooh, Sherilyn Fenn and Jason Moama and a 1980's Doctor Who, and a guy with big ears that I've seen somewhere. Perfect place to drop the Trailer.
No Trailer, but a nice Video about Work for TLJ and Han Solo: https://twitter.com/BFI/status/880146296123736065
What is the deal with movie studio/directors these days afraid to drop more trailers? Ain't gonna spoil nothing, if you just choose and pick scenes that DON'T spoil anything. It isn't that complicated!
You know one of these days someone is going to remember that they had the exact same complaints during the last movie and think to themselves, "Maybe I'm not the marketing genius I think I am." I'm telling you it's gonna happen.
Get as many details from TLJ sizzle as you can in case they don't release it online! I was very frustrated with shareholders footage reports cause people were very low on details such as who wears what (important for gauging where the scene fits in the movie), whether characters were indoors or outdoors. I know it's hard to remember everything but they should have at least remembered whether Rey had hair down or her 3 buns in the orbs of light scene. And whether it was indoors or outdoors.
Trailers take work to produce. And since there's no correlation between the number of trailers a film releases, and it's critical and commercial success, there doesn't seem to be a strong incentive to release more trailers (apart from meeting the highly specific demands of a few hardcore fans).
And that worked out so badly for them. What a flop that film was because of the lack of marketing by the end.
Maybe they wait till the Ep8 reshoots and the final review are done to not have the same topic like with R1 when there was a lot of footage being shown that did not end up in the movie
RJ said post prod will be finished by end of august...which means reshoots have probably already happened some time before and they're approaching the final cut. So they're currently polishing the movie. No reshoots by now.
I haven't seen that anywhere. The reshoots were probably in February or March this year, a bunch of the cast were in London around that time. The fact that nothing ended up in the trades indicates it was your standard brush ups, nothing huge. Regarding the trailers...the amount of entitlement in this thread is bloody staggering. We're just under six months out from release, no need for a deluge of info at this point in time from Lucasfilm. The film will be released and be a roaring success, because the marketing push will have happened in the last three months of the year. Not the middle of summer. D23 will have been about 6 weeks after the Vanity Fair pics, which dropped about 6 weeks after the first teaser. Things will pick up once the summer is over. Breathe..... Just..Breathe.....
It's probably best for Lucasfilm to drop the trailer AFTER they fire Rian Johnson, as that would immediately blunt the criticism.
