ST TLJ Trailers and TV Spots Discussion

Man, ya just cant some people happy! Have some patience!

 

They'll do the poster the same day as the trailer. That's what they did with TFA.

But we've already kind of seen what the poster will look like.

It's unlikely that they will top TFA's, though.

 

Why Do I remember a Trailer dropping during Monday Night Football Giants vs Cowboys and then Tickets went on sale right after or was that for TFA? or was It Thursday Night Football?

 

What will we see first-the Infinity Wars teaser or the TLJ official trailer?

 

I think will be TLJ first. Just now I found out Avengers: Infinity War will be released in the same month of Han Solo. Sorry Han, my money will be to Infinity War

 

If the main trailer is HALF as good as TFA's, I'll be happy. I don't think anything will ever beat that trailer.

 

Someone can can correct me but this is the current status of Disney movie trailers/teasers, correct?

The Last Jedi: awaiting the final/first full trailer (teaser released in April)

Black Panther: awaiting first full trailer (teaser released in June)

Avengers Infinity War: awaiting first teaser (non Comic Con)

You really will not see Han Solo in the cinema because you’re going to see Infinity War the same month? I find that hard to believe. Especially for something as meh as another Avengers movie...

But even if you have to choose, I can’t imagine going with a Marvel Avengers assembly line product over Star Wars. Just hard to relate.

 

TFA indeed saw the trailer drop during halftime of Monday Night Football, and tickets went on sale by the following midnight, I think.

I think the Rogue One trailer hit on a Thursday, so maybe it came out in combination with football as well, but ticket sales didn't start until much later, see here for example.

That trailer hit ight in the feelz..

 

That trailer still gives me chills. The intro music really sets the tone and it builds beautifully with each shot. Felt very personal and magical. I am not expecting TLJ trailer to top it but I have a gut feeling that TLJ might become my new favorite Star Wars film. Yes I said it! Better than ESB!

 

I still think the best Star Wars main trailers are a tie between AOTC and ROTS.

 

Wow I never realized how much those trailers pretty much told the entire movie.

I’m not gonna pretend I didn’t go crazy after seeing the trailers for the prequels, BUT after seeing the subsequent full film(s) its hard not to let that taint my viewing of these trailers.

I have no such problem with both TFA and Rogue One

I think the ROTS trailer is still good. However, talking about the PT trailers only, I think the AOTC and the ROTS teaser trailers are better. And yes, its utterly astonishing, in hindsight, that someone as secretive as Lucas let these trailers slip past him. They literally play every beat of the films from start to finish.

 

Wasn't It Olympics with the RO trailer?

I still think TPM teaser trailer was the best We really didn't have much to go on before that and It was the First New Star Wars movie trailer since ROTJ so most of us were really excited to get a new Star Wars Trailer or content!
